Too basic hotel, becoming dilapidated. The shower cabin door was broken, moldy. The breakfast offers low quality meat cuts. The only good thing is the bed, it is comfortable. Room textiles are of the dark, uncomfortable colors.

The hotel sticks to ibis standards, which is good, because one gets what one expects. Rather far from the city centre, but bearable and compensated with a nice view over the Volga from higher floors. Yet, there's always room for improvement: some decoration, especially in the bathroom, already needs repair/renovation; rooms are no soundproof from the corridor, every door closing or talk there is very well heard; no shoe horn or sponge in the room was a surprise; early mornings in the lobby and restaurant feature weird drunk guests. Nonetheless, all in all in was a nice stay in a good ibis.

All fine other than for booking problem

There were particular problems re making the booking. I got through to the on-line site and having waited for a very long time decided to phone the hotel. I spoke to the perso who answere said I had a problem and also said that I did not expect to pay the higher price for having to phone. The phone was put down on me. I tried 7/,8 times more to phone but although it rang no-one answered. I tried again to book on-line and was now informed the hotel was fully booked.Later I tried on=line again and managed to get a booking.

The hotel is a bit far away from city centre but can be reached by tram or bus quite easily. The room is clean and tidy except the air conditioning is not cool enough in summer time. The restaurant is good with many waiters capable to communicate in English.
