My first stay in Dalian Grand Mercure Teda, The hotel employee are polite and receptive. Originally I have booked to stay for 8 nights but shorten my stay due to the hotel amenities and facilities are not in full operational and the front office Ms. Alice Lian (front office manager) and her team employee are doing their best to accommodate the best way they can to guests. I feel this hotel soft opening is not properly their senior management. The hotel has a good employed team of workers; it is the hotel amenities and facilities that led the hotel employee down.

great stay, nice room, friendly staff. mints drive to the ciity center, rooms got great mountain view. I've stayed in Mercure for many times, the quaility has been consist over the years. complimentary fruit and desert on arrival. The room is clean and comfortable.

Well taken care of by kind attention of Corbin GSM Hotel quiet due time of year....but we enjoyed all the amenities and the property is excellent as is the chinese restaurant and its seafood!

Never expected such warm welcome from any hotel, let alone one in China. But, it happened. All credit goes to FOM Alice Lian, who made it all possible, turning an otherwise cold hotel room into a home, warm and cosy, inside out. We were given the best possible treatment and attention in our three nights there in Grand Mercure Dalian Teda. Everything and every service was made available to us, freely and unconditionally, literally at beck and call. This was a dream stay. It was not just Grand Mercure. It was not just Accor Platinum; it was unimaginably a class of its own - SuperAccorPlus, no less, all because of one super warm-hearted lady, Ms Alice Lian. Thank you, 连经理小姐。太好了。

The hotel location is close to a local market, very convenient to get food/fruit. The reception is nice and kind. Room is large and bed is soft. Everyting is perfect.

Hotel Description: The location of the hotel is wonderful and not crowded overlooking the back of the mountain a wonderful and beautiful view, 10 minutes to the center by taxi The room is wonderful and great, clean, good decor, clean bathroom. I liked the hotel staff were all welcome and smiling and everyone helps us. The problem of the hotel is the breakfast restaurant, it must be developed, the food must be varied, the food is lacking, the daily breakfast buffet does not change, there is no food for vegetarians or fish, there is no cheese at all, the hotel has 11 nights, the first two days there was orange juice, Orange can find apple juice, grapefruit and milk only . I hope to look and change their menu style. There is no other buffet restaurant for dinner with a Japanese restaurant and a Chinese restaurant that must be served by the staff. Finally, I thank the management of the hotel and all the employees for their hospitality to me and thank the people of Dalian for hosting me in their wonderful city.

I tended to stay in the non-smoking room but the non-smoking room level might not be available on the day I checked-in so I just called the front desk to do the smoke-free treatment for me. I stayed in the room for about 2 hours before leaving for dinner and no one ever came. Then I called the front desk again for the nightly turn down service. Since I took a shower before leaving, there ought to be some supplement of toiletries. After I got back, the toiletries remained the same... The same situation for the tea bag on the mini bar. As a platinum membership of SPG/Marriott, I feel kinda disappointment with this stay of Accor...

Grand Mercure Teda is good and excellent services in Dalian. Although the location is not in the central city but still in the nice suburb of Dalian and not far from the city. Overall experience staying there for 2 nights was good experience for visiting beautiful city of Dalian with specific caracter of the city.

Hotel is nice, rooms are large and clean. As a Silver member, however, I was disappointed that my welcome drink was only juice and not a beer or glass of wine option. Breakfast was an odd mix of Eastern and Western styles. Bed was SUPER hard.

This hotel is truly appalling. How the Accor Group can put one of its hotel brands on the front of this hotel just amazes me, especially a five star brand being Mecure Grand. It is a complete and utter joke that this hotel could have the word Grand in its name. It is nothing of the sorts. I have stayed at better 3 star Ibis Styles hotels than Mecure Grand Teda Dalian. I have stayed at this hotel 4 times in the last 4 years and from the first time I vowed not to return on the assumption that surely Accor would open a Novotel or Sofitel in Dalian. However there is still no Novotel or Sofitel so, being a loyal Accor Le Club member, I have had to endure staying at Mecure Grand every time I visit Dalian. This hotel is a western branded hotel but it is more Chinese than Chinese hotels I have had the misfortune to sometimes stay at. I have stayed in the executive guest rooms as well as the normal guest rooms and used the executive lounge. What is wrong with this hotel that makes it appalling? Where do I start? No or little English spoken, rude staff, lasy concierge, an executive lounge where the food, drink and business services are appalling – practically non existent. The main restaurant for breakfast is the worst dining area I have ever experienced – the breakfasts are a disgrace – minimal, mainly Chinese, poor quality, cold, rude and unhelpful non English speaking staff including the head chef who yelled at me because I wanted scrambled eggs and he didn't want to cook them that way – he wanted me to eat the cold left over fried eggs! The breakfast was appalling back in 2011 and it has just got worse. On a previous visit I was refused entry at the restaurant for breakfast one morning because the pre authority on my credit card had been reached. Instead of politely asking me to go to reception and increase my pre-authority limit the very rude duty manager just said No! I had to find out from reception what the problem was. This was also when I was staying in an executive suite.! Just appalling! Other issues include a safe that wouldn't work and two staff made me wait whilst they argued over how to fix it instead of doing what I asked – take a safe out of one of the many other empty rooms and put in my room and fix the safe in their time not my time. I was delayed in getting to breakfast for a hour because of this incompetence. In the same building there is a Mecure hotel but it and the Mecure Grand are all serviced as one – reception, restaurant and concierge. I don't think this hotel will ever change as I doubt if the non-Chinese senior management of Accor in China really know how bad this hotel is.

We stay for a transfer flights so we stay a night only. The staff are nice and helpful. However, the food taste bad which is located at the ground floor. It's salty and feel bad for the dining. I hope they could concerned about this issue.

Hotel service normal, room is not big as expect. Traffic is ok, but only few restaurants nearby. Travel to downtown by taxi about 10 minutes. Swimming pool people is not much. Dalian airport is easy get fog and delay flight.

Check-in: Pleasant service. Room: Needed a good vacuuming job Service: Only allotted 2 bottles of water. When I asked for more, I was told I've reached my limit of 2 for the day... I had to drop that fact that I have a gold card to get any attention... then i finally got my 2 waters. But should I have had to? No. Other hotels bring bottles of water by the armful when I ask for extras... It just seemed a bit cheap on their end figuring that it only costs 1 rmb to put 2 bottles of water in the room. Plus, I am sure not paying 25rmb for the chargeable bottle in the room. Breakfast: Don't pay for it if you don't have to. For 108rmb... it is a waste. Filthy place mats, nothing hot except noodles, narrowing selection of juice and meat as days went on, and quite boring menu as it doesn't change. Pool: Large and fairly clean. No one hassled me when I didn't wear my swim cap... but I think I might be an exception to the rule ;) Checkout: Little hassle over billing but got sorted out. The thing that got me is that no one wants to take responsibility for anything anymore. I had spoken with a front desk assistant earlier and she said something different than the person checking me out. Instead of researching the issue or apologizing, I was told that the first person was wrong and that was that... It's very easy to pass the blame, but to be respected... own up to your company's mistake and make it better. We had to guide the front desk with how to deal with the issue, which got it worked out... but isn't my job as customer. Overall... it's an ok hotel. They are just a bit cheap with trying to make an extra buck. It's a tough economy and I understand, but when it's a 4 star hotel... it shouldn't be like this.
