The overall experience was excellent. Staff and service very good especially at breakfast and evening meal. Hotel is central to Banbury but room was quiet.

The hotel was very welcoming but there were some areas which needed attention

It was fine, I was there for a regimental reunion and every thing went well. However, the hotel is a bit shabby and is badly in need of a redecoration. Also, the system of room numbering is not logical. We had a gala dinner on the Saturday night but the bar could not cope with the volume of custom before dinner.

Very friendly staff and a nice quiet room. Sometimes a long queue in the bar - might like to consider extra staff

Good location, old converted house but did not think much of the breakfast

Found it a very good location and the room was suitable considering how old the house itself is. I was very pleased that there was a fan in the room already as it was very warm. The breakfast was not very good in my opinion with the toaster being temperamental.

Great Staff, good food but wine was a bit expensive.

I recently stayed over with my wife in the executive suite 112. We found the décor to be dated and tired. We also thought as it was an executive room there may be a view from one of the rooms not both windows overlooking the car park. It was very disappointing to have a TV cabinet in the room with no TV in it, I was looking forward to waking up and watching the rugby while laying in bed rather than having to go in the other room so I missed the Wales game.

always a pleasure to stay at the Whately

stayed 3 nights as base for visits to Leicester, Oxford and Chippenham. Breakfast was good, easy to get a seat and choice adequate. Did not have dinner there nor used the bar. Rooms decent temperature and comfy bed. Liked the couch and TV in separate room (63). View over main road.

Nothing special... Just a simple room in an interesting building.

Although the customer service is good, the rooms require a lot of TLC.

Was ok. Room clean and tidy. We attended a wedding reception, Bar service very slow and breakfast the staff seemed overwhelmed by number of guests.

On arrival there was no kettle in the room, the bar was slow service (there was a wedding going on and not enough staff) .. there was only half a toilet roll in the bathroom (for 2 people) and breakfast was a shambles as not enough staff to deal with the people and the food kept running out and was not being replaced quickly .. they even ran out of coffee pots

Good hotel in centre of Banbury

We visited this hotel for a wedding on a particularly wonderful, sunny September day. Rooms were more than adequate if a little warm as it was unexpectedly hot but there was a fan in the cupboard. Comfy beds, good food. The only additional is drinking water in the room.

Busy and sell run

Wedding Stay

Dave F. Families - 23/09/2019 AccorHotels review

The food was good, the staff were very polite and helpful, the room we stayed in was spacious and clean, the bathing area, was disappointing, cracked tiles, and a constant leak from the the wash hand basin which meant if we hadn't left a towel on the field floor this would most definitely have become a slip hazard. The cleaner would have noted this as the towel was soaking wet and had square line patterns where it was left on the floor soaking the water from wash basin. If it wasn't for a very busy day a wedding I would have requested a change of room but knew you were fully booked. Thank you. Dave

Horrible never again.

Lots of issues. Poor quality hotel. Manager seemingly unconcerned as all complaints "go back to him"
