Have stayed at many Mercure hotels and they are generally ok to good.However not this stay !1.Came back to our room at 1500 and it was still not cleaned.Did it ourselves since we wanted to rest before theatre2.Given wake up call at 0700 which we did not request.3.Getting out of the car park took 20 minutes whilst various cars had to be moved.They should not allow cars in if there is no space.All in all not up to the aspired standard

Thank you, Mr Lys, for your welcome. We really enjoyed our stay. very impressed that after the shower head blew off, your staff were able to fix it while we were out - on a Saturday evening! One thing: the bath was really slippery to stand in, and needs one of those rubbery mats. That was room 141.

« There was a warm welcome, a comfortable room, and a very pleasant atmosphere. »

Reception welcomed us warmly and we were provided with a comfortable and spacious room. This is important to us as my wife now travels in a wheel chair. The chamber maid kindly serviced our room early so that the room would be available to us for the whole of the afternoon. The lunch we had was served promptly and courteously by the waitress working in the lounge. The food was of a high quality. The room service promptly provided rather super sandwiches at tea time on our second day. This hotel remains the best place to stay in Stratford prior to going to the theatre!

I keep returning to this excellent hotel. The quality remains very high. The General Manager is visible and greeted me in the breakfast room. The quality of a hotel is judged not by what goes wrong but how a problem is dealt with. The heating in my room was not working properly. In no time Adam produced a portable heater which instantly fixed the problem.

We had to ask for robes as they were not in our room. We came back at 3pm from a day out , and our rooms had not been serviced, it was pretty obvious that you have a lack of staff, as everything took an age to be dealt with

We had a lovely prestige room overlooking the New Place Gardens— large and comfortable. The quilt on the bed was a little short, however, and not quite heavy enough for the weather.

I stayed some times at this hotel and I can see that the services are decreasing in terms of quality. Reception is not very friendly and there is no support for luggage. Also they did not mention the Le Club. I saw that the breakfast is worse than other times...no cheese or ham for example. Very basic UK breakfast. The other things are good as always.

We enjoyed the visit to the Mercure Stratford upon Avon Shakespeare Hotel. We were in the old part of the hotel which has a lot of character. All the staff were friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast which had good choice. There is a small bar with open fires which we enjoyed a drink in front off.

Pleasant stay, however our room was at the front of the hotel and unfortunately on night one we were awoken at 5am by the local butchers delivery and on night two at 2:30 by the street Xmas lights being put up. Staff were generally pleasant but reception was a little disorganised and on checkout we were overcharged. Our evening meal in the restaurant was superb but the breakfast was a buffet and not of the quality I would expect from the hotel and for what we were charged.

« Awful there is quaint and then there is dangerous »

My husband is 6 ft 6 inches and was uncomfortable the whole time. Lack of lifts for carrying luggage and floors that you can put your foot through. My meal at the restaurant was nothing short of dog vomit and I am happy to send you and Marco Pierre white the photo. I have stayed at many Accor properties and this is just a scourge on your brand

I have noted your comments about the lack of welcome and standard of facilities, and also the poor quality of your meal, and very much appreciate you taking the time to put them in writing. I am dealing personally with the receptionist who checked you in, and should point out that you received one of our most recently refurbished bedrooms - room 112. I sincerely apologise you were not given the welcome you both deserved as Platinum cardholders. With regards to your evening meal, I am sorry you did not enjoy your steak, but understand it was more the quality of the meat rather than the way it was cooked, and that the charge was taken off. I have given your feedback to the butcher concerned. I hope that despite these issues we will welcome you back to the Shakespeare, when we will do our best to make your next stay much better!
