No air conditioning in room when it had been confirmed verbally over the phone, breakfast in the room was ok once the the tea, coffee and toast had been delivered following a phone call. No papers with breakfast as this was a 'misprint' on breakfast form. Breakfast wasnt cleared away well into the afternoon (following another call to reception). Evening meal was very good though.

We stayed for a night. Staffs performance and friendly behaviour is very good. Unfortunately Plumbing in toilet and shower was defective and broke down on the following morning. upon our report staff came but failed to put it right. Alternative bath and toilet in different room offered .

Room 69 was roasting and requires a management visit as this room should not be used. I believe the issue is the extract duct directly below the floor of this, and other rooms I'd expect. I contacted reception and they arranged a fan to be dropped off which didn't really help. I arranged a move for my second night. Can't recall her name, but the Blonde haired lady who works the bar lacks manners and customer care. Samuel's a fantastic worker and great with the customers.

Poor service from both room service, over 1 hour wait for a simple steak and salad, even when it arrived it was wrong, and breakfast, where I gave up waiting for 2 poached eggs at 7.00 am when the restaurant was virtually empty. Room not serviced correctly. Bar areas needed table clearing, there were no clean glasses for a pint of beer and there seemed no pride in the staff. Also, mistakes made with check in meaning I had to go to reception after room service, as I was not allowed to put my meal onto my bill.

We stayed 4 nights, and it seems clear that money saving changes have been implemented since previous visits. Tea, coffee (only decaf), toiletries including toilet roll - not rolls- were cut to the absolute minimum. Staff performed their duties adequately, but there was no warmth -particularly from the bar staff. Tea was served without saucers, beer with no beer mats, food as if it were an effort. Also the quality of evening meals was quite poor (e.g. well overcooked and dry chicken in the piri-piri burger.

Have wanted to stay here for a while and although I wasn't disappointed it didn't quite the experience I expected. Paid extra for a 'privilege ' room and don't feel extra expense was justified. Advertised as having a Nespresso machine but as given measly 3 pods between 2 of us, not exactly worth it, especially as only left 1 mug. Had to ask for another and then brought a cup and saucer. Would think hotel could stretch to matching crockery. Drinks fridge didn't quite fit into cupboard either which entailed lots of manoeuvring to open and close doors. Bed very comfortable. Shower good once you have worked out how to get hot water. Pity the power only works with cold water. Pressure not nearly as good with hot. Decor adequate but perhaps a little dated. Breakfast ok, would be great if vegetarians weren't an afterthought. Plenty sausages, bacon and black pudding for meat eaters but vegetarians told 'could ask chef if they could put vegetarian sausages on if you really want but it will take a while'. Would also be good if waitresses didn't gossip about other guests. Privilege rooms miles away. Also inconvenient to walk outside between buildings when going for a swim.

I think the hotel itself is nice although perhaps a bit dated. I found that there is good signage to get around as it is a big place. My gripe is that I ordered breakfast in my room as a little treat to myself and duly filled out the card and put it outside my door but my breakfast was never delivered so that was very disappointing!

Durong my first stay it was fine. My next stay I brought my wife with. There were 2 single beds and I had booked a double room. The mattress was worn as i could feel the springs. The pillows were hard as rock. The extractor fan kept me up most of the night.

Room service is charged at £5 then you get wood knives and forks in cardboard cartons, not good when it was a curry! Showers very rarely work correctly and smell! No more biscuits in room :(

Lovely surroundings. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast didn’t disappoint . Quite a lot of the hotel was tired. Sealer around our sink was coming off, carpets and decor looked very tired. A freshen up would make a huge difference.

I enjoyed everything about the hotel and wish we had stayed longer. Really enjoyed the gym which often I don’t do in a hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was satisfactory but if anything to be improved on is some more healthy options (there were a few already) and the only complaint my sons had were the scrambled eggs that looked white rather than yelllow.
