« Friendly staff and great location »

We finished our two weeks in China with an upgrade to a suite on the club floor at the Grand Mercure Beijing Central. We caught the airport express then the metro to Xuanwumen station. Exit through B1 and it's a flat five minute walk to the hotel. Hotel is between two metro stations and only two stops from Tiananmen Square and three from the palace.Our suite was a nice room but not comparable to our room at the GM Renmin Square in Xi'an. Bedroom area 'tight' with only one beside table and a very small gap between bed and bathroom door.Breakfast and evening drinks in the lounge were fantastic. Great breakfast with one of the staff even cooking eggs on a small hotplate. Evening drinks the same. Free pour and a large direction of nibbly food.We had a midnight flight. Had already arranged free 3pm checkout due to platinum status but decided to extend to 9pm. Charged full rate of room we originally booked. Money well spent. Sat in club lounge until well after 7:30pm then leisurely shower before we went back out to the airport on the train.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Good stay - would be nice if all the staff was aware of the Bienvenue discounts available. We had to wait 10 minutes each time we wanted to use the card: dinner, breakfast and the bar. The hotel is very nice and well located, staff very helpful. Thank you for the wonderful room, the same type of room for our next stay next week would be amazing.

The location is quite convenient to travel around Beijing, only short walk from the subway station, staff is very helpful with booking for the taxi and the area is nice and safe even for walking at night. I haven't had breakfast in the hotel since I have to leave early for a meeting every days, so I cannot comment on the foods. Staff at the main reception, at the swimming pool and the cleaning ladies are friendly and showed their great service minds. The room was very clean and comfortable. It would be great if some refurbishment could be done since the room seems to be quite shown of the age if not as much as some hotels nearby in the same area. Overall, I'm satisfied with this stay.

Hotel is well placed in the central of Beijing, very closed to market house and central square. Next to hotel is also subway station, so it was very good access for transfer in Beijing. I can recommend this hotel for visitors.

Had a good stay of 2 nights. The front desk staff are helpful, courteous and efficient. Hotel location is great in between 2 subway stations. The beds were so comfortable and towels so clean (and white!). The hotel could do with more lights outside in the night and on its 'logo'. Hard to spot the hotel in the night.

I stayed at Geand Mercury for four days during the recent business trip. It is nicely located within walking distance to three subways and is very close to the main railway station. I had breakfast, dinner, and late drink with business partners and they went well!
