The room has changed dramatically in size since last time I stayed at ibis styles kingsgate. There was no space to put my suitcase so I had to step over it every time I wanted to go to the bathroom or out the door. I don’t think I’ll be stay at this hotel again.

I normally stay over the river but due to conferences hotels were booked up. I found this Ibis to be a few stars short of where i normally stay BUT the room was bigger than expected and had everything i needed!! The building is old and the coridoors winding like a maze. The breakfast was average The staff were polite and friendly I would stay there again

Rooms were cleaned every day. The only thing wrong with the bathroom was no tolet brush to clean the toilet if required. Front staff very pleasant. Would stay at the hotel next time we are in Melbourne

Room Very old , bed worn out , pillows flat & lumpy , all night awake with sore necks, asked for more pillows, got more flat worn out pillows, toilet seat not screwed on, shower door didn't close water all over floor , tiles on floor very slippery, curtains kept sliding open after you closed them

« I have stayed at better hostels »

Ibis styles, should be ibis viles. I knew when I booked that this was the 'budget' version of ibis but this was truly terrible. Threadbare carpet, dodgy bedroom furniture constant buzzing noise from outside with a window that did not close. Breakfast room was very poor as well. Accor hotels should be embarrassed this is part of the group

We arrived on the 18th and were given our key/card. When we opened the door to our room my wife nearly banged into the bathroom door, too close. We had to sidle around the bed as it was too small a gap, I banged my head on the TV. There was no where to put the cases. My Wife and Daughter went down to complain and was told there was no other rooms available. At the same time a person walked in off the street said he didn’t have a booking but was told no problem there was rooms available. So we went back to the room rang another hotel and booked there and handed our key into the reception, there is no way we would stay at any of the Ibis hotels again. as the response was disinterested and I felt we were being laughed at. NOT VERY WELCOMING

Unfortunately on Sat 18th we did not have more superior rooms available but few non-refurbished economy rooms that were booked overnight, that is why we were unable to offer a room move upon check in. Ibis Styles should be renamed to Ibis vile.Welcomed by unprofessional staff in grubby looking clothes. I then made my way up to my room which had threadbare carpet, dodgy furniture and a loud humming noise which would not go away as the window wouldn't close.Overall everything was clean but appearance was bad.Breakfast leaves something to be desired with canteen style layout.

The room was smaller than expected, bed was small and somewhat uncomfortable for two people to share. Shower was broken but your lovely reception staff fixed that for us straight away. Tv didn’t pick up channels majority of the time and when it did it glitched. Other than that our stay was quiet and clean. I chose the hotel because I had stayed there prior but left feeling disappointed because the experience I had this time was far less than the one I had last.

« Staying right where I needed to be. »

A great location in the CBD, at a very reasonable rate. Efficient helpful staff, $1 for breakfast add on special offer, a guest lounge to sit in or work in with newspapers and enough space for a business traveller in the room. Building works were happening but there was not a noise factor to disrupt.

Staff were all great and very helpful. My problems were with the room: - the bed was very hard and uncomfortable - in the middle of the night despite all the windows being shut I woke up to a very strong smell of cigarette smoke (perhaps coming through a vent somewhere...?)

No major problems, nothing outstanding. Not sure if my room has been renovated or not. Basic continental breakfast - bread options were pretty sad! Staff at reception, both on arrival snd departure, were first class!

« Stay was awesome and service desk was very friendly and helpful »

Great location. Friendly service desk. Clean room. Suggest to change the tap of the shower to single tap adjustable for cold and hot water to ease control of water temperature. The two classic taps were really difficult to turn off tight, otherwise the shower will keep leaking.
