We had an overnight at the Tour Blanche last week. Check in was a bit slow--we had to sit in the bar and wait for quite a while for a room, which was annoying because we had paid extra for early check in. The room itself was small and basic, but with all the necessary bits. I liked that we had a separate loo and that there was a coffee maker. The view of the mosque was excellent and we were quite comfortable. The highlight of the hotel for us was the restaurant. The food and the service were both completely top notch and we would certainly stay again if only for the food! The waiters were fantastic. I've stayed at 5-star properties all over the world, but the staff here are a match for any of them. They had a perfect blend of professionalism, helpfulness, and sincere warmth that made us feel very welcome. We had dinner in the hotel and also enjoyed a continental breakfast there that was nothing short of amazing. I really liked the location as there was a market area across the street and another good restaurant, should we fancy variety, just around the corner.

We had quite a few issues with our room, the initial room provided was not as promised on the reservation and had filthy windows we could not look out of. We were offered a free upgrade which was appreciated except the shower flooded the entire bathroom whenever used and when I called to report it multiple times no one came/ it was never resolved. Well this trip was saved by a few lovely staff working in your facility so be very grateful for them. First, Nassima and Maha in the 2nd floor spa, these ladies were as sweet as pie and so accommodating. They were super helpful and a pleasure to talk to when taking a break from my boyfriend. Maha made me traditional morrocian tea which was delicious and a wonderful gesture. I really enjoyed talking with these ladies. Lastly, Jawal the concierge, he was super attentive and offered the best suggestions on things to do and places to eat. I had no idea of what to do and was a little concerned we were not going to enjoy Casablanca as much as Marrakech, but thanks to jawal, he saved the trip!! So thank you to these particular staff members.

We had booked two adjoining rooms with ocean view and I received an email from the reservation manager a week in advance confirming that indeed we had adjoining rooms with ocean view. It was important for us to get adjoining rooms as we have 4 kids. On the day we arrived we were informed there are no adjoining rooms and we got two rooms without ocean view. We complained and the next day we received one room with the ocean view and one without view. And still no adjoining rooms. Later that day the kids had to move in another room with ocean view. Finally we had two rooms with ocean view but they were not adjoining rooms. We complained again and one front end staff (Imaan) really felt bad that our kids were separated and we had already moved 3 times. Imaan informed us that she had spoken to the manager and they we moving us to a suite with an adjoining room. Finally on day 3, we had an adjoining room with ocean view and we had to move 4 times. This was simply terrible experience. Breakfast was horrible and we got charged extra for breakfast even though that we had picked a room that included breakfast. The selection for breakfast is very limited and you get the same thing everyday. We stayed at the hotel for 5 days and you get sick of eating the same thing for 5 days. We wanted to purchase a local SIM card for our phone. We were told it would cost 50 MAD. I had a 100 MAD bill and I gave it to the concierge for the SIM card, he told me that I will get my change back when I get the SIM card. I never got my change back. The worst of all was that another SIM card was delivered to our room and it was charged to room. So we got two SIM cards and we paid a total of 150 MAD instead of 100. We kept both SIM cards as my wife used one and I used one. Up until now I have not received my 50 MAD back. Swimming pool experience was another disaster. I went to the pool which is on second floor with 3 of my kids. We did not bring any towels because I assumed that we will get towels at the pool. I asked the pool attendant for towels and she said that I have to go get it from my room. I was shocked that a 5-star hotel does not provide towels at the pool. I called front desk and they told me, that I can get towel from the pool itself. But the pool attendant said there is no towel at the pool. So I had to leave my 3 kids in pool by themselves and go back to the room to get towels. We never went back for swimming again in that pool.We usually book hotels with swimming pool as my kids spend lots of time in the pool. We stayed here for 5 nights and the swam for only one hour! To make up for all the troubles that we went through the hotel gave us a free dinner, but our vacation was spoiled and I don't want another family to have a similar experience like us. So please avoid this hotel. Next time in Casablanca, I am not staying in this hotel! And I still want the 50 MAD back the concierge owe me for the SIM card. I don't really care about the money but I question the honesty of the staff! I would like to hear back from the Jerome Lobier, the general manager.

Room was ok, very complicated lighting set up making it difficult to find the right light switches. AC was not working either too hot or too cold. Very strange mattress with some type of pillows building up a bump in the middle of the bed making it difficult to sleep. Left my airposds in the room but could never find them again. Asked front office to look into this but they never came back to me. Bought new ones at the airport. Breakfast was good all in all, excellent selection. Staff were a bit distant, once tea was served it was difficult to get service again, waving, calling etc... asked for ketchup with my eggs but the food worst necer came back until the eggs were cold and I got up to find another one who gave me a jar in 10 seconds. All in all it was not what I expected from a Sofitel.
