Great location, friendly staff, rooms nice and clean, close to all amenities and nice view of the Waikato River. Staff went out of their way to make and made our stay enjoyable. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

As usual the accommodation at this Ibis is great. Staff very helpful and courteous. Only 'down' was the breakfast. The bread I chose had mould on one end and also the sausage was not a sausage. It was inedible whatever it was. Will still return.

We had to wait 1 hour and 20min for dinner which when arrived was terrible and missing part of what it should have come with. The meal was uneatable which I pointed out to the duty manager. This is the first time I have ever refused a meal !. It was that bad.

I can honestly say that it was very disappointing to hear of your experience in our restaurant. Your feedback allowed both the Chef and I to evaluate the standards in our departments, so though your comments are a blessing in my eyes, I am sorry that it was at your expense. I can understand how difficult it would have been for you to not only address it with the Duty Manager, but to have sat there for as long as you did and still be hungry, is unacceptable. I have addressed this with my team in that it is not acceptable to have any guest sit in our restaurant for longer than 20minutes without providing the basic service or attention, so for that I apologize. Good greeting on arrival, however Monday night (10th September) dining experience with my nephew was drawn out for over an hour between entre and mains owing the large number of people present or perhaps inadequate staffing levels to cope with the demand. My entre was delivered at the same time as the main lamb pizza which was not good. All other dining experiences were very pleasant. My room 687 has a very strong sewerage smell coming out of the bathroom floor drain. I tried blocking it up with the bathmat placed over the chrome grille, but the smell was still there. Not much I could do about it, as the room was otherwise ok and I was out all day at work.

Generally all went OK. Found the location by the river handy as we did a lot of walking. Found the Tui birds a bonus singing to us in the morning. Good breakfast. Staff friendly. Room statisfactory for short stay.

The stay suited my needs. Only comments for improvements is around the check in and check out which I had to wait quite awhile as there was only one person one when I would have thought would be 'peak' times. Also I suggest having a priority check in for people who have already pre-paid as check in should be quicker.
