Reception staff excellent and most helpful. Good hotel in prime location. Housekeeping could have been better. No milk provided for tea and even when asked still was not delivered. Had to go down to reception to get some. Extractor fan in bathroom not working but bedroom and bathroom were clean and well made up.

As above. the breakfast was cold, I waited quite a while to be served with a warm drink when it arrived the coffee was far to strong so I tried the tea and it was insipid.

Room and service were good, breakfast was excellent. Slightly taken aback that I could not use my points to print vouchers to offset the additional costs. When and why was this changed? Especially as it clearly says on the Club Accor website that you can use points throughout your stay.

We have stayed at this hotel many times previously. We had noted a slight deterioration in some areas of the hotel service and were considering going elsewhere. However, this visit was a very pleasant surprise. The standard of service in the bar had improved beyond measure. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. We ordered meals in the bar on two nights and on both occassions the food was first class. We noted that other guests were also very happy with the food. Our room was spacious (for two people) and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Reception staff were, as always here, very efficient, polite and friendly. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and will be back again.

Check in was swift, lobby was inviting and clean, we had been upgraded as my partner's birthday which was very wonderful. Room was clean and bed was comfy, the pillows were all very hard could do with softer pillows. Bathroom was lovely very good shower. Hotel facilities I.e pool etc were fantastic very clean and welcoming especially the jacuzzi really powerful. Breakfast was also yummy and a good selection:) we loved our stay and my partner had a great birthday Thankyou :)

Nb Couples - 08/10/2019 AccorHotels review

Stayed in a Priviledge room, it wasn't particularly large, had to ask maid to swap a towel as it had marks on it, had to ask for. Slippers and the minibar with free soft drinks consisted of 3 bottles of water and 2 small Pepsi bottles. Was supposed to have a bath but it was a shower and when I stripped the bed in the morning to help the housekeepers out (I work in hospitality) one pillow had a large brown stain covering it. Went to the Spa and the pool was closed as it had high levels of chlorine, not sure how that happens but we enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna. Breakfast was lovely but a basic push button coffee machine would be far better than the posh one that only delivers very strong coffee but that's just a preference. The bed was super comfy, and everything was clean. The entrance to the lobby is very inviting and the staff were all very helpful and cheerful. I don't let small things ruin an opinion and so yes I'd come here again

I booked a Privilege room. Room 353 was marked as such, the room carpet was in poor condition, with what looked like an adhesive spilt on the carpet, my wife had to clean the bathroom before use and the sink was very slow to drain. Voices carried from the next door room, we did call reception but it did not solve the problem. The room appeared to be a standard room with a fridge stocked with two mineral waters and two coca colas and an additional coffee machine. Given the state of the room, its size, one arm chair, there was not much privilege. Unfortunately there was a wedding reception in progress and a visiting tour group, but surely the hotel has vast experience and staff to manage. However the bar was struggling to cope, the bar staff were clearly lacking much experience, from the struggles they had handling the tills and the bar counter was a mess. The carpets in the public rooms looked very tired. My wife went to use the swimming pool (5pm) but found the whole area over crowded and the changing room very unclean. We had pre-booked dinner (my wife's birthday), when booking the room 9 days previously, but were not on the restaurant list, we were accommodated but in the outer restaurant area (coffee shop?) as a tour group had taken the dining room. The one saving grace was our young waiter (Lee?) who was very helpful. We had complained to the reception and later to the restaurant manager. On check out we were given a discount off our room rate and an apology, which I accepted. Having used Accor hotels since my first visit, an Ibis in Douala Cameroon and business travels for the last 30 years, I just could not understand how the group can run this hotel under the Mercure brand? Sad rather than mad.

Had a lovely time staying for the weekend - visiting our daughter at the university. (I mentioned to the receptionist that we'd enjoyed our stay). The room and bed were warm and comfortable, the staff were super friendly and helpful. I really liked the antique style decor - too many hotels try to be modern and trendy and miss the mark; this felt much more cosy. I appreciated the free parking since I have a blue badge, although we were lucky to get a space! Really enjoyed going for a swim and using the sauna and jacuzzi. All I would ask for is a wider healthier cereal selection (e.g. granola or museli), and maybe put jam, marmalade on the table or make it easier to take back to the table. I didn't try the cooked breakfast although it looked nice.

The overall stay was good, but for us it was spoilt by the conference guests who took over the buffet breakfast and who ensured the waitress was late in providing coffee and tea to those guests who had stayed for other than a conference. We would suggest they are provided with pots of coffee and tea so the very helpful staff can treat everyone one equally, it was not their fault.
