I found the duvet very short and the cushion very high, so I did not sleep very comfortably. The rest it was ok.

This was a very disappointing experience. The prominently displays promotional materials boasting hoe the IBIS Budget is a smoke free hotel. On entering our family room, the smell of cigarette smoke was obvious and then we discovered discarded cigarette ash UNDER THE NO SMOKING PLACARD for the room!!!. Upon complaining to the reception staff, they didn't apologise but blamed previous guests for ignoring the no smoking rule. This clearly poses a problem that if it was the previous guests that left the cigarette ash, then this implies that the room was not properly cleaned between guests. The alternative can therefor only be that the IBIS staff are accessing the rooms, smoking in them and brazenly leaving their discarded ash for guests to find. I am not sure which of these scenarios I find more disgusting. We were given a different family room with a much less favourable outlook from the window and were amazed to find cigarette ash under the no smoking placard AGAIN!! What are the odds?? Another recalcitrant guest, a bizarre coincidence, OR is this a hotel wide protest against the smoking policy of the IBIS hotel staff? I am not more than a silver member of the Accor group but this means that I use Accor group hotel with enough frequency to know the standard that should be expected at each level of hotel in the group. This is clearly one of the worst experiences I have had and it follows from a recent poor experience in the Mercure Bordeaux which I have previously reviewed in this feedback form and received a and standard form apology with whimsical commitments to review the service standards in place. I am becoming convinced that this is endemic in the Accor brands from budget to premium and am tired of it. I implore you to take meaningful action to improve this situation and return to the standards that gave me my initial confidence and loyalty to the Accor brand. This is fast eroding. I have only given direct feedback through the Accor customer survey channel to date but feel increasingly compelled to post my story on public review sites and social media to alert other unwary travellers. Especially when this is a story about public health and the health of my family with regard to an ineffective and poorly managed no smoking policy.

Dear Mr. R., We appreciate your writing with your impressions. Since January 1st, we are committed to making our hotel a smoke-free place. As you have written we have put up signs of non-smoking both at the reception and at the hotel's passageways and in the rooms. We always inform that we can to our clients of this policy. I agree with you that the measures we take are not enough to prevent customers from smoking in the rooms. To this day we also do not have enough support to be able to avoid it with the public administrations. On the other hand, if your room had ashes on the desk, allow me to apologize, this really embarrasses me, the room should be perfectly clean. Thank you for the opportunity to apologize and to be able to offer you 2000 Le Club points in compensation for the poor service offered. I know this will not erase your impression but for us it is a humble apology. Sincerely, Eukene

It was a relaxing time thank you. But you must enforce your no smoking policy better...my first room (i asked to change) was smelling of disgusting smoke...my second room also slightly!

Reasonable stay staff very helpful mostly. Except for when I reported the. air conditioning not working when the receptionist said it was because the weather was changing and that I should open the window! Never heard such rubbish! Breakfast buffet was very good.

Lovely people and service but the reception staff were expected to man the reception and the bar. You cannot expect reception staff to be good at bar service without training. They did not know how to pour draught beer or when to clean pipes or how to clean them. As you charge higher than average for drinks from the bar you must also provide a skilled service Overall the staff were very helpful and attentive and the room acceptable
