Very slow service at reception, no fast track for gold member. Call to receptionist around 20:00 but nobody answer. After stay no night, no point added to Le club. Try to redeem the point you have to remember your room No. Poor Accor Chain from Le club gold member.

Everything about this hotel is old and degraded except the marketing campaign and the photos of the rooms. The view is certainly impressive, and the muezzin calling at 3 am next door is very authentic.

Had booked the hotel based on reviews using my Accor membership. On checking in on day of arrival if was promptly given a room (city view, which is what i booked). On going to the room I realized that I was assigned a smoking room when i had indicated during online checkin that I wanted a nonsmoking floor. When I notified the reception they immediately rectified and not only that i was upgraded to a Nile view room which had great views. My overall experience with the staff (reception, concierge, restaurant, housekeeping) was very good. The restaurant was great for breakfast with a good buffet spread. I particularly loiked the travel desk who organised a car+driver for me to go to Giza and Saqqara. Hani was an excellent driver. The location of the hotel is very good and I walked to the Egyptian museum on the fist day - 10-15 min walk. Its also not very far from the airport. Only area of improvement: I had emailed them a few days before my trip asking them for airport pickup suggestions. There was no response to that email. For first time travellers like me, Cairo can be a bit daunting esp. on arrival with all the taxi touts at the airport. Would have appreciated a response from the hotel. Will definitely stay again if I visit Cairo again.

On arrival we were told our room would be ready in 15 minutes and to have a seat. Over an hour later we were finally given our room key. No information on the hotel or surrounding area was shared. We went up to the room to find it in very poor condition. The linens (sheets and towels included) had stains , holes or both in them. The floor had a tacky unclean feeling. We spent as little time as possible in the room because it was so terrible. The following morning we went down for the buffet breakfast but decided to pass because of the appearance of the food. Overall it was the worst hotel experience we have had in a very long time. We spend around 150 nights a year in hotels, so that is really saying something. It's too bad because the location is nice.
