Absolutely shocking stay, the room was disgusting. The Bathroom old and tired. The mirror hanging to one side then i try to reset it to find a huge gaping hole behind showing pipes, room was tropically hot in June probably due to water pipes under the floor so opened windows to find so much pigeon poo all over the window sills, shall never stay again in this hotel

Little family reunion

Travel18955113097 Family - 19/06/2019 TripAdvisor review

The best thing about this hotel is its location, in the town center with a car park. That is the only reason why we have stayed there from time to time for the past four years to visit our daughter at UCA. The hotel is in urgent need of total renovation. Even rooms in the “newest “ wing look tired. We have regularly faced problems with blocked up drains, problems with toilet flush, and even with hot water. The members of staff are courteous but lack in efficiency. The breakfast is passable. Unfortunately there are no better situated hotels in Farnham which is probably the reason why they still have got paying guests.

room was quite good, cleaning staff good, restaurant breakfast staff were excellent. We understand renovations were underway,so parts of the building interiors were abit shabby, however the exterior grounds, inparticular the courtyard inthe front needs work, perhaps the moss in the stone joints need power washing and re-grouting? My only complaint however was the patio outside our room, when we wanted to sit outside, cushions were missing some of the time and i did mention to your staff that the patio needed weeding and agood water hosing and broom sweep. In our 10 day stay the patio was not cleaned. My wife and i felt it did not represent your hotel the way we expected.

The hotel needs to be refurbunished

The room has to phones, no ones is working Poor lighting Bed was confortable and the room was quiet. Toilet was clean. Air conditioning was good. In overall the hotel needs a lot of improvements. Staff was ok.

Great location but old hotel

John Business - 12/06/2019 AccorHotels certified review

The location of the hotel is great, located right in the center with plenty of bars and restaurants around. The hotel itself is old though and in my opinion not always maintained well. This is visible in many ways. There is no elevator so you will have to carry your bags up the stairs. Usually there is no offer for any help with this. The wooden floors in the rooms are cold and noisy. Despite the renovations a number of years ago, the rooms seem run down with stains on the carpets and rusty bathroom accessories. Window handles are loose, curtains are loose and don't close properly, lime scale is present everywhere in the bathroom, and mould on the shower head is more rule than exception. The hotel recently started another renovation, one that woke me up the other day at 7 am. A "heads up" would have been nice. Breakfast is what you can expect in the UK: an English breakfast with a small selection of what you'd find for an intercontinental breakfast. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 10 years and I am surprised they cannot get things to a proper standard. Altogether, I would recommend this hotel for its location. If you are more interested in a nice, modern room that is clean, then I suggest you stay away from this hotel.

As a frequent guest in the accor group I wasn’t expecting to stay in a room for disabled people. Disappointed Fire alarm was running continually during breakfast due to a malfunction.

We had so many issues with our 3 rooms that it would be too long to list them. The biggest issue was when these were raised with reception or staff we were met with total disdain and no care factor at all! It was an amazing experience in how hospitality should not be done, as a hotel GM myself i was totally taken aback by the total disregard of hotel guests.

As a regular and loyal customer of the Bush hotel I was so let down by this visit! I stayed with my wife, and our family who had travelled from the USA, and specifically chose this hotel as we always stay here when visiting Farnham, and since childhood have been coming here for Sunday lunches and afternoon teas whilst living in Farnham. I understand that there was major renovation of the upper rooms which we had not been informed about when booking! I paid for 3 executive privilege rooms for us all to stay in and got two rooms of this “category” and the third one a very substandard room for 3 at the end of the hotel well away from the family! My wife has done a full review of all the problems encountered!

We booked this hotel as we always stay here when visiting family, and have done so for over 30 years! I appreciate that there was building work being carried out to maintain standards of refurbishment, but not getting bookings correct several months prior to visit is not acceptable, not hotels fault I gather but Accor hotels reservations centre! I had booked 3x privilege rooms and these were not made up as privilege rooms! Last minute “housekeeping” to put the extras in....but we were 2 adults in 2 rooms and 2adults and one 10 yr old in another, and amenities for only one were put in wash room! There was no bottle openers for the inclusive drinks in the fridge, only one coffee cup in both rooms and the 3rd room did not have the nespresso or toiletries normally provided, and only one set of towels! Housekeeping did not clean our coffee cups or replenish any of the coffees or milk, I had to wash ours up in the bathroom sink and ask at reception for coffee top ups!

worst hotel experience ever

Mr S. H. Business - 11/06/2019 AccorHotels certified review

The fast check in encouraged online, turned out to be nothing of the sort. The 'executive double' looked like a hovel with stained headboard and torn curtains. There is no way you should be letting out that room 'Harris' for any price let alone £220 a night! The refurbished room we were hastily moved to because we complained must have only just been signed off, as there was still plaster dust on the floor and grouting not cleaned off the tiles in the shower and the air con was not connected yet, so with the windows open, all you could hear were the building contractors drinking their cans of beer from sainsbury's carrier bags beneath the window. Totally not what we needed after a 3.5hr drive from Devon to our business in Farnham and a long working day. Then I had pre-booked the restaurant for a family birthday meal, only to find there was a function on and we were sat in another room. The food we were served was poor and again overly priced for the standard; uncooked burgers and my salad was not fresh. Im appalled on several levels, firstly Farnham is my home town and the Bush hotel used to be somewhere special, I even got married there and to see it has gone so down hill is sad. Secondly, I appreciate the attempts at refurbishment are necessary and disruptive, but seriously you should not be letting out rooms at the same executive rates without informing people, so that they know what to expect. And you should not give a false picture of a room on the website if that is not the one the person is buying! This is false advertising. Thirdly, there are several H&S hazards around the hotel, ripped carpet on the stairs, electrics hanging down in the corridor were were placed in, this is not acceptable. Fourthly, I'm sorry but the food you are serving is not good enough to be charging what you are charging. Get a better chef, buy better quality food and then you can charge those rates and I will happily pay them. Fifth and last, your staff, train them better and get more of them! Check out Lainston House Hotel near Winchester, they charge the same prices and run a 5 star hotel and they are doing it very well.

Very poor, should not be letting out rooms until refurbishment is complete

Honestly the worst experience Ive ever had at a hotel. Website did not say the hotel was mid refurbishment. The 'executive double' booked was tatty with stained headboard and torn curtains, we refused to stay in it, were relocated to a 'refurbished room' which would have been nice had it been actually finished, building and plaster dust still in bathroom, aircon not connected yet, the corridor it was in was mid building site, the torn carpet on the stairs was a H&S hazard. Then the restaurant id booked online was full with a function so we were sat in another room, and the burgers ordered were not cooked properly and my salad was past its best. We got a refund and ended up staying somewhere else which after a long drive from Devon and a working day was not appreciated. Such a shame, we'd had a wonderful wedding there only 5 years ago, don't know what has happened to place! but they really shouldn't be advertising the rooms at executive prices when the hotel and staff are in such a disarray, its totally unacceptable by todays standards.

From needing to change rooms due to faulty bathroom fixtures to loud noises being heard from other guests (very thin walls) and hotel staff to rude staff, refurbishment works throughout the hotel and then when we moved we moved directly above the wedding that played incredibly loud music till 1am. Horrible beds, pillows and linen with stains on them. Doors not closing correctly letting light and noise through underneath to uncarpeted hallways. List goes on. Terribly unpleasant stay. Would not recommend in its current state. I understand refurbishment works are difficult during normal operations but there are better ways of doing it and most of our issues where not related to this anyway.

Shame about the ongoing refurbishment

Mary B. Families - 08/06/2019 AccorHotels certified review

We booked this hotel as our son was getting married in Farnham the following day, We were a group of 6 (including our son and best man), and we felt this hotel would provide a good quality service and give us a relaxing stay before the wedding. Unfortunately firstly when we arrived we discovered there was building work taking place.. The rooms we were originally allocated had very recently been painted and the paint fumes were so over whelming, we had to ask to change rooms. We were given alternative rooms for which we were grateful, but our original rooms were unfit to sleep in so it was disappointing we were put in this position in the first place. Secondly , as my son was getting married the following day, when we returned to the hotel later in the evening just after 11pm, we were hoping to have a drink in the bar. The bar was closed, and even though we were a group of 6 (and had booked 4 rooms between us), the hotel were unwilling to open the bar for us. This may have been due to lack of staff, but as it was a Friday night and we were paying guests, the hotel should have been more adequately staffed. We were offered room service but we were very cramped all squashed into one of our bedrooms! The main hotel building is beautiful and the staff were doing their best, but we have stayed at Accor Hotels many times before including the Mercure brand and expected a much better hotel experience.

Well known hotel. I have stayed many times. If anything , some of the rooms are a bit ran down and breakfast room, as the bar which has been refurbished, it could also do with a bit of reno and a few freshly items in the morning for breakfast.

The location is perfect, right in the center of Farnham. The hotel itself is old and the rooms who have not been refurbished are in dire need of it. The WiFi is good, but no gym onsite. The local gym can be used for 7,40 GBP. The breakfast is ok but very English. Luckily there is a supermarket right across the street if you want to eat something else.
