Room was lovely and so was breakfast but waiting staff hopeless. Extremely poor bar selection for drinks with both stella and Guinness off all day/night and the bud light tasted like dish water. And to top it off bar only had 10p and £10 in as a float so everyone was walking around with pockets full of change

I had to ask to change rooms on arrival as it had twin beds rather than the queen as stated, it had a rubbish view rather than the “superb” view advertised and the tv was broken. Unfortunately this meant queuing for 20 minutes to check in and then after seeing the room queuing for another 20 minutes to ask for a different room. The staff were helpful when I got to the front of the queue and gave me a different room, when I found the room it was in a small corridor containing two doors, one to my room and one to another and the corridor was behind a door, there was a lot of shouting coming from behind the door so I knocked and a man opened it (he was a cleaner) he looked at me and then shut the door again so I waited a while and eventually opened the door myself, there was a different man behind it this time and he didn’t understand me asking him if he was still cleaning my room so I ended up just going to my door and going it. It was kind of a strange experience. The room was clean and nice enough.

My only complaint is that I had booked a double bed for the night & what we actually had was two single beds placed together which resulted in an uncomfortable nights sleep for both of us which was extremely disappointing.

Overall we were extremely impressed with the hotel. The room was spacious and clean, however the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was excellent and a great selection, however the coffee machine could do with improving. All hotel facilities were spotlessly clean. Parking is not great, however the discount voucher for the NCP is an absolute plus. Although there is a lift at the front of the hotel, the access is not the best. We found it difficult having to wait with a pram for a member of staff to be free to operate the lift for access. A ramp would make things a lot simpler. Brilliant access to the city centre and overall a lovely experience for a weekend away as a family.

I booked in on line, which was fine, I was instructed that all I had to do on arrival, was approach the desk, and my room key would be waiting. Well I approached the checking table and waiting quite a while before the staff saw fit to come and attend to us. Then she took another full 10 minutes booking us in. What I ask was the point of me wasting time booking in on line? She just kept asking if we wanted to purchase breakfast for the morning after. No how are you? are you here for business or pleasure? have you been to Cardiff before? do you need any directions? eventually she told us we were on floor seven where the lifts were and the spa/pool. The room was OK, spacious but very dark and dated. The beds were terrible could feel every spring. So whilst not much sleep was had, it seems all hell broke loose in the corridor. Slamming of doors, screaming and shouting. I think the police was called at one point, or maybe it was hotel security? Thought I would the pool the next morning. I waited so long for some one to actually attend the desk at the Spa, I gave up and went behind the desk myself and got us towels, and let myself in. I know the Spa bit is franchised out, but boy they are a right shambles. Members showed me everything and there was no staff at all from 9am-11am Saturday morning. I paid quite a lot of money for one night in this hotel. I will not be making the same mistake again. My advise would be if you are spending that amount of money for a hotel room, spend it some where else!

There was no tea or coffee etc in the room. I only realised after boiling the kettle. The sanitary bags holder was empty (I have no need for them but I'm guessing they should have been there). The inside of the bathroom door at the bottom was frayed and coming away, likely due to moisture over time. Generally a nice room and comfortable bed. The air con worked well too. Just a shame that a few basics were overlooked.

Very enjoyable experience,room was a bit warm and air con was noisy my wife found someone else's socks behind the curtain,the reading light was hanging off the wall with wires showing,we didn't report these things ad they are things that should have been picked up by staff.

My room was lovely: quiet and very comfortable. I enjoyed the swimming pool/sauna/steamroom. There were a few problems with service which marred the overall experience: my second day I went out mid morning and left the ‘please clean my room’ sign on the door handle. When I got back about 4.00 the sign had been turned to ‘do not disturb’. I went for a swim leaving the sign turned back to ‘please clean room’. There were cleaners on the corridor at that time but when I went back after the swim sign turned back to ‘do not disturb’ and room not touched. I explained all this to desk staff on my way out for the evening. When I got back there had been a cursory cleaning - someone had made the bed but left the used mugs on the table. For a 4* hotel this is not acceptable service. When I came in on mon night I asked for a wake up call for 6.15. The man at the desk wrote it in highlighter on a post it note which didn’t seem very secure - didn’t get my call until 6.38 so good thing I wasn’t relying on it or would have missed my train. I asked for a breakfast box to take as I had to leave 6.45 to catch a train - maybe some croissants? I was told these wouldn’t be ready and the bag would be left outside my room 6.20. Which all seemed weird because breakfast started at 6.30 and I could have gone to the dining room and selected what I wanted? Bag wasn’t outside my door but was at Reception. It contained a small sandwich a yoghurt an apple and a pear which wasn’t ripe. No water, which I had asked for. Really not good at all.

Disturbed by noise from road outside even though on high floor. Matress uncomfortable where 2 beds joined together. Good size room. Lovely breakfast, good quality food. Reception really helpful and smartly dressed. Spa and pool great, apart from last day Jacuzzi was cold.

As our stay was only for 2 nights this accommodation was fine. I would like to say that as a global company we expected a little more. The rooms whilst having plenty of space are tired and had a musky odour that seemed to be covered up by air freshener. The carpets are aged and need replacement.

Terrible breakfast. Average room. Disappointed The lady who booked us in was enchanting but it went downhill after that. The room was very average. The bathroom dated. But the breakfast was appalling. Truly the worst I’ve ever experienced at what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. Inedible. You have to queue for coffee and tea. Empty boards which I presume once had pastries. Awful. Finally no receipt when it was promised by email.

Friendly staff, and large, comfortable rooms. It was good to have a separate bath and shower en suite. I slept well, thanks to the comfy mattress, quiet surroundings, and air conditioning. The 18m swimming pool is great, although the floor of the changing room was very slippery. There was also a fault with the temperature of the spa bath when we visited, so it wasn't as relaxing as I had hoped. Otherwise, this is a nice, well situated hotel.

General experience and staff very attentive and pleasant. As a regular guest the worst aspect is the bedding used. The mattresses and in particular the pillows are very uncomfortable (hard) and there is no choice of alternative types of pillow in the rooms.

Our twin room was a corner room with 2 huge windows, with fabulus views over Cardiff as it was on the 7th floor. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, rooms kept clean and tidy. We felt the pillows were too hard but beds comfy. Didn't eat at the hotel so couldn't comment on food. Spa staff /reception not particularly friendly and ladies showers needed more cleaning. Towels had a funny smell. Only 2 hairdryers and 1 mirror. Pool water cloudy and too much chlorine.
