The room was nice and clean, the hotel restaurant was nicely decorated, the hotel location was convenient and the parking was too. The restaurant customer service wasn't good. We went twice. Both times, after receiving our order, we were never approached again by the staff to see if we wanted to order something else. Both times we had to walk up to the counter to get our bill. We were told that only one drink out of 8 drinks on the menu was available because they didn't have the ingredients for the others. Then we were overcharged for that one drink. We asked a different worker why they had so few ingredients to make drinks and he said that they were short-staffed and didn't want to take the time to make the more complicated drinks so they just offered the easiest drink on the menu (which the system overcharges). On our second night, our room filled with cigarette smoke which seemed to come in through the air conditioning unit. We called the reception and they said they would try to take care of it. The strong smoke smell stayed in our room for the rest of the night and reception never followed up with us even when we checked out. Also, both days, we were only given two big shower towels but no hand towels. We didn't say anything because we thought it was a mistake the first day but by the second day, we realized this was the housekeeper's standard practice. We feel this hotel and especially the restaurant have a lot of potential but they need to train the staff better. And although the staff told us they were short-staffed and too busy to make drinks, most of the time, they were hanging out together behind the counter talking with each other or texting on their cell phones. We still enjoyed our stay but we feel customer service needs to be improved.

Reception was clean, room was clean, door jammed a bit so I had to get help opening it. You also need chrome to connect to the wifi (FYI).

The experience was not as good as it should. First, one of the waitress was not very kind. She was really very slow the first night. She took 10 min to take me a soda. I complained, and after that moment she always acted annoyed by my presence. The check out process was bad. I needed a late check out. I asked the people on the counter and they spended ten minutes on a computer, afterward they inform me "all set up". But no. Next day none knew about it. In fact, I was acussed by the head-waitress to having innored the check out time.

It wasn't good at all. I realized the houskeeping service is not the best level that a guest expect to have in every hotel. I believe one star hotel should keep good service and perfectly clean rooms the dame as a 5 stars hotel. At the end it makes all the good experience.

I have complained several times about service quality in the city of Antofagasta. I am glad to have found the opposite at Ibis hotel Antofagasta. Service quality is better than other Ibis hotels in Chilean cities such as Santiago or Copiapó. Check in was fast and they offered me a complementary drink for my Accor Hotels membership. I didn't have to ask for it and that was appreciated. One problem I found at the room was the security box didn't work. This was the opportunity to test if they solve any problem within 15 minutes, as they advertise. I called the reception desk and in less than 10 minutes, the technician was at the room fixing the box. Problem solved. Restaurant personnel were very efficient. I would like to give a special mention to Maria for her kindness. Breakfast includes the IBIS basics such as bread, scrambled eggs, cheese, a variety of ham, variety of fruit, juice, coffee. I would like to highlight the pastries, prepared sandwiches, scrambled eggs with ham and waffles. Room and bathroom were clean. The TV worked with no problems. Fast internet connection. No problems at all during check-out.
