« Chateaux course was good, room was satisfactory, but food offering was poor. »

Our experience was average. The golf was good, but we were not allowed to play 9 holes on our last day without paying a full green fee, which was inflexible. The food offering was limited and generally of poor quality - as the hotel is relatively isolated the food offering needs to be wider and of better quality. Service was 'hit and miss' - the staff were not particularly friendly until we had stayed for a few days.

« Little things disappointed us and our guests »

Wonderful property. However, because of a golf tournament during our stay, we came off second best. On arrival we had to deal with our and our guests own luggage, some of our guests were old and unable to do it themselves. I would have thought that a property of this standard and grading should have a dedicated concierge. What really upset us and three of our guests is that we went out for the day and on return at 3.30 pm our rooms had not been serviced !!!! They want to take a nap and rest before going out and could not do so. This is exceptionally poor service. When we asked reception why, they informed us that they clean rooms that check out first! What about your present guests? We went out for dinner in Bordeux and on returning at 1pm our card did not work at the gate and we repeatedly pressed the bell without response from reception, after a while someone came out and so we could get in. On arriving at the Hotel the night manager was smoking outside with a girl! What would have happened if no one came out? Breakfast and breakfast service staff are absolutely wonderful. Service is superb and the breakfast is the best we have experienced on tour in France.

This was our third visit this year. The staff are very helpful and welcoming . The atmosphere is very relaxed. The golf courses are in good condition and the pace of play is steady. We would highly recommend the resort.

Comfortable hotel, although not 4 star In all areas. More storage space in bedrooms, especially drawers for small items, needed. Excellent breakfasts, but more varied menus for dinner would be good.

It is a very nice place to stay. Good environment for relax and very good service! I left my clothes in the hotel room and few days after, I emailed them for the lost item, they found and sent them to Paris efficiently. I appreciated Sam for his helping hand!

We came a long way to play golf and unfortunately lack of flexibility with the booking of our tee times ruined the whole experience. We had booked tee times for the 19 and 20 may and on the 19 nour 4 ball was placed behind a group of some 20 golfers that played a competitipon which resulted in slow play. Reporting this to the golf shop we were met with very little understanding but they admitted that play had been slow. Any way to make things worse the following day without any information from the golf shop our tee time was behind a group of some 30-40 austrian that played a competition obliged to whole out and with HCP ranging from single to +40. Knowing from experience that this would be more like 5-6 our ordeal with constant waiting we were left with the only option to cancel our round of golf and leave the premises. We were refunded the green fee but the dissapointment to travel this far to not be able to play did not feel good. Both experiences could have been avoided with some professional managment and flexibilty from the golf shop. We were only 4 people,one flight and it would have been easy to both days send us out before two big group competition and in particular we are upset of the neglect to not inform us after day one that we were sbject to an even worse experience day two. Apart from that we enjoyed the quality of the rooms and the meals we had in the restaurant.

We arrived fairly late - the welcome was warm and efficient and the room was very comfortable. We had chosen it to have a view on the golf course and and this was a treat. In the morning, we enjoyed a round of golf at the Chateaux course, a challenging but very well maintained and beautiful course. After that, passage at the spa for a swim before a coffee on the deck. Only one day unfortunately but certainly a fantastic and thoroughly relaxing experience!

« It was no real Sofitel Experience »

Friendly welcome and help at reception. Overloaded staff at bar/restaurant. Very dangerous shower design. I lost balance while taking a shower, due to the slight rise between the shower area and the exit area, due to soap the ground got very slick, pulling my legs up from under me and I fell, knocking my head against the back wall. I was briefly unconscious, realized, it was bleeding; after the bleeding didn't stop, I went to reception for directions to the nearest medic. Their information was good. I was driving there, received 9 stitches and returned. After complaining about the slipping danger in the shower, I was informed, the staff would inform the GM. I never heard from her/him. A "I am very sorry" would have been the minimum to be expected.
