« Great »

It was easy to access. Near 2 metro stations close to city tour buses. Staff was very helpful with directions. Breakfast was great. The downer was a malfunctioning lift and had to climb stairs up to sixth floor. Otherwise a good experience. Wood stay there again

« I was charged twice »

My reservation was cancelled while I was traveling to Paris. This was not my request to cancel. When I arrived our room was not available because of the false cancellation. We were given another room. I received my receipt and was charged to my credit card for the amount of my reservation. However, my father was also charged to his credit card. One of the two charges needs to be reversed so that we do not have to go through the credit card company to refute these charges. Please respond.

« really noisy elevator kept me awake all night. »

I asked to be moved rooms but was told it was not possible. The room backs right onto the elevator. I would recommend that you shut the elevator down during the evening so that people can sleep. It was really terrible.

« Horrible night of no sleep and terrible customer service »

I had an absolutely horrible stay at the Ibis Styles Paris Lafayette Opera. As soon as I checked into my room (#67), I noticed there was a terrible noise constantly occurring. It sounded like metal pipes breaking and exploding and machinery grinding away. The walls and bed vibrated every time the noise happened. As I went downstairs to complain, I realized the noise came from the elevator. The receptionist called a tech to come in, who told him that there was a serious problem with the elevator that would require it to be shut down for at least 2 days. Since the hotel was full over a weekend, the receptionist refused to turn off the elevator. This was quite a risk for anyone who used this elevator with a serious problem. But more seriously for me, I could not be in the room or sleep at all with this noise. The receptionist basically shrugged and said oh well, there's nothing he could do. I asked to be moved to a different room or sister hotel anywhere in Paris; he said this was not possible. It was incredibly awful in the room; even sitting in the room was intolerable. That does not mention the stained ceiling, chips in the walls, and shower which flooded the floor. Then around 1:00am, the fire alarm went off. It kept ringing for half an hour or more as the night receptionist fiddled with the alarm by the front door, which apparently was broken. No firetruck ever showed up, another risk to guests' safety. I insisted that I receive a refund; the noise from the elevator continued past 2am and with the fire alarm, there was no way of getting any rest. The night receptionist said YES he was the manager, and YES, I could have a refund "because two things was enough". But when I went to get the reimbursement later on Sunday morning, my request was refused by the new receptionist, who told me the night receptionist had zero authority and was not a manager. I insisted on moving to the hotel next door, the Mercure, as I could not stand to be in the Ibis a moment longer. On Monday morning, I spoke with the manager, who said that a refund was impossible for my June 3, 2017 stay in the Ibis. I was very unhappy after the misleading information from the employees at Ibis. She said all she could do was give me points equal to the amount I had spent (115 euros). I wanted, and still want, a refund on my credit card. I am extremely unhappy. My trip to Paris was completely ruined as I paid for, and expected to get a room where I could sleep. I did not get any rest and I could not remain in the room, and the Ibis employees were extremely unhelpful on June 3, 2017. I could not enjoy my trip as I was sick and exhausted. I was lied to and there was zero care for the fact that I would get zero rest. They made no attempt at a solution at Ibis, but told me "oh well." This is completely unacceptable.

« Not happy. »

Positive: clean. good location, fairly well isolated against outside noise. wifi OK. Good choice of French TV channels on HD TV. Negative: Smell from bathroom overpowering when coming into room (assume old pipes, but went away later) cramped room, bed too big for size of room. cramped shower (I am 1.62 cm and 70 kg!), stained carpet and tired furnishing. unfriendly reception. no reception on arrival (only waited 4 minutes though). smell of fresh cigarette smoke in corridor. no proper chair to sit on to work. bed made on last day incorrectly (only noticed in the night, so couldn't have it changed). still no invoice received although promised to send per email

Room was very small and cramped, it was filthy, carpet covered in stains and the walls are dirty and marked. There were small bugs crawling around on the carpet. There was a strong smell of smoke and food in the room all night.

« Small and noisy  »

We could hear the people above us, the people next to us, and the people down the hall. It was impossible to sleep. We tried to spend as little time as possible in the hotel

« Very bad »

Top floor and escalator did not reach. Needed to bring heavy luggages myself and walked through staircase. Very noisy all the time because of the old escalator next to the room. Two single beds to put together and formed a large single. This is gap between two mast. That's totally deviated from what I paid and ordered. I ordered and paid for a large single bed. That's a non honest action by the hotel.

Breakfast was decent and the bed sheets were very clean however the rest of the hotel looked very dirty. The carpet on the hallways were very dusty and the walls looked scuffed and dirty.

Very pleasant hotel. Great staff members, could not have done more to help us. Breakfast was nice, the location was brilliant and i'd definitely stay here again if I return to Paris. Only negative feedback was the Key Card had to be reset 3 times meaning trips up and down in the lift.

I have made a reservation on February 6. 2017 - Multi-room offer: 2 rooms close together (for 4 adults) because I traveled with my parents and wife (my parents were celebrating 40th wedding anniversary and this trip was our gift to them). After I have made a reservation everything was OK - I saw on Ibis website "My Bookings" section that there were two double rooms reserved for us with reservation numbers FCZLDMGP and FCWLGHDH. On Friday 24.03.2017 I got two automatic emails informing me that I could check in online. When I tried to fill the data for the rooms I saw that I can check in only for one room and for the second room I got message that the room was already assigned and also I saw on the website that the room was Cancelled "ROOM CANCELLED (cancellation no. 4435)". When we arrived in the hotel on Saturday 25.03.2017 between (16-17h) our nightmare began. Man who was at the reservation desk was totally unprofessional. He first tried to explain us that we didn't reserved two connecting rooms, that we made a wrong reservation, that we didn't paid our rooms in advance and a lot of strange words. He also said the hotel was overbooked and they can give us only one Suite for 4 adults for the first night and for the other 2 nights he could move us to separate rooms. We told him that it's not possible, we are all adults and we need two separate rooms as we paid. He started to call somebody who could explain us what was the problem. I didn't want to talk with anybody on the telephone because he was the hotels' employee and he had to find a way to resolve the problem, He also told us that we were the last guests for that day and he didn't have physically 2 rooms for us (this was not true because after that I saw people checking IN). I told him that I didn't want to go in the room for 4 adults which he gave us and I would prefer sleeping by the reception desk. He again called somebody and after that call, he said that he cannot help us because we didn't want to cooperate. How could we cooperate with somebody who didn't want to give us something which we paid in advance. He also told me that he would put on my ibis account some extra points... but entire time with a raised voice as if we have made a mistake. After ONE HOUR spent in discussion some lady came in the hotel and started talking with us. She was already informed about the problem. Her approach towards us was totally different. When somebody tells you "SORRY, we made a mistake, we don't have a free room for today PLEASE go in this room only for one night" is a totally different than when somebody tell you "We don't have your rooms" with a raised voice. She also offered us to go the next day to the hotel next to ours, which has better rating, as a sign of apology. She also offered us to put a cover between the beds in room for the first night. We decided to stay for the first night in the suite and sleep together and the next day to move to two separate rooms. After all these things I checked again on Ibis website for this hotel: when you select 2 adults and 2 children (under 18) system is offering 2 choices Suite for 2 adults and 2 children or Multi-room offer: 2 rooms close together for 4 adults. When I select 4 adults system offers only one choice Multi-room offer: 2 rooms close together. This means that the system works fine and somebody from the hotel made a mistake and gave us room witch is not for 4 adults or gave our room to another guests. At the end we have very pleasant stay in the Paris. The Hotel is generally good, breakfast is OK, value for the money is perfect. All employees willing to help instead the man who was at the reception desk during our check in. I would like that somebody check everything I said above and give me a feedback.

Great staff, great location and great "continental" breakfast. Double-glazing windows and a better sound insulation between rooms would be a plus.

I wasn't sure at first as it looked a bit basic but the bed was comfy, the shower worked well and breakfast included. Staff were very friendly & I would like to especially point out all the help Pedro gave me, both emailing me to ensure my room had been reserved and general help during the stay.
