« Hotel run for the employees but not the guests »

The hotel has nice rooms and up to date amenities, but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. While friendly, they are definitely not guest oriented and need significant additional training. It took literally forever to be served lunch one day - over an hour. We went down for breakfast one day before 11 am on Saturday, and they refused us service saying that they had to prepare for a banquet and that they were no longer serving even though it was before 11. At dinner one evening, there was a very loud band in the bar, while other guests were trying to enjoy a quiet dinner - totally unacceptable. Some of the staff was very attentive, while others were anything but and not guest oriented. While the hotel has a good central location, I would not recommend it to a friend.

Overall good stay, some problems but fixed dilligently. A broken piece in the shower and the toilet. I would not expect such problems in the Sofitel but staff took care of it quickly and effectively.The room had a view on the bathroom which couldn't be close, so it is not pleasant for sleeping.Maha at the Spa is very professional.

« Not worth the price »

Definitely the classic room did not deserve the price paid. Windows facing a building. At arrival, the person at the parking gate insisted that the parking was only for cars and insisted in leaving my motorbike outside. That was not very welcoming for a 5 star hotel. The parking itself was a "sauna", due to all the airco systems and machinery. In the end, the Sofitel Casablanca was the wrong choice.

Excellent personnel, very helpful and honest. Zhirou at reception has rare quality of integrity. A family member left her jewelry box in the room and realized after we were 400 Kim’s away. I called, Zhirou checked and found the box and returned it to us intact. The receptionist that checked us in also went beyond the call of duty. However, the breakfast service was a chaotic disaster except for Mr Camara. And the air conditioning was not working in common areas, which is unacceptable for 5 star hotel. It was hot and muggy.

Satisfying. Staff was great and hote looks good. But there are some issues: The theme for the hotel is black; might be modern, but it is too dark to our taste. At the restaurant l'atelier, food was good, but the sitting is incomfortable: chairs are too low, you don't have a back rest on the bench. Last hours of our stay, water start leaking in the walking closet. Fortunately we had already packed.
