My friends and I use the Hotel to watch the American Super Bowl every year. We always end up with a seperate suite to do this and a Tv screen is provided, but we always have to bring our own equipment (laptop etc) to make this work. Seems a little strange as we only watch BBC

Lovely time great reception staff. Meal was excellent and good value with the restaurant fitting us in even though full at that time. The bar had ran out of Baileys which surprised us but that was the only setback. Wonderful night.

food was great apart from that wasnt anything special, gym wasnt very good, pool was fine, had to walk back and fourth from facilities to our room, tv in room wasnt working maid came to fix it and couldnt, wouldnt go again.

I have stayed on this package a couple of times before. It has always been good. I upgraded our room and I don't think it it was one of the best I have stayed in but they are doing the rooms up at present in stages so hopefully be better next time. I would recommend this hotel if you are not looking for anything fancy.

Average, hotel tired looking. No atmosphere in the restaurant in the evening but really excellent food served. Excellent breakfast and more atmosphere than the night before - probably due to music and people milling around. Had to go looking for staff to serve in the bar at lunch time and for lunch which was served in the bar Disappointed with the spa - nowhere to sit as too many people lounging around - pool cold steam room great but no jucuzi which was told you had when I booked it. Average treatment in the spa though good products used. Smudged toes despite waiting for 45 minutes before putting on shoes to leave.

The room was well set up and comfortable. The bathroom, with a good size bath, had very hot water and excellent water pressure. I would rate this ace ten out of ten. We ate in the bar and found the bar menu a little restricted. The meals were quite satisfying.

In terms of accommodation the room was good however the tv was not working in our room or friends room on arrival though this was quickly fixed. One bedside light was not working but we ran with this initially until day two when the other bedside light would not switch off due to a faulty wall switch. We reported both to reception on going out for the day. 24 hours later no one had been to fix it. We had to remove a very hot bulb on the night with our hands protected. The bulb slipped onto the floor breaking leaving glass shards which we could not see to clear up as there was insufficient light. Although receiving apologies on leaving I feel it was a simple maintenance problem that should have been dealt with.

« Fantastic service and place »

Brilliant. Booked a spa day which was really good with an excellent full body massage. Had dinner where we were excellenty looked after as I had spoken to the manager the day before as I was proposing to my girlfriend and the dinner. Was perfectly looked after given a table away from most which I had asked for and also given a free bottle of wine to celebrate when she said yes. Along with this they wrote congratulations on our dessert plate.

Room was ok Service for dinner was terrible with majority of tables having some kind of issue-long waits, wrong food, cold food, however food was very tasty when it arrived. Very disappointed to find the pool was booked out for swimming lessons all of Sunday morning which meant I couldn’t use the facilities-the pool was one of the reasons I had booked.

« Ok, but didn't live up to expectations »

The hotel gives off a luxury feel but unfortunately our experience didn't live up to this expectation. The room was cold and we didn't like the wooden flooring for this reason also. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The pool area was disappointing and not up to the same standard as other parts of the hotel, such as the spa area, dining room and lounge. We were also disappointed there was no jacuzzi.

I am a regular guest at Brandon Hall & am pleased that rooms and public areas are being updated. After booking on line I was able to chose my room by discussing my reservation with the Hotel. There was no fridge in the room this time although it did not really matter this time as I was only staying one night. Breakfast superb once again and good value when booked with the room. I am hoping that a power socket will be installed adjacent to the tea / coffee making facilities when the rooms are updated. Hopefully the mattresses will be replaced with a superior quality one Unfortunately I did not notice the drink voucher until leaving the room! The bar really needs some attention very dour and lighting quite depressing.

Hotel going through refurb but as a regular user I knew there would be some disruption but no real issues for me. Unfortunately this can’t be said for the food offer. Came to the bar a little late and told food was no longer available. OK I was late and the bar was closed for food at 9.45 but reception had a record of times and had told me 10.30 ! All kitchen staff had left. Worst thing was I was now told they don’t sell bar snacks / Crisps / nuts etc and to top it all off there is no room service provision in this hotel either so no sandwiches or anything. Left early next morning and went to Coombe Abbey where although the hotel is a bit quirky - service and food is excellent.

I've stayed at the Brandon Hall before (our company has a corporate rate) and it was OK. The room I stayed in this time was just adequate. The room was clean but furniture is tired. Food was not what I remember so I won't be rushing back. Interestingly I was with a group of colleagues and our new MD, he was under the impression that we all visited regularly given the proximity to the office and corporate rate. Not one of us does.

Had booked in as half board. Arrived early, so went to bar and had a drink and lunch, which was lovely. When we went to our room, the room service had made the room beautifully, and added some fresh fruit and chocolates and a personalised card welcoming our stay, so we were really impressed. Expected the same great service at dinner. This wasn't the case. Was seated and ended up waiting over 45 minutes for a starter, (I had to point this out), which ended up coming out cold (scallops). The staff advised that there had been a mix up with tables, which was odd as there were only approx. 6 tables filled out of the whole dining area, so to get mixed up baffled me! The soup was served with a stale toasted chunk of bread (no butter), whereas others received rolls & butter. When the food was eventually sorted out, I couldn't fault it. The mains (corn fed chicken and a steak), were equally as nice. The desert - unfortunately I asked for cheese and crackers, only to be told there wasn't any! Settled for ice cream and cheesecake. The room and surroundings are nice and peaceful. Breakfast - this was a fine, average breakfast. Finally - upon checkout - we found that somebody had been signing for drinks up to the value of £99 on our room number.! Again - was sorted in the end, but not what I had signed up for! On the whole it was a nice stay, however if I was to return, (possibly not), I would not choose the dining option.

Staff weren't rude, but not forthcoming in offering information or assistance - didn't seem to want to be there. Much the same at breakfast. Room was very cold on my first day - heating appeared to have been left off and it took me a long time to warm the room. Otherwise OK - just rather underwhelming.
