Flying in from Brisbane and catching the Sky Bus, Ibis Styles made logistics for our weekend very easy and not having to pay expensive taxi or uber fees or lug our luggage all around town.

I only stated 2 nights. My rooms was with brand new furniture and fitouts. The only problem was noise. I felt the ceilings were thin and I could hear people speaking in their rooms on top floor above my room

« Renovations directly across from our room »

Due to the renovations directly across from the room we were placed in- this resulted in an extremely disappointing stay. We have stayed several times before and always thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However this time it was beyond disappointing. Our room felt dirty due to the dust just outside our room from the renovations. There was banging and drilling from the time we checked in until we had to leave for a dinner. It appeared all quiet when we got back. But to be woken at 6.50am to drilling and banging was ridiculous. I am a mother of 2 young children, when I get the luxury of having a night away- it was very very very annoying to be woken up well before I had to. If I had been informed before booking my room that there was renovations going on- there would be no way I would have stayed.

My sister and I checked in on 26th and checked out on the 27th. We were both amazed and highly appreciative of the facts that we got an early check in. Rebecca at the reception was an absolute gem. « did not meet my expectations »

The room was not what i booked , was a sock and pair of under pants left on the floor , obviously from a previous guest. Air cond was not working correctly , i removed the filters and cleaned them myself ( blocked solid ). I mentioned all these complaints at the front desk when checking out and was given a blank look and told that maybe i should talk to someone else

Noisy, dirty room thin walls unfriendly staff at the desk. The room was supposedly refurbished broken tap in the bathroom. 1 positive the bed was comfortable.

I am an Accor member and have been trying the different hotels with their $1 breakfast deal... all other hotels have offered us the full breakfast, but your hotel tell us in the first morning that we have only continental and must pay for hot breakfast... also the room service is terrible... you have to put the sign out to have it cleaned and then when it is cleaned they empty the bins but leave empty plastic bottles and rubbish in the floor

Little bit disappointed with the breakfast options as its only got toast and museli... Also in the room we don't have any choices for drink, only got one instant coffee and one tea.. When I asked green tea, the receptionist said they don't have one,but overall it's very good stay and comfortable... Very helpful team

It was good, although 428 room is very small considering its two bed room. I have seen other rooms where my friends were staying which are single bed, are big rooms. Microwave facility at reception should be there if not in each room.

It was ok staff wonderful but really should have been made aware of Reno... The room was small cosy even but you couldn't use the aircon as it overheated the room even at lowest heat setting so had to turn it off and wear basically trackies and long sleeves too bed...

I had one of the refurbished rooms (015) and it was excellent. Clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet, location very close to Southern Cross - this was an ideal hotel, for me. In price it falls inexpensively between the luxury hotels and the seedy hotels - yet Ibis Styles Kingsgate is every bit as nicely appointed as I could wish - good bed, good shower, nice toiletries, helpful and pleasant staff - staying here was everything I could wish for. As for the price, it is significantly better than comparably priced hotels in the CBD. It seems to me that hotels rarely strike the right balance in anticipating what travellers want - either too much or too little; I suspect this one will be pitching exactly right for a great number of people.
