Long corridors to many different buildings - through a bar and out of a door up some stairs and down the corridor- Are we there yet? Oh the TV doesn’t work - the kettle is very old - I didn’t realise they still make that buiscut? Haven’t seen that brand for years! Quaint!

Absolutely disgusting, the service we received was aphualing. I would never stay at your hotel again. The staff are beyond rude! Everyone turns there noses up at us! Bedroom was disappointing we stayed in the executive suite 609 , we would told we had we would have a. Spa gift which we never received and robes and slippers and a mini fridge which we never had. We was told that when we asked that was for privilege rooms why was it on the email and we couldn’t have it! The food was the nicest thing about the stay. Some of the waiters so rude!!! Only person who was nice was Cristian the restaurant manager... Spa staff were really rude and snobby... Really disappointed... would like a refund tbh.

« Staying under difficult circumstances but the whole experience was everything we could have wished for. »

Karen Bettina (Events Manager) Organised everything we needed at this difficult time. She is an asset to the hotel , dealing with our requests with professionalism, efficiency and more importantly, empathy. Nicole who served us at the wake and evening meal also deserves a mention. She too did the hotel proud. Thank you both. Reception staff were very pleasant too. Perhaps an upgrade of the reception area would be beneficial. With the building being very grand the reception was disappointing in comparison. Rooms were fabulous, clean and spacious.

I stayed in room 125 and some sort of generator or fan kept going on and off. If it stayed on or stayed off that would have been fine but all night everything it re-started I woke up

« Poor room - Children not able to use the pool and I did ask when I booked and was told yes. »

You then tried to charge me twice for my room - We had no toilet roll the 2nd night I had to go looking for a cleaner to get some whilst my son sat on the loo. I then tried to use the iron and was broke and had to ring reception to bring a replacement. Then ordered ice cream for my little boy came was wrong and was asked "well do you not want this one?" The trip cost me £260 I seriously can not believe you charged me this and am so disappointed and will be making an official complaint.

I booked a reviver package for my birthday with 7 friends. We all really enjoyed our stay and especially our visit to the spa. Anne in the spa really looked after us for the whole weekend and made the experience very special. Please pass on my thanks to her. Unfortunately in my room there were a couple of significant hygiene issues, however when I reported these the receptionist dealt with the issue in an acceptable manner. There was also no record of our dinner reservation despite making a booking and checking this prior to our visit, fortunately the restaurant was quiet and could accommodate us!

enjoyed the swimming pool and saunas. disappointed that our treatments got cancelled due to staff people unwell, have been given a bed and breakfast to make up for this however this was not the break we booked as our break included dinner and treatments. This means we will have to spend more money. Found string in food, only got apologies from staff- very dangerous. Nice exterior to the hotel and gardens. Room furniture was all damaged and broken tiles, ripped curtains etc. food fatty and poor.

The Dunkenhalgh is a lovely hotel nestled conveniently near the M65 but in it's own tranquil setting. The reception and the grounds were lovely and general facilities were adequate. On arrival the fast check-in, whilst manned, was not being used as such and I was asked once again for my card to take a pre-authorisation on, making the online check-in experience completely pointless. We received a text at 2:30 to say our room would be ready at 2pm. The room was a superior twin which came with "upgraded" toiletries (Mercure branded single use), towels and robes (that weren't in the room when we arrived and we had to ask for them) and Sky TV (with the worst navigational system I've ever seen on a TV) The standard of the room for a "Superior" was a little disappointing with dust in the shower air vent, a cracked mirror, paper coming off the wall and what looked like the remnants of a poly filler maintenance job combined with lots of little dead flies in the ceiling light. We took advantage of the spa which was a relaxing experience and the treatments were adequately priced. We took advantage of the breakfast which had good opening times and a good selection of nice food both cooked and continental.

« Good value and lovely staff but tired decor - would pay more for upgraded facilities »

The room was clean and the spacious and the bed was comfortable but we have been visiting this hotel for over 25 years and the rooms really need a refit - even when I have upgraded to a higher specification room we have had the same experience - it seems a pity that such a beautiful building is being neglected
