The rooms and bathrooms are very small, you don't have hand towels in the rooms. I was told you were short staffed so no one could help me with my bags, yet 3 staff can stand around joking and laughing loudly at reception. At breakfast the first 6 plates were dirty, and the knife's were also dirty and no salt was at my table. Staff loved to stand around talking, so involved you cant walk past them easily.

Booking online was frustrating as it told me that it was fully booked, but rang in for a 35 minute wait to talk to reception to find rooms available. But the stay was pleasant and accommodating.

The room was clean and well-serviced but the food was very average. I have stayed here several times - once the food I got from the restaurant wasn't even on my account. I had to explain what I has eaten. - there was $100 you could have lost if I was less honest. The person on the desk didn't seem to take this mistake seriously at all. Staff are friendly but disengaged...too laid back...and not invested in what they are doing. This is most likely due to management not setting the right example...so I'm not blaming the workers here; they live up or down to expectations set further up the line.

Everything was great the food was especially good, one thing though make sure the staff check the milk expires as I had a take away coffee made and when I got in the car and took a sip the milk was off :(

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. I had a nice stay. The food I had from the restaurant was good. I would have liked to see a full room service option and would have been happy to pay a delivery fee for that as lots of other hotels do. Other than this small suggestion I was happy with the stay and the service.

The only challenge was due to the invoicing system, that did not synchronize well with Council's requirements. this is something to think about in the future. Also, would like to see more up-front clarity about wi-fi charges at time of booking.

Really enjoyed my room - #377, view out onto the river was lovely. Fridge was noisy so I actually unplugged it on my second night to get a better sleep. Restaurant dinner and breakfast were very enjoyable. Reception service, car valet etc was great. One uncomfortable incident at the bar with Reece. Rangi ( who seemed new ) was capably and confidently serving me, then Reece came over and sought payment from me, while Rangi was organising my order. Reece then turned to Rangi and said "you should always take payment first". Rangi looked extremely embarrassed and I felt uncomfortable for her. I then said to Reece " You maybe could have waited until I'd gone, before you told her that", he didn't respond to me at all. Rangi was then our waitress at dinner and she did a fantastic job, sharing advice on our menu queries and repeating back orders etc. She seems like a great new member of staff that Reece could probably learn from. Reece also tended to our dinner table and we found him quite short and rude in his service. He also removed my colleagues dessert plate before she'd finished. Fabulous experience with Poppy the next morning on breakfast shift. There were empty tables that hadn't been cleared, so she invited us to take a table, get our breakfast and she will have our table cleared. When we returned to the table it had not been cleared so we just pushed things aside and began our breakfast. Poppy noticed and came over and apologised profusely and then offered us a free coffee which was lovely.

Once again we had an enjoyable stay. Our initial room had a problem with the air-con but we were changed to another room immediately it was found it was going to be an inconvenience too us. All the room facilities were great. The breakfasts were as always, very good. There was a problem with the card access reader in the lift and even one of the staff couldn't get it operating properly but it was a minor problem. Overall we are more than happy with the experience at the Ibis.
