Hotel is literally right across the street from the airport and offers a day package for a rate that was way less than one would expect, however you get what you pay for right? Wrong! Friendly service, nice clean rooms, restaurant on site which was priced discreetly and it has a pool & workout room as well. I will use this hotel again should I ever have the chance to come back to Brazil

The hotel is very beautiful. The reception, restaurant, swimming pool and room was looking new and very clean.Also the employees were very attentive and helped me with all my requests.I did an online check in and requested a baby crib and when I arrived it was there on the room.The food of the restaurant was taste and the breakfast is delicius.

« what I expected »

I've stayed with you three or four times and at the Ibis also. This time I thought I noticed that the difference between you and the Ibis is getting smaller. The Novotel used to be a much better hotel - but it doesn't really feel like that anymore and it's not because the Ibis got better. I liked the fruit offering at breakfast - that was spectacular. I did not like the way the bathroom (759) was maintained. The tower hooks above the toilet were both totally loose, the soap dish in the shower was broken, the shower door does not close properly and thus water leaks onto the bathroom floor, the shower starts with water from the top instead of water from the hand-shower, so when you enter and turn on the tap you get wet from the top before you can set the temperature you desire. It should start with the hand shower. All of this is an indication that you don't have people checking regularly whether everything is ok.

It was regular, for I spent only 5 hours in the hotel and payed a great amount, my room didn't have air conditioner and there was nothing to eat at 4:30 am, the time I left for the airport.

« A place to lay my head before a flight, but not much more »

Check-in and check-out processes were very easy and concise. The hallways had a bit of a hollow feel and quality to them (I can't explain it any other way). The room itself was quite austere; I suppose this is in keeping with Novotel's European-ness, but it made for a feeling of loneliness. Very pleasant and helpful staff, and everything was very clean. I don't know if I'll stay at a Novotel again (the price was my deciding factor), but the hotel in Porto Alegre certainly was not a bad experience. Just austere and lonely.
