It was almost everything according to what I expected but I had a bad experience one night with the sudden appearance of a big cockroach in my bed. I could not believe it, even considering I was on the 6th floor. Fortunately I called reception and they offered my a room change, but since it was too late I asked for the use of insecticide outside the window and outside my room in the door. Another situation was the out of order of one of the lifts, so the time to go down and up was longer every day. I good experience the next day, is that I asked for a thin bed sheet and a lower pillow and both were provided. The breakfast was really OK.

Nice hotel in the north of Merida, close to small shops and walking distance to the main street in the center of the city. It's situated in a safe area, next to other hotels. The breakfast was varied, bar prices were reasonable. Standard Ibis room, just what you would expect in Europe for instance. Thanks for the stay.

Hotel fails miserably with any hotel standard - Expensive at 50 usd

Staff lies from checkin to checkout: A Platinum member, booked through Accor, no welcome drink offered, was given a room with only a bed, not the Ibis standard, and informed all rooms are equal. My stay was fully flexible, could cancel it; Manager comes up to secure business replacing with a room, Ibis standard, but at the cheap side... cracked basin and stained mirror, giving out the cheapness of the hotel. No amenities whatsoever. No safe box in the room. At night, lying there, notice bed smells sour, woke up several times with bad smell. Changed pillows, rotated blanket, decided to sleep with clothes on, a/c at full blast and window open. Mattress smelled nasty. At checkout hotel informed charge would be the same as Accor booking, yet dared to charge 10% more on credit card. Upon Accor evidence it took them 30 minutes to give money back, no apologies. The positive spin is with location, good, not ideal due to being on the wrong side of Paseo de Montejo, a 35 minute walk to down town, under a scorching weather. If they treat this bad a Platinum customer, imagine what they might do to the average guest. Expensive and so much better options at lower prices in this lovely city. I cannot recommend at all.
