Enjoyed it. Good staff. Goff rooms, but the gutter above our room was rusted through and dripped onto our courtyard: luckily 1) it wasn’t raining otherwise would have sounded like Niagara Falls and 2) it wasn’t warm enough to sit outside.

The staff service was great. Very friendly and able to answer any inquiries I had asked. When I booked online, I chose the 1day Snow garden package that was assured the whole family had unlimited rides and ice skating. This was not the case, when I went to the snow gardens, the lady advised that only 1 wrist band was written by the resort for the rides. I had to purchase additional unlimited ride wrist bands and ice skating tickets which I believe I thought was already organized as part of the package. If I had known this, I would have purchased tickets separately to save on the hotel package and Snow Gardens. With a young family and the price we paid for a 4star resort, I expected the level of cleaness to be exceptional, especially with the Mercure Name. The curtains, beds was dusty. Roll-out bed was uncomfortable. There was a small kitchenette but no small or foldable tables for us to put the food on or sit. We had to sit on the floor. Room was dusty and the carpet looked/felt old and dirty. Two spiders size of a 50c coin were found near our bed where the kids slept. The heater was not working as well (may be due to the outside cold) but even putting up to a higher temperature (25degrees) it still felt very cold. The Wi-Fi was useless. Where I stayed, it seems to have signal or connectivity at certain areas. Near the back outdoor window or close to the TV. Even when I got connected, it constantly drops out and does not re-connect again until I try to over 10+ times, even then I would give up. When I do get connection, the speed is extremely slow, again almost unusable. Ping averages 826ms, download averages around 0.42Mbps and upload speed is around 0.23Mbps. Loading takes too long and I would eventually give up. At this point, I did not use Wi-fi for the both days I stayed at all. I suggest more Wireless Access Points or Wifi range extender to be installed closer to that end of the resort to ensure wi-fi coverage is available. Also ensure, if configured, the bandwidth shaping is lifted for wifi connections. In addition, having Wifi with no password is extremely insecure. I've seen other hotels that enables Wi-Fi password with their surname+room number and can be set for the duration of the stay. This will enhance your network security and also protect your network from unwanted visitors.

The room feel as if the carpet was dusty, the shower head did not work, some of the ceiling lights did not work, there was a cockroach in the middle of the night crawling over our things in the bathroom, one of the beds had NO Mattress protector, the other mattress had a protector that was too small.

Disappointing.. room 804, floor tiles needed mopping, fly screen on door facing tennis court was completely broken. The feature wall in the bathroom has never been cleaned near the toilet & vanity. Reception staff were pleasant & accommodating. Breakfast was a shambles. Coffee machine kept breaking down, tables couldn’t be cleared quick enough more staff required. Glasses for juice need to be near the juice station not in a cupboard. Only scrambled eggs available. No other options.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. I would like to mention these staff members who assisted with our stay. Sophie in the Elements Restaurant, made our dining experience enjoyable. The lady who attended to supplying our room with additional wood was very helping and caring and the staff whilst having breakfast were accommodating to our needs and Hayley at the front door was very professional in her manner.

We have never stayed at this property before but have eaten at the restaurant, how 2 years things change, but not in a good way. The staff have no idea about the food at all, they can’t serve in the right way, for example they don’t go around the right corner. They can’t remember who order what, the food comes out cold. We ate at the restaurant 2 years ago and it was a nice meal on Friday night it was not the same place. The staff need some guidance on how to serve, even calling last drinks at 11 when there’s is over 40 people in the bar and not one heard, and then close the bag at 10 on Saturday night but no signs to say this, we come back from dinner and fine the bar is closed. It’s just disappointing!

Whilst I had paid for and had confirmed a room for a family of five, we were only given a room for four on our arrival. The staff had to find a room for us, which they eventually did. The curtains were partly broken and despite an assurance they would be fixed, they were still broken on our departure 3 days later. The food in the restaurant however was excellent.

A short getaway to the Hunter

A short getaway to the Hunter in a comfortable hotel which was well positioned to the wineries was what we were looking for and found it. The Mercure was quite close to two wineries and within walking distance to a couple more. Well located on a main road and quite central to the valley - with the gardens next door. Neat clean and comfortable room with a comfortable bed. Hotel restaurant food was good- as was the service. A reasonable wine selection. We liked the fact it was an Accor property - a complimentary welcome drink and “two for the price of one “ food.

Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was pretty standard but the dinner menu provided and interesting selection. All evening meals we had were excellent and our compliments go to the chef. Location was superb with many wineries close by. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed the location. The hotel needs some investment. Furnishings are tired. Breakfast was sub-standard, especially considering that the hunter is a food and wine destination.

Was nice apart from the over powering smell of bleach when we entered the room. Upgraded to the birthday package for my wife. The complementary beverage was terrible and the half a dozen balloons on the bed was unimaginative however my wife did enjoy her cheesecake.
