This was our second choice hotel as first fully booked but was certainly better than we expected. The hotel and staff were welcoming. Food very good although drinks rather pricey.

I stayed in the hotel on a business trip. I ordered room service by calling into the restaurant on my way back to my room from the spa. I was given the option of payment when I checked out the following day which I took up. When my meal arrived about an 50 min later the member of staff asked to see my room key/folder. He then stated that I was not able to have this meal added onto my bill and would have to come with him to pay the bill. He kindly said that I could eat my meal first but then I would have to attend the restaurant at the other end of the hotel to settle the bill before 22:00hrs. I advised him that I was still working and this was the reason why I had booked room service to allow me to continue working in my room. He insisted that I would have to attend. I informed him that I would not attend and would settle the account fully as I have done many times in hotels around the world. At 2140hrs he called back and again stated that I would need to attend the restaurant before 22:00hrs as they were closing. I stated I would not attend and spoke to a supervisor who also stated that I would need to attend. I refused and as I had been advised that I could pay in the morning stated that this is what I was going to do. I then called the duty manager , stated my position and that I would settle the bill in the morning. They accepted this. In the morning I went to the restaurant and settled my bill immediately. I did not appreciate the way that the staff members dealt with this the previous meeting and felt this was a poor reflection of the way that you view guests. I can be trusted to pay my bill and the staff member in the restaurant had offered that this was an option for me when I ordered the meal. P.S My meal was cold which just added to my negative view of this service.

Lovely hotel and facilities. Food gr8 esp brekky. Sink in bathroom the water was so hot and couldn't get any cold but apart from that its gr8. Been here several time b4 and will continue to stay here when I'm in the area.

The staff team were excellent. The gentlemen on the front desk was pleasant and helpful. Spa staff were very professional. Also, the restaurant and bar staff were really chatty making the whole experience lovely. Facilities at the spa were really good and also our room, which had been upgraded for us, was comfortable with a lovely view.

Very poor. We paid for a superior room. If these are superior then god help anyone staying in anything less expensive! Hotel cold in general The 'new' wing with the 'superior' rooms required an outside walk to get to. Not ideal in the snow! Yes there is a roof but still totally exposed to the elements. Duty manager did all he could to assist us, but this hotel really needs to address its pricing in return for this standard of accommodation. Very poor standard and I wouldn't recommend.

Booked a "two together" spa weekend. Upgraded room was clean and very good although there were issues with the shower and the coffee machine. The food exceeded our expectations and the service in the restaurant was top notch. Breakfast was again very good with a great choice. Dietary issues were all handled brilliantly and the staff seemed well aware of options available. The Spa and treatments were again very good. All in all very happy with the weekend stay.

« Convenient location just off the motorway »

Great first impression from the outside, however the reception staff were having an argument on the phone with guests waiting to check in, poor directions to the room (bar staff came to the rescue), room in the 'back of beyond', terrible uncomfortable bed, poor lighting in the room. I didn't eat dinner in the hotel as the menu seemed limited, breakfast was average and expensive for what it was.

Stayed in room 65 .The carpet was dirty and there were stains on the Chair .The room smelt of damp and even worse when in the bath could see what looked like sick streaks on the underside of wash basin .Evening meal was also poor £15 for a steak burger that was nit tasty, presented badly and chips were obviously frozen .Very poor

I have booked the hotel with my Dinner last week, but the details of my prepaid Dinner was not passed to the Cafeteria, I was made to wait / stand till the confirmation was dine with the reception, the same thing got repeated the next day and I had to stand as the staff had to crosscheck with the reception again. It was really embarrassing to me to stand there and wait even though I had paid my bills in advance not once but twice on consecutive days and may be more if I had done my advance dinner booking in advance for more days. I have been staying in your hotel for past 2 months , but this experience has made me think should I continue booking you Hotel in my future stays. « Room (49) in your courtyard really needing some renovation. »

No hot water in my room. Duty manager arranged another room for shower in the evening. Had to shower in your health club in morning Waited over an hour for room service - was advised at the time and having no choice had to grin and bear it. Breakfast was ok not spectacular. I would say, however, your duty manager and reception staff tried hard to please. Your reception gentlemen did give me £25 off my bill but an establishment like yours shouldn’t be in this position. I use hotels all over UK and must say thus was one of the poorest I’ve stayed in

The event was well organised and staff very friendly but we did have a couple of health and safety issues - a dead mouse in the room, and a broken floorboard and so a hole in the floor into which one of the attendees fell. Both these issues were dealt with promptly but they should not have occurred in the first place
