« Early Valentines Diner, bed and breakfast stay at Brandon Hall and Spa »

disappointed that there was not a nespresso machine in the room - when I asked I was told that these were not included in the feature rooms (even though it states that these have the same as a privilege room) - we love our coffee and would have booked a privilege room if we had known. Also disappointed in the dinner - limited veggie options (unless you eat fish) and very slow service. In addition , no daily paper selection offered. The feature room was in need of some TLC - threadbare sofa, peeling bath panel, very squeaky floor . Two tvs - was impressed when we first entered the suite but when you turned one off or changed channel the other turned on or over - got a bit annoying. Loved the massage in the morning in the spa and the location. Would have been useful to be informed when we booked that there was a large Bridge convention at the same time - they were very loud, rude and took over the bar and general areas - in fact I know more about trumps, spades/diamonds and bridge tactics than I EVER needed to know - there was no where to go to avoid them. Overall - nice hotel but disappointed in the finishing touches (plastic glasses in the bathroom?) and the bits that would have made it worthwhile booking the feature room with dinner - would not recommend. Did not feel welcomed or unique

good stay , although or direct trip of 500 km towards your htel give us some delay which was reasonable ( 1 hour approx) and we had to change restaurantbooking as well, which was a problem because very busy, but they managed to do it! so thank you!!! room 146 was rather noisy, ou could hear somewhere a "broom" at night perhaps the general ventilation unit in the back or on the top . rather uncomfortable when silence is appreciated. and yes we put "off" the airco hvac unit in the room, and still there was a noise to hear..somewhere...

« Was bad experience »

I bought the ticket through the wowher and when I went hotel to check in they didn’t find any reservations, even I rang in the hotel two days before about my booking, but there not room was ready at the time, we had to wait for a while which was feel me more bad. Early in the morning too much disturbance while , someone banged in the door while someone hovering. Overalls staff was good and friendly .

Far too expensive for what you get. Disappointing treatment, served raw scallops, asked for tea at breakfast and received coffee in a tea pot, very basic room (don’t know what the upgrade fee was for), over priced drinks, no one even asked how our stay was

« Not a great visit which is a real shame as no problems previously »

For a spa hotel we left feeling very unrelated and tired. We were able to check into our room early but the all of the beds in the spa had towels on them so we had nowhere to sit. Turns out people had gone for lunch in the hotel and left all their towels out to reserve their beds - a whole hour passed and no one returned! In the end we have to and went to our room to relax. We went to sleep around 10.45 and got woken up with guests shouting outside our door 5 times from then until 3am. It was totally unacceptable and meant our sleep was disturbed. When we checked out nobody bothered to ask how our stay was. The only saving grace was the comfy beds and excellent breakfast as usual. Such a shame as our experience has put us off returning again.

« Could have been such a perfect break! »

We came for a peaceful break away from the kids at a very stressful time. The hotel was nice, but we had a few issues. We had pre paid as part of the package for dinner. We could only book for 8.45pm! When we got there we were asked if we could come back later, we said no and were sat at a table waiting over 20 minutes without anyone even taking our drinks order. There did not seem to be any food coming out of the kitchen so we had to drive out to another restaurant. This was not good enough when we just wanted to chill out in your hotel. I was surprised to find that there was no mattress or pillow protectors in place, which for a 4* hotel I would have thought was a basic. The pillow had horrible brown satins on and we felt uncomfortable at the thought of sleeping straight on the sheets. This spoilt what could have been a perfect stress free break that we both needed!

« Very misleading about the spa facilities »

We were a party of 8 for our friends' birthday. We this hotel for the spa facilities and treatments. However, when we arrived we were very disappointed and felt we had been mislead by your website and Spa breaks who we booked through. We were informed that there was a Jacuzzi and relaxation room, as well as some where to sit around the pool. We weren't informed that the Spa was not part of the hotel and that you had to walk outside to get to the Spa. This was the same if we wanted to have food or drinks. As for the relaxation room, it's nothing more than a lounge with chairs, soft music and lighting. A relaxation room usually has beds in it and not used as an area for the treatment guests to come in and out. When we arrived at the Spa reception, we were greeted with a member of staff who seemed as though he did not want to be there. We didn't even get in the pool as the seating area around the pool was very small and not enough seats, especially for a Saturday. The bar in the hotel was very nice, however when we ordered snacks, (chips, onion rings, two sandwiches, two bread and oils and one cheeseboard) it took over 30mins to arrive. We had to speak to the waitress who said because it was a big order it would take longer. As for our meal, we were surprised it was a three course meal but then again the portion sizes of the main meal were smaller than expected. Drinks order was being taken at the same time as the food order by two different waitress'. Two of us had mushroom starters which came out cold. These were replaced with hot ones. For our main one of us had a fillet steak medium-rare. This came out Medium-well. Again this was changed. The service through out the meal was very hit and miss. You could not tell who was in charge or what roles each member of staff was doing, it was very disorganised. During breakfast the cream had gone off as it was lumpy when poured. These may seem little mistakes to you but as whole these make the visit very unenjoyable and they are mistakes that are very easy to get right. We will not be returning or recommending this hotel for a spa break.

We enjoyed our stay. In truth it was difficult to see quite what we got for upgrading to a privilege room, but the room was ok. High points were the staff ... friendly and efficient, the restaurant where we found breakfast and evening meal really enjoyable, and, for me, the gym ... again really friendly staff, although I was a bit disappointed in the spa itself.
