Durong my first stay it was fine. My next stay I brought my wife with. There were 2 single beds and I had booked a double room. The mattress was worn as i could feel the springs. The pillows were hard as rock. The extractor fan kept me up most of the night.

The hotel is beautiful and the room we had was amazing. But the hotel had 2 functions on they didn’t tell us about and the music was so loud and lasted till 11pm. The food was average at best. The breakfast was self serve and Luke warm

Room service is charged at £5 then you get wood knives and forks in cardboard cartons, not good when it was a curry! Showers very rarely work correctly and smell! No more biscuits in room :(

Lovely surroundings. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast didn’t disappoint . Quite a lot of the hotel was tired. Sealer around our sink was coming off, carpets and decor looked very tired. A freshen up would make a huge difference.

I enjoyed everything about the hotel and wish we had stayed longer. Really enjoyed the gym which often I don’t do in a hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was satisfactory but if anything to be improved on is some more healthy options (there were a few already) and the only complaint my sons had were the scrambled eggs that looked white rather than yelllow.

We visit at least once a year. Usually for our wedding anniversary and due to poor service in 2018 we were invited back at a discounted rate in 2019. I can’t say there had been a marked improvement this year either. It took 20 minutes to be served at the bar to wait another 20 minutes for the drinks (cocktails) to be made - this happened multiple times. The room wasn’t very clean with flies on the bathroom window sill and in the bottom of the bath. The spa was nice but the woman operating was miserable and gave the impression she couldn’t be bothered. Dinner in the Cameo restaurant was ok; breakfast was nice but little choice of pastries and cereals. I’m disappointed that yet again I’ve been left less than satisfied again as this is such a special place for us to visit.

The staff and everyone were very good and in general made to feel very welcome the only objection we had is that on our last day our room had not been cleaned and a bag of new towels was just left on the floor.

Booked a priviledge package. When the staff member at check in noticed a wheelchair, offered a "classic" room, which would be closer, but no mention of discount. No discussion around emergency procedures re a wheelchair. We were in room 715, 2nd floor, just about the furtherest room from reception.

I was very excited when we pulled up outside the hotel, beautiful building on the out side, in side a let down, except for the beautiful stairs and stained glass window. The lounge seating and carpet were filthy, stained, the bedroom (room 51) carpet stained and black mould in the bay window and on the curtain. Staff uniforms a bit grubby. Resturant in need of a good make over, most of what I saw needs a good make over. You have the building and the stairs, make the best of it.

Looks good from the outside but awful inside

Had to change my room due to extractor fan outside and food smells, room was in a poor state( no16). Unable to get a table in the restaurant and the bar for food and then had to walk 1.5 miles to a takeaway. New room (62) was a lot better but remote for tv did not work, duty manager did replace straight away but at 10 pm at night it is not what you want to be doing.

Me and my Mum had an excellent stay with you for my birthday. The spa ladies and treatments were wonderful, the food was lovely and the staff were extremely attentive. I want to especially pick out Nicole as she looked after us brilliantly on both Saturday and Sunday night. A very lovely lady! Our first allocated room (210) was rejected by us as it heavily smelt of cigarette smoke. The porter Neil who was in attendance dealt with it swiftly and professionally and my wife and I were extremely pleased with our replacement room. All other aspects of our stay were to our satisfaction. We ate in the restaurant on our first day and had breakfast on both mornings and were quite happy with the experience. The hotel building itself we felt was a bit tired but that said, it was clean and our bedroom had one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. We would stay again (as long as it is not 210).
