I used to stay at the Ibis Bencoolen all the time when I would travel for work to Singapore. I felt it was great value for money. The last time I stayed was 4 years ago and I must admit I was disappointed during my last stay there last week. The room looked shabby, the bathroom needed a good scrubbing and also there must have been a sewer leak somewhere because the bathroom smelled like sewage. In general, the ambience around the entire hotel felt diminished. For the price that I paid (more than SG$200 per night) I will be looking elsewhere for my next stay in Singapore.

I tried calling the housekeeping & reception for at least 5 times, but there was no one answering the call, resulting that I need to go down to the reception. We had taxi called to send us to office, but the "old man" taking care of the traffic scolded the taxi driver and us as well, even if we already walking towards the taxi. Please improve on the hospitality .

A special compliment of recognition to Miss Megan who quickly and professionally handled the check-in process; she has a clear understanding of her duty and was able to answer questions regarding the hotel facilities and the off-site gym. Enjoyable experience, close to public transport and convenience store. A few minor adjustments: The toilet paper holder was not placed at a good location in the bathroom i.e. it was located diagonally behind instead of to our side or in front (attached to the door) Tissue box should be placed on the writing desk not in the bathroom.

This is probably one of the best of many Ibis hotels I have been in. The service was excellent, the variety of breakfast food enormous and the ambiance of the hotel very pleasing.. It is also near three metro stations and within easy walking distance of the Indian and Arab quarters.

The rooms were clean and comfy.The rooms were cleaned when I was out every day without fail. The service was prompt. They even called a cab for me on the day of my checkout.

Quick check in and out. Staff friendly and polite. Rooms clean and bed comfortable. We found it too hot in the room when trying to sleep, even after turning down the air conditioning. We would appreciate the option of having a lighter cotton blanket on the bed instead of the doona.
