Very good service but room was in need of attention

The staff were very friendly and offered very good service. The room (317) was in need of repair and looked very tired. The sliding door on the shower screen was missing, the bathroom basin faucet leaked and was not correctly fitted to the basin, there were many scuff marks on the walls and many parts of the room needed a touch-up with some paint. This was not a room I would have expected to stay in when booking with the Novotel (having stayed in other Novotel hotels in AU and NZ).

The sea view room (304) was spacious and clean. My one recommendation would be an additional power point for laptop use for those who might need to work or charge a phone at the same time.

I am a regular at Novotel Lami but I was a bit disappointed this time. Firstly my booking was done wrong, although I had paid in full in advance for Deluxe room with breakfast. Deluxe room was no different from Superior.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We do try hard to offer a good guest experience and it is disappointing when this is not achieved. We did upgrade you to an Executive Room with a King bed and this is a step up from the Deluxe Room with a Queen that you had booked. The Executive rooms are much larger in size so I am confused when you say that our Deluxe rooms are no different from Superior. The hotel room was really good except I found some cockroaches crawling inside the drawers where the tea making facilities were placed. Room service was good and I enjoyed the food there.

My "upgraded" room reverberated with traffic noise. Staff were kindly and attentive and moved me to another, quieter room for the second night but the shower head was broken. Breakfast was great, but dinner not so much.

very friendly staff at the reception area, at the bar and at the kitchen area. They all made me feel welcome and eager to assist on anything I had requested for. I stayed at Room 105 and I saw two cockroaches around the bathroom and in the draw where tea cups were kept. This happened two days after the notice sent to me that there was going to be a work at the hotel to clean and kill the pests and insects. I did not want to make a fuss over it because I did not use the cups.

friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms. Great facilities. Only awful experience was following a meal on the beautiful deck overlooking the water when table clearing staff took 3 empty beer bottles from the table and threw them straight into the water in front of where we were dining. I made a formal complaint with the duty manager and asked him to advise what process was in place so this behaviour didn't happen again but he never had the decency to get back to me.
