« Extremely disappointing and upsetting. »

We made this booking by telephone with the intention of celebrating with our family our daughters birthday. We later upgraded on line paying an extra £20 per day. When we arrived at the hotel, we were unable to access the car park as there was a metal barrier guarded by two burley men who when asked let us in. The whole area was a mass of powerful motorcycles being driven at high speed with the accompanying noise. We picked a parking bay only to find it occupied by a biker urinating! The entrance door to the hotel was partially blocked by rowdy leather clad bikers drinking and smoking. Having collected our key we tried to book for Sunday lunch only to be told the dining room was closed ! We were told that 200 Hells Angels were celebrating at the hotel that night, and that they had paid a lot of money! These visitors appeared to be providing their own security, every door and downstairs room was being patrolled by rather scary looking people. We decided to leave immediately, we were refunded on the grounds that we had not been informed the restaurant was closed. The only accommodation we could find was the Travet Lodge in Dorking that at a fraction of the cost provided super polite staff and a comfortable room. This was a zero star experience.

« New Years Eve Party »

Our party of 11 had a great evening. Food, disco and staff all very good. We were lucky with the weather - if it had been raining or cold and icy the walk from the Hotel reception to the Oak Barn would have been very unpleasant.

The stay at the hotel was really lovely. The room was cosy but well equipped and the view into the garden lovely and peaceful. The breakfast was very well presented and the food good quality. You can order from the menu or help yourself. The hotel is right at the bottom of Box hill and a 1km walk there is a pub called The Running Horses. Great food and drink. I would definitely go back.

« Lovely staff - but could have been better »

The stay was lovely - although our room (booked at a wedding guest rate so I think should have been a better room) overlooked the car park and the bins, along with the bottle emptying and Bin collecting and the dead pheasant ‘de feathering’ we witnessed. It also wasn’t very nice to have cigarette smoke coming into our room(as the window wouldn’t close)... I wanted to talk before we left but the wedding party family were at reception so I didn’t feel it was appropriate.... but for £100 a night I expected a bit of a nicer view/room space. On a better note though - the staff were nothing but lovely!

« Comfortable, food ok »

We were staying for a wedding that was held at the hotel, the room was ready even though we were there before 2 pm which was helpful. Mind you, if The wedding starts at 2pm, the risk of not being able to get into your room before is not very clever. Having to walk outside from hotel to wedding area not ideal. There must have been 4 of us that were Gluten Free and yet there was nothing provided before the main meal at 4.30. In the end when the chef failed to come up with any ideas, I requested fruit in particular a banana which is filling. I was given a rock solid pear and a tangerine with at least 10 pips, not ideal. I have not told the couple who got married this and have no intention of doing so, if you as a chef know you have Gluten Free guests for the main meal and the evening buffet then surely you will guess they will be there for the canapés. The food that I could eat by the by was really good. When we finally went to bed (I’m tea total so was completely sober) we couldn’t work out how to turn off the air conditioning and had to listen to the noise all night. A sheet explaining such things would have been helpful. Breakfast was great bar having to explain that my bread couldn’t be put through the toaster in the dining room due to contamination, more training is required. I then waited for at least 15 minutes for the toast to be cooked in the kitchen. I feel like I’m only moaning which is really unfair as the bedroom was very comfortable, the food delicious and the staff helpful.

« Amazing new year »

Right from checking in to check out the service was impeccable. We were greeted with a big smile from Karima who not only took us personally to our room but also organised afternoon tea for us within the hour once she had checked availability. The room was clean with all the niceties you would expect. Afternoon tea was wonderful with extra pots of tea given without even asking for them. The sandwiches were lovely and desserts very yummy. Karima came over once again to ask how we were. The evening was a quiet one for us but despite the hotel having a party we were undisturbed and didn't hear a thing. We had a snack and some coffee before leaving and both decided we must come again soon. Thank you Mecure for a fantastic stay

« Beautiful hotel and very attentive staff »

Lovely room plenty of space and hangers in the wardrobe. The room and bathroom were very clean and it was a nice touch of having bottle water available in the fridge. We were staying at the hotel for a family wedding and the staff were wonderful and attentive. The only area for improvement was the following day for breakfast as it was such a large party of people it was lovely to be in the same room (garden room) but the kitchen was overwhelmed and the waiting staff and Kitchen staff did their best to keep up with demand. But unfortunately I had request vegetarian sausages which were not cooked through and was cold in the middle a replacement was offered and accepted but they were not vegetarian. Overall we had a lovely wedding and I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel.

« Poor »

On my arrival I had to carry my own luggage across a slippy wet path through the garden to my room in the rain, I was not offered any help from reception and after having had a major operation recently and clearly being a lady in heals with lots of bags, I would have appreciated some help. The room was old and shabby, I needed to work and the table was small, full of clutter ( leaflets etc ) and the chair was not great for working at for 5 hrs. The food from room service was average and very expensive. I asked for a bottle of water and no glass and no Ice was brought. The phone in the room didn't work I had to call reception with my own mobile. Disappointing and I may need to consider alternative accommodation in the future as I need to stay over frequently with Pfizer.

« Lovely hotel »

Really enjoyed New Year's Eve in Burford Bridge Hotel. Excellent food (although not much of a menu choice). Attentive, helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms. The barn was beautifully decorated and disco was great too. Will be back next year.

« ok »

It suits us to stay in this location. The room was nice but as before there was no ventilation in the bathroom leading to not being able to use mirrors and the whole room being smelly.

Pretty average, catering arrangements left something to be desired. Whilst we were aware that the dining room would not be available for some of the time we were there we were also excluded from the lounge & had to eat in the "Garden Room" which had not been set out to be welcoming to diners. Food quality was pretty average & sandwiches not exiting. We were occupying "privilege" rooms one of which could only be kept warm using an additional electric radiator, included in the price were morning newspapers - these failed to arrive on Boxing Day because your normal supplier was always closed - it should not have been beyond the whit of management to have sent someone out early to other local shops & garages which were open to purchase them on the hotels behalf. My wife Mrs Gilly W. holds some type Accor Hotels membership, I believe some kind of "bonus" should have been added to her membership.

« A pleasant stay »

A lovely stay for the NYE gala dinner. Food was amazing. Had to call for bath robes and slippers as they weren’t in the room but they came quickly. Only negative was waiting quite a while for a table at breakfast.

Only complaint is that we had to go outside all dressed in long dresses high heels and nice suits to get to the barn. Very bad planning by the hotel!
