There was no trolley to move the baggage from the reception to the room & I had around 10 big bags. You need to arrange a trolley for transportation of baggage. This was the only irritating and disturbing moment for me during the stay. The thought of moving out was a nightmare. However the crew at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Also there is no drinking water filling point. It would be nice if you could provide a tap for drinking water.

« Meet our needs »

The highlight of our stay was your staff- they were very friendly, helpful and engaging. A credit to you! The room was adequate but the cleaners were average- After using the washers the first night they were never replaced. No hand towel at anytime- one per day would be sufficient. I didn’t expect the beds to be made fresh but one day the quilt was not between two sheets and I don’t think the bathrooms were wiped over at all. One occasion in the evening we needed to use the bathroom on level one and both the men’s and women’s were dirty.

Staff were polite and friendly and very helpful. It was nice to arrive and have been upgraded to one of the renovated rooms.

« Never ending renovations »

This hotel is having much needed renovations. However, unlike most hotels which would close during renovations, this hotel continues to operate. Guests are offered noise, dust and inconvenience 7 days a week. As I am not keen on hammer drills and dust, l will not be going back there. Check on the renovation status before booking.

Dear keng495, We are really sorry about your situation. Please accept our sincerely apology. For an old hotel like us, to make it better, renovation is the only way unfortunately. For what we gathered information from Melbourne council is that we can operate the business while we are doing renovation. That is why we are still open to public. But please be minded that we only work during the day time and not always we would make noise. We will not make any noise during the night time in order to provide a good sleep for our customers. « Location great, Hotel very basic »

The room we stayed in was very tired. Furniture, paint and carpet needed updating, also the cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired. Bathroom was okay. Check-in was fine, and hotel is in convenient location.

« The pause that refreshes »

After a long flight from Darwin, it was great to check in to Ibis Styles Kingsgate. I was allocated one of the recently refurbished ground floor rooms. It was handy to the reception and when I entered, it was clean and fresh. All the amenities functioned as expected and I had an excellent and refreshing night's sleep. I had a lot more travelling to do. The shower was excellent but the door doesn't close firmly and I ended up with a lot of water on the bathroom floow. The soap holder, affixed to the wall in ROOM 015 wasn't securely fastened and had slipped and waz only held semi level by catching on the other shower wall.

Room was nice. Beds were comfortable. Front staff were really nice and really helpful. It would be nice if there were 2 switches that you could use in the room to dim part of the lights as the room was very bright.
