My stay in room 157 of IBIS Karlsruhe HBF was not satisfying. Reason is that the room is located next to a "corridor" of the main station. The air in this corridor is extremely "stuffy" . I would love if this kind of room could be avoided for my next stays at IBIS Karlsruhe HBF

Large room, small bath room, avoid the first floor (noisy on street side and and at the same level of the roof of the inside court roof, this not safe if you need to leave the window open. Great location; 3 minutes walk from train and trams stations. Goof breakfast, convenient bar for a late night drink

+ Functional, clean, comfortable hotel. Good working set up in the room. Silent inspite being close to the station. Convenient to be this close to ths railway station when having to catch an early train. - Expensive compared to the size and amenities in the room and breakfast cost extra but was extensive. No safe in the room to store the laptop or other things. Anyone could take the elevator to the rooms, did not need to use the room card to "start" the elevator.

« Comfortable location few steps away from the City »

Easy to reach from South (Motorway), good parking possibility. Also railway station is directly nearby. Comfortable stay, standard rooms wide enough for 1 or 2 people, friendly and helping personnel, all services available except restaurant (a 24h service with snacks is eventually offered). Single black spot: stairs at main entrance cause some problems to people having walking difficoulty or even only if you have heavy luggage (like for me, but I don't know if they have a 2nd & more accessible entrance which I didn't see).

Staff was super. When I forgot my electronic converter, provided me with one, for the length of my stay (to recharge electronics, operate my computer, etc.) for NO charge (pun intended). Housekeeping honored the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, unlike some places where they call after having completed their rounds, despite the fact the sign says "Do not disturb". Good price, clean, have stayed there before, will so again, in the future.

It was a last minute decision to stay at Ibis, staff was very friendly, easy to check in and book at the same time. Room was clean, comfortable bed. Bathroom is quite small but clean and functional

Everything was good as normal. Staff very friendly and professional, room clean and breakfast tasty. The only small problem was the air conditioning was switched off and it was rather hot. I had to open the window to get it cool but that meant quite a bit of noise from the trains.

Small but comfortable room. A/C did not work in room requiring us to leave the window open, until guests in adjacent rooms smoker out their windows and the second hand smoke drifts into our room.

The room was fine, as always with Ibis. Disappointed by service : no personnel at reception, neither at check in (14:00) nor checkout (10:30). Personnel rather slow and unfriendly. I received an automated bill by email for 10€ without explanation. Upon request at checkout, reception staff explained it was for the umbrella I had borrowed - and had since returned. (When i asked for the umbrella, I wasn't made aware of this.)

« The IBIS promise not delivered »

Our stay was made unpleasant by the failure to deliver the IBIS promise over breakfast and the arrogant approach of the hotel manager when the issue was raised with him. In our case, the undertaking to offer a continuation of breakfast after 10.00am, to match the IBIS promise of breakfast until 12 noon, was absent. this promise is clearly stated in the room card describing breakfast. We simply wanted to take away four coffees for our journey and were asked for payment. I have never experienced this before in any IBIS hotel and the normal 'take away' bag facility was not in evidence either. In fact, if one had been taking the lighter breakfast option from the hotel bar, one would have been very poorly served, with just a few bread rolls, jam and butter only. The manager ignored my references to my extensive positive experiences in other IBIS hotels throughout Europe, saying that this was not the German way.

Our main Breakfast is from 6.30 to 10 am with self-service unlimited buffet for € 11,- per person/day. We also have our Early bird 4 to 6.30 am and our late risers 10 am to midday with hot drinks, fruit juice and pastries which cost each € 5,50 per person/day. As we both talked at your departure, I have already forwarded your comments to our Headquarters in Munich and I hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future in one of our other Accor Hotels.
