Nice spa break under the spa revival package. Disappointed that in the meal , over 30% of the starters had a supplement and over 50% of the mains had supplement costs. My husband ordered a steak which was over a £9 supplement. If you’re offering a pacakage meal with the break it should be A package meal not be like a Ryan air company who expects “extra hidden costs”. The room was lovely but the bath took between 10-15 minutes to fill up. There was a wedding on at the function which was fine but at 4am we were still be woken up by screams and general party sounds so didn’t sleep well at all. General grounds needed a bit of tlc with the shrubbery and a bit of attention to detail. Waited 10 mins before spa treatment to an unaccompanied desk, hot tub wasn’t working and no towels and robes were provided until we had to ask.Did enjoy our stay and would return just wanted to make you aware of what I feel isn’t right about the package deal and personally there is some refinement needed. I appreciate it’s a large venue with a purpose but needs a personal touch and a bit more attention to detail.

I could not fault the accommodation beautiful surroundings and room although a little gloomy, clean and spacious. Unfortunately, we had signed up for the Bed Breakfast and Evening meal. No problem with breakfast but the evening meal was disgusting from beginning to end. From sitting down, over half an hour for Starter to arrive then further half hour for main meal. Meals not cooked to a good standard and I feel once you have signed up - you then realise that any kind of meal worth having has a supplement charge. It would appear if there are people ordering in the bar, they get the priority.

Overall a very good hotel within easy reach of A49 North.

We were pleased to be welcomed warmly at Reception where we were given full instructions on where to find our room and all facilities. The room was excellent and well appointed with an enormous (comfortable) bed, sofa etc. We did not use the restaurant for our evening meal but can report that the breakfast was exceedingly good. All the staff were friendly and helpful with a professional manner. Our only negative thoughts are 1) the security door to enter the part of the building in which our room was situated seemed to have a problem reading the card and 2) not enough English Breakfast tea bags!

This was good value for the price. We've stayed here twice and both times have had issues. The first time three years ago we had a problem where the electricity throughout the complex wasn't working for a whole day. No information was available and no notices were put up in public areas. We had to constantly go down to reception to find out the latest. During this stay the socket by the bed wasn't working, the bath hot tap couldn't be turned off so we were moved. The next evening the shower in the new room got waterlogged within seconds. There is not always someone at reception (they seem to be doing other jobs too) so the service speed is variable. However the staff are lovely and very helpful. In particular the lady manager who was on duty when the bath tap was stuck was exceptional. The spa and pool is a great facility and breakfast is good for fruit lovers.

Was disappointed to begin with that the jacuzzi was out of use and we wasn't informed of this. Then in the room we had dirty pillow cases. The next morning we had breakfast and that is the only thing we eaten in the hotel and both have ended up with food poisoning losing 2 days pay as I am on a 0 hours contract. I have emailed the hotel to inform them of this and I still haven't had a response back I would really like someone to get back to me please.

Communication between staff lacking and unprofessional . Evening meal was booked for 20:15 but I was advised that this hadn’t been confirmed and we eventually ate at 20:45. Very limited choice on menu so chose the curry which was one of the worst meals that I have ever had the misfortune to eat! Service was very slow! Lovely hotel set in fantastic grounds, spa lovely too! Such a disappointment with the evening meal. Breakfast was great.

I want to thank you on our 1 night stay, we stayed in room 58 which was lovely, modern and worth the money we payed. The food was lovely and all staff polite. The only thing I have marked down on is that the jacuzzi was broken and no one had explained this to us. Not over the phone when booking our spa treatments nor on arrival at reception. So this for us what a let down as to walk in and find it out of service was a shame. As I think pre warning your customers would stop that disappointing feeling. Other then that my husband and I would like to thank you. And hope to return at some point. Mrs H..

The menu in the restaurant was poor and the food underwhelming. The pool was cloudy and smelly. For a 4 star hotel I would expect glasses in the room not plastic mugs. The bar prices were more expensive than central London.

Hotel was good the evening was not. On going to our room close to midnight we found that we were directly over the main function room! Which had a wedding function going on Might as well put our bed in the middle of the dance floor ,the music went on till the early hours Not the best stay Phoned reception to inform them ,and made a complaint the next morning.

I had a very relaxing and enjoyable visit that was enhanced by the incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. I also had a spa visit and pregnancy pamper package, which was very relaxing and again, the staff were wonderful. We had a 2-course menu at the Oak restaurant on our first night that was rather disappointing and bar food the next night that was okay, however I didn't feel the food in either restaurant or bar was good value given the price. However, we had a pre-booked 3-course meal on our last evening that used a different menu and was very tasty and to a standard that I would expect given the hotel rating. We both really enjoyed the last meal, thank you! Our fridge wasn't working but again, the staff were helpful and did what they could. We had people come in to assess the problem, unfortunately the problem couldn't be fixed while we were there. Overall, a great value and wonderfully relaxing stay that I will be recommending to friends (I've already recommended the pregnancy spa package). Thanks!

Nice visit,sign saying leave bags in car would have been helpful instead of dragging up steps then out to separate building.Appreciate upgrade to Privelege room although was an adjoining room which we dont like as you can hear people talking and they can hear you as doornot soundproofed. Liked lake view and setting. Sat nav does not take you direct to hotel but some considerable way away which is very frustrating after long drive

We had two rooms for 4 nights. One room was no problem at all throughout our stay. Clean and very comfortable. The second room was more problematic - but the issues were resolved. My sincere appreciation and thanks to your duty manager for getting our second room upgraded after plumbing issues in the original room. That lady is a serious asset to your business. Gym and swim facilities are very good. The food was very good (breakfast). Drinks and bar food usual prices for a 4 star hotel. Issues: - maintenance appears to be an issue. We've stayed twice now over the last 3 years. During our first stay in 2016 the electricity went off for most of one day due to a power issue within the hotel. Sadly this also took out the air conditioning on one of the hottest days of the year. During our most recent stay (May 2019) we had issues with a hot tap not being possible to turn off (and requiring a move of room - thanks for the upgrade!) followed by an overflowing shower tray in the new room that required maintenance (fortunately resolved whilst we were out for the day). I noticed at checkout that the receptionist was making notes from all guests about maintenance issues. I think the hotel needs to urgently put in place a review of its pro-active maintenance regime (if there is one). Being re-active to problems is not going to be good for customer experiences!!! - Room keys: it shouldn't be a problem to issue two room keys (for the same room) and have them work properly. I gather that this isn't reliable at the moment. This needs resolving. - Staffing: your staff are extremely good and appear to be well-trained. It's pretty clear though that you're currently under-staffed. Queues in the bar were lengthy even at quiet times. As a 4 star hotel you'll understand that staffing levels are critical to customer satisfaction. - Parking: I'm not sure what you can do about this but your parking spaces seem very narrow. - Lake: please clean out the lake. It's choked with weed and could be so much more presentable.

Saw advert for 30%dicount and free breakfast if registered, we did and the offer did not happen I was disappointed on arrival to find that this was not the case, even though I had queried it in earlier e mails . The receptionist said she was unaware of your promotion. The hotel was lovely, however, the beds and pillows were too hard and we both came away with back ache. Apart from that and being disappointed with the discount and breakfast we registered with you for and didn't receive, we had a lovely time.

Tight parking spaces (like a tesco car park). Pleasant enough staff. Clean room and building. No nespresso machine, robes or newspaper as described. Quiet night. Shower pressure too low to use. Had a nice enough bath though. Jacuzzi out of order (We didn’t have time for bathing etc anyway).
