Aside from the Harbour Hotel (different price point) this is the best hotel we have stayed in Bristol. Great location, traditional room decor and layout. Adequate parking albeit a little pricey. Good service from all staff we encountered. Will be back, and happy to recommend

Good apart from room service

Hotel and service excellent. However room service took ages to arrive by which time to tired to eat, also no cutlery provided so couldn’t have eaten the nachos even if I had wanted to. Basically water £24! Not happy at all.

Excellently located and good value on a Friday Night.

The hotel was perfectly suited for the purpose of my visit - coming by train to a maritime history conference at the SS Great Britain. From the hotel Bristol Temple Meads station was a 10 minute walk and Brunel's ship a 20 minute stroll by the waterside. The room was good, the staff friendly and the breakfast great!

At check in I wasn't recognised as a LeClub member and haven't been offered the usual drink voucher. Later on I called room service several times and they didn't pick up the phone; when I was finally able to order (after having called 5/6 times) the person who delivered the food in my room wasn't very friendly. Apart from that the room was OK and in good cleaning condition.

Very happy with hotel and facilities, shame that paper cups not glasses provided in room; car park charges a bit steep

Enjoyed the hotel location, pleased with the standard of the room, and its cleanliness. This hotel is vastly superior to the Grand, both in presentation and room specification.

Why 200 Characters?

Visitor Couples - 06/09/2019 AccorHotels review

I did give you a very good, but brief, review but your website wouldn't accept it because it wasn't 200 characters. I then passed it out with filler "xxxxx" but then I was accused of not writing in English so I just gave up. I'm sure you would receive a lot more reviews if you didn't impose a 200 character limit without telling folk about it until after they have wasted time typing a shorter review. (Actually that might be your other review request for Trope Advisor... just take credit when you get it and why ask folk twice??

I stayed for 1 night with daughter and 2 grandchildren. Reception staff were very cheerful and helpful. The hotel is well located to get to all the attractions. The hotel room was very spacious, clean and quiet. Not sure I liked the aircon - think I would have preferred to open the windows. Beds were OK. Loved having the fridge although it did take a while to get cold. The breakfast was fab - huge choice. Swimming pool was brilliant - loved having towels to use.

The room & breakfast was ok but the towels in my bathroom were on the floor! Moreover, there was hair (!) in the shower. Did report that to reception who said housekeeping would go back to the room . When returned in the evening the hair was still in the shower that means that wasn't cleaned even after my complaint!

No parking spaces - this should be mentioned when booking. Beds were nice, overall room was dark and not as clean as we would be expecting. Unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Pool area needs painted. Would not recommend.

The staff at front desk were super helpful and accommodating. Extending check out by an hour was no problem. Room was clean, comfortable and had great facilities.

Oana Friends - 02/09/2019 AccorHotels review

It was a nice stay, I would choose this hotel again if coming to Bristol. There was a small issue on check in when our type of room was given to our friends who booked a Standard double but we got a complimentary upgrade so it got sorted quickly. We found the room very clean, big and soft drinks included which is a nice touch. At breakfast, staff seated us were we liked and there were plenty of option to choose from. Many thanks.

Good value room... as others have warned, beware the parking charge and not a great gym

Customer review rating 4.1/5

Bill G. Couples - 02/09/2019 AccorHotels review

The hotel itself is great, good location and comfortable beds. Dressing gowns and slippers for the pool. The staff are friendly and we even got an offer of a free welcome drink when we arrived (which due to timing we did not take up). Downsides? the gym is pretty cramped and basic (just one exercise bike - which was in use). The gym equipment (treadmills etc.) has a particularly confusing interface which is obviously aimed at the American market (default language, units etc). The pool is very shallow and is really for families not for exercise. The main criticism (as others have noted) is the expensive car parking. Fortunately, I saw the warning from other reviewers and parked elsewhere (much cheaper - and we didn't have much luggage). On a similar note - the breakfast is expensive and you are in the centre of town (there are lots of cheaper options).
