« A Cosy hotel with a traditional touch »

Lovely place, old fashion mixed with a modern touch. Public areas as well as the pampering room are well designed for comfort. Staff caring and supportive , my car was taken by the concierge for parking, smiling front desk attendant and of course waiters at the dining area . Location is close to main attractions Dinner was well prepared but ... Breakfast was below the Sofitel standard , s very poor range to our view ( and we have been arround in Sofitels ) Bottom line , great stay , just remember , breakfast is important so do take note

« We stayed for only one night and decided to go out for breakfast rather than have the hotel breakfast for £19.50 per head. »

The hotel room was very dark not helped by the dark red and dark blue walls, black leatherette headboard and small window with dark blue curtains overlooking a car park. Whilst I could see what the interior designer was aiming for, the bathroom was also very small and over decorated. The staff were polite and helpful and they were a credit to the company. The location was perfect for a stay in Bath.

« Good hotel, nice furnishings in room, squeaky floorboards, confusing aircon »

- I am already very familiar with the downstairs of the hotel, which is very pleasant. I have not been to breakfast before, generally it was nice and everything I wanted (including, pleasantly, carrot juice) was on offer. Breakfast ran out of different drinks times; this should have been checked on slightly more often. - Staff were all perfectly professional, responsive, and friendly. - Floorboards in room (3rd floor) were squeaky and this was not pleasant, consider putting dampeners under the carpet at next refit. - The air conditioning unit switched off every time I left the room. I thought it was broken until I figured it out in a sweat-induced rage around 3am (after waking up for the 2nd time due to heat). This is really important in summer, please consider an AC unit that does not need to be manually switched back on every time re-entering the room (instead just switches back to where it was last time). In the meantime please provide instructions attached to the AC on how to use it for those of us coming from places/countries where they are not common.

« Convenient stay in centre of bath »

Room was average, though don't know why it was 'superior' and couldn't have been further away from reception etc.there were some nasty bits of uneven floor on the second floor corridor, nearly tripped a few times as there was no warnings.The car park was good in the centre of bath even though had to pay for it. The breakfast at brassiere Blanc was ok however there was a lack of hash browns and a few other things,the rest of our breakfast had gone cold by thet time fresh ones came out. Glad we didn't dine here in the evening as I was celebrating a special birthday.

I do hope you enjoyed your celebrating your special birthday in Bath. The superior rooms in the wing of the hotel are slightly larger than many of the rooms in the main building. The slightly uneven flooring along the corridor is when it goes from one building to the next (the hotel is made up of 7 buildings). Unfortunately, due to the lack of space in the centre of the city, parking is at a premium throughout Bath. We are very lucky to have a small car park at the hotel with charges that compare favourably with our competitors. It is disappointing to read that your breakfast experience at Brasserie Blanc was not up to standard. I will certainly be sharing your comments with their management team at our weekly meeting; it is important to us that our guests have an enjoyable breakfast. « A very comfortable stay in an excellent hotel. »

The reception staff were very helpful upon arrival and check-in was quick and easy. Our room was comfortable and was ideal for a short stay. Food and service in the restaurant was very good and breakfast was excellent. If we were staying for a few days we would have chosen a bigger room perhaps with a view.

« The Wedding of the year »

I live in Hampshire but came to Bath via Los Angeles, from one wedding trio another. They were both great, each enhanced by the quality of our stay experience. At the Francis the room, the restaurant and the service were all first rate, a repeat of our experience of the groups hotel in Cheltenham last year. My wife and I have already resolved to return.

« Great staff in a handsome hotel »

We spent 6 nights at the Francis. The staff was so knowledgeable and helpful from the moment we arrived. Comfortable rooms. Ideal location for walking to the Baths, parks, museums. Recommend adding the hearty breakfast to your plan. Inviting common areas. Convient car park behind the hotel. A bit of a drive to the Cotswolds but can also take a bus tour. Unique restaurants nearby. Highly recommend the Francis.

« Friendly, helpful staff. Very expensive car parking. »

We regularly stay at this hotel. It is located in a perfect position. Away from the main hustle and bustle of the high street but it only takes a couple of minutes to walk to it. Some of the rooms are a bit small but we had a 'feature room' this time and it was bigger and both comfortable and stylish. The staff are fantastic, really approachable and helpful. Breakfast is lovely. My only criticism is that it costs £15 per night to park and you really don't have a choice about doing this, there isn't really anywhere else convenient.

« A comfortable stay in a ‘cute’ hotel »

I have stayed at the Francis about 4 times now.From Australia,so we are used to larger hotel rooms,with air conditioners.We realise your rooms cannot be any bigger,because of age of the building- but I stay with you because you do have air conditioning. It is on all levels but 1 where you fall away- housekeeping! Not good,bed not even made properly,when the sheets are not changed.And 4.30 pm the room not even serviced.May not return.

« Relaxing stay in Regency Splendour »

We enjoyed the quirkiness of the room - the hotel whilst obviously Regency doesn't take itself too seriously. The wardrobe with the regency lady and scruffy bird..... the humorous pictures in the bedroom. Also really liked the photograph of Bath Spa that took up one entire wall of the shower - have never seen anything like that before (you can definitely remember which city you're in!).
