Me and my partner checked in early evening we travelled from kent so took us a few hours. I stated on the booking I want late check out as we travelled far and wanted to lay in and relax. The girl at reception asked if I still wanted to check out late I said yes. She told me a couple whos wedding it is will be checking in tomorrow and cant do late check out for thats suite, but the other suite smells of smoke as the people checked out that day were smoking. So thats was my only 2 options its ridiculous. I didnt travl so far and pay for a suite to get there for this. Also it was our anniversary and it was a disappointment from the start. She showed me the room ( that smelt of smoke) to see if it was ok. I went it and the bathroom smelt alot room not as much. I asked her if the could spray air freshener or something and we will have to stay here as we didnt travel all that way to check out early otherwise we would not of booked it. She did spray air freshner but smell never went. Also she made us wait in the bar so that housekeeping could change the sofa as it was pulled out as a sofa bed. When we already was tired and annoyed by the situation we had to wait longer. In the morning I went to use the bath towel and realised theres dry blood on the towel, at this point I was extremely shocked and angry. I had to use the small hand towel instead. On check out I spoke to the duty manager about the towel and took it to reception with me to show them. They said sorry and that they will talk to housekeeping and gave me a complimentary drink. To be honest its just not good enough and unacceptable. A hotel at this standard and pricing did not expect. I stay at alot of hotels and I never have had an issue like this ever before. The staff didn't really care. It ruined our excitement of staying somewhere nice.

« Attention to detail needed »

Lovely location, hotel and fantastic food. However attention to detail needed. Stayed 2 nights, no newspaper first morning and wrong one second morning. Phone in room not working even though reported. Tea tray not topped up. Given a room with view of events room wall even though hotel not full. Thankfully no evening event. No pumped beer for afternoon drink. Apologies/action lacking. Shame as hotel obviously aiming at boutique market with nice furnishings and very good food.

This hotel was a real find. From our arrival, when we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff at reception to our departure two days later which was handled with great efficiency. Our room was pleasant airy and full of amenities although being short in stature I found reaching the safe somewhat difficult as it was on a high shelf in the wardrobe and also there was no place to put small items of clothing Such as socks and underwear. The first night we ate in the dining room, compliments to the chef and to the waiting staff. Second night we had a meal from the bar which was excellent. We hope to return And would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family. Thank you for a delightful stay

« Lovely hotel, super meal and staff in restaurant. »

We loved the hotel, well thought out decor and our experience in the restaurant was excellent. However, the bar staff went missing and we had to be served by the restaurant staff to get a drink after our meal. When the bar staff returned they seemed more interested in enjoying themselves and making a lot of noise than serving customers. It felt like there wasn't anyone of authority managing staff within the hotel. Not what we have been accustomed to at Accor Hotels.

It was my daughters wedding, main issue the bar was too small and only two people manning it with a Q as far as you could see winding round the seating area By 9.00 your bar ran out of set shorts that we had asked to make sure was stocked due to the number of people and knowing what they drank, I can't explain how dissapointed I was with this

Very satisfied. I was a bit concerned at first as there was a wedding party in full swing and I was worried the noise would affect my sleep. However the building is very well soundproofed and I couldn't hear a thing in my room, which was very comfortable, reasonably spacious and beautifully clean. Good breakfast and excellent service. Pleasant bar too, also excellent service.

All went well until we were double charged the agreed rate as per our confirmation email. This was highlighted when we were checking out and we were assured it would be rectified. However without our authorisation, upon our return home we discovered that we were still double charged on our credit card! Such a pity as our experience up to that has now been ruined trying to rectify this. What is even more dissappointing is that we were staying as my sister was getting married there. Its terrible to be treated this way given the sizeable business the hotel made from the wedding.

I think some attention to detail wouldn't go amiss, the edges of the room could have been cleaner and behind furniture was quite dusty, the lamp fitting was broken, the fridge didn't work, the heated towel rail didn't work either. One of the complementary chocolates had melted at some point. There was only one biscuit with the tea and coffee for two. The stairs and landing could have done with a good hoover. The evening meal was very nice, the breakfast was nice but cold when you got it to the table because the plates were cold. The staff were very friendly. When booking it would have been better if you could speak to a person at the hotel rather than someone in India
