« Nice hotel but had too many problems »

I'm a platinum member and used 8000 points to stay for one night with my partner. I had issues checking in as the hotel's description of my stay was different to what I had booked. I had booked a 3 course meal for 2, which was included within my points but this didn't show up on my booking at the hotel. Once we got to the room, I opened the app on my phone and returned to reception to settle the discrepancy. Once back in the room the TV didn't work at all. I called reception who sent someone to look at it. Changing rooms wasn't an option as the hotel was full. Unfortunately the gentleman couldn't fix the problem so he called maintenance. We then had a maintenance man in the room With us for the next hour or more trying to fix the tv. After several attempts at changing the coaxial lead and me asking him to now leave the tv, the conscientious gent continued to work on fixing the tv until finally he took the hint that he couldn't fix it and I didn't want him in my room any longer as our table was only booked for 2 and he wasn't invited for dinner. Dinner by the way was amazing. Hats off to the chef. A perfect meal. When it was time to finally enjoy what was the most comfortable bed I've ever been in. I heard what sounded like the hotels heating / water system going into melt down. The time was around 11pm. I managed to sleep for 2 hours until the noise became a nuisance. This then continued to be and issue until 5am when I realised that I had some ear plugs in my car. So I dressed and ventured down to my car and retrieved said ear plugs. Around ninety minutes sleep soon followed. Breakfast was very nice. I knew checking out wouldn't be straightforward either as it was a different person on the desk. As expected there were misunderstandings at check out. These were soon rectified by a very nice man who wanted to charge me £120 too much. I explained about the points and what I thought was due. This was soon confirmed back and we left the building. I have some extremely stressful issues happening in my life at present and I just wanted to escape for a very short, stress free break but unfortunately it wasn't the case. I couldn't and wouldn't get angry with the staff as it wasn't there fault, plus they were all very professional and kind. Would I stay at the hotel again ? I would look for alternatives before booking there again.

Having stayed many times and loved the experience this time we were disappointed. The room we stayed in was noisy. A constant noise that kept coming on and off all night.Sounded like a pump. Got very little sleep. Reported to reception on departure and the lady at reception was lovely and apologised .She asked for our telephone number and assured me the manager would be in touch. As of today we have not received a call.

I have stayed at this hotel over many years when the hotel was under different ownership . Now under the ownership of the Accor group it is clear that with the investment made into the hotel , that this hotel is clearly one of the best in the area . Excellent rooms with great decor and furnishings that are all different and all comfortable . The breakfast is of a great standard with plenty of choice and I always find the staff helpful and professional

A charming hotel, tastefully furnished, nicely decorated. The staff were polite, welcoming, professional and attentive. The restaurant was very good, some of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat in to eat wonderfully prepared and tasty food. The bar menu was very good as well.

Hotel clean and comfortable. Food was lovely. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Only a couple of criticisms - no decaff coffee available from the bar after dinner and no nuts or crisps on sale behind the bar. The pretty conservatory area with a lovely outlook was always laid up for afternoon tea even from early morning, so not in use, it would have been nice to have been able to have breakfast or morning coffee in this area.

Apart from the SatNav not getting us to the right place initially and having to ask at The Barge Inn where Woughto Hall Hotel is, we had a wonderful night's stay. (There was a little confusion asking where Waughton Hall was and finding out it is pronounced "WofftonHall"!!) We maintain it is Milton Keynes' best kept secret. Everything about the hotel was lovely- from the Receptionist's welcome, through to the beautifully appointed room (we stayed in Privilege) and on to a very comfortable night's sleep and excellent breakfast the following morning. I was trained in Hotel Management and was very impressed by the attention to detail at Waughton Hall. We certainly hope to return and shall be recommending it to our friends and relations. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at your hotel. Bedroom, breakfast, atmosphere and service excellent. The downside was the quality of our evening dinner which was very poor for a four star hotel. We will stay with you again as my ageing sister lives twenty minutes away and I will be staying again at the end of May. Lovely hotel, polite helpful staff. Very big bed! Spacious room, had everything you need. Very good breakfast, even scrambled eggs were good, not the case in most buffet breakfasts! My only complaint is not with the hotel, but with the fact that I bought the deal from 'Buyagift', which says the hotel is about 30 mins from Oxford - it is a good hour away, including a stretch on the M40! However, hotel itself was great.

Check in: Gentleman was fine, not particularly friendly. Room welcome plate of cakes wonderful gesture and very appreciated. Room was decorated nicely , really clean and was very comfortable. The bedside lamp on the table at side of the bed ( opposite the window) doesn't work. Service at breakfast was excellent. Good variety . We had scrambled eggs and mushrooms. Would have been good to have an option of poached eggs . Check out. Was efficient. although busy . the lady was really pleasant. Even though she was on her own and handling calls too. She wasn't frustrated at all. It was a super stay of which we were both extremely grateful.

Had a pleasant overnight stay for a special Birthday. We chose a Privilege room and this along with the rest of the hotel appears to have been recently refurbished and was very comfortable and attractively decorated. The only issue was in the bathroom where the shower screen was too short resulting in a wet bathroom floor. We also ate from the hotel restaurant menu but had to be served in the bar area as we were too late to book in for the restaurant itself, which was not the hotel's fault, as we had been let down by the nearby Pub. The meal was very enjoyable however we were not offered dessert for some reason. Breakfast was nice enough, a good fruit, cereal and pastry selection as well as a hot buffet. Overall a very enjoyable stay just a shame it was only for one night. Finally we want to thank the hotel for the special birthday nibbles platter in our room and also for the bottle of champagne delivered to our room when they saw our disappointment for missing out in the restaurant.
