« Ok, but could be better with not much effort »

2 nights for business

« A very pleasant experience. »

There isn't much I can say, really. The hotel is basic but really all I needed was somewhere to store my things and to sleep for three nights while I attended a local music festival during the days. The cost of the room was more than acceptable and for a bit extra you could pre-book your breakfast. The breakfast itself was filling and a good selection of food was provided and, if you booked your breakfast in advance, you could help yourself to as many hot drinks as you wanted; these you could either drink in the restaurant, in your room or you could take them away with you. This did go some way to softening the blow of not having a kettle, a cup or any tea bags, milk or sugar in the room. I think (although I can't be sure) that this was the first time I had experienced no drink-making facilities in any hotel room I've ever stayed in. If you don't want breakfast provided by the hotel there are numerous facilities just a short walk across the car park which were sufficient for my needs, at least. It is a pity that there was no bath but I think, sadly, that the days of hotels providing baths in the rooms is a thing of the past. Yes, the cost of the three-night stay was not expensive but I would gladly have paid much more for a room with a bath. That said, the shower provided was the easiest to use out of all of the showers in all of the hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. I have stayed in Ibis hotels before in other parts of the country and the same is true of all of the showers in all of their hotels -- the easiest to use EVER! My one big gripe is that, on my arrival, the receptionist tried to charge me more than £100 because she said that the amount was outstanding. This was not the case at all: I had paid the entire amount in full several months previously so I was not due to pay anything. Fortunately I had had the presence of mind to print out the confirmation email detailing everything connected with the reservation, including the fact that the amount had been paid in full. I simply handed her the copy of the printout and, after a short while, she conceded to the fact that no more money was due. However, if I hadn't taken a print out of the email confirmation I doubt that she would have taken my word for it but one thing IS certain: I most certainly would NOT have paid an extra +£100 so it would have been interesting to see how that would have played out. All in all a very pleasant stay in a hotel which I would certainly recommend to anyone who needs overnight stay in the local vicinity.

« A comfortable, well located hotel. »

Comfortable with a choice of eating places nearby. The staff are friendly and eager to please.

« Disappointed »

Very small room for 3 people. Disappointed that there were no facilities to make drinks in the room. I know it is a budget hotel but does not compare favourably with other budget hotel chains. For the cost of the room I would have expected slightly more.

« Good value for money! »

Everything was fine. The only thing I would like to see are tea/coffee facilities in the rooms!

« Clean, functional, convenient, no fuss. »

Clean, functional, convenient, no fuss but a little basic if you require luxury breaks.

« Whenever we visit this hotel we are always satisfied. We get excellent help and service from all membners of staff »

Whenever we visit our daughter who lives in Derbyshire, we now use the Budget Ibis Hotel on the Burton and Derby services site. Whenever we attend we get excellent help and service from all members of staff and this includes the room cleaners. Whenever we come up from Kent to visit our daughter we will always use this particular hotel because of the excellent service we get from all members of staff.

« A very underwhelming experience »

There is always large scale maintenance work being done here. It's like a building site. The site with fast food restaurants, main road alongside and lorry park outside the front door make it very noisy. This is very much a BUDGET motel in all respects except price.

« Basic but ideal for a one night stay;exceptional cleanliness »

Signage a bit tricky but once found the hotel was well-staffed and gave excellent budget-style value for money-I would recommend Ibis Budget to anyone if the Derby hotel is typical

« Welcoming, comfortable and clean »

We stayed one night only. On line booking in advance meant that check was efficient and quick with a friendly welcome. Public areas were clean as was the room. We did not have time for breakfast but food looked ok and what you would expect from a budget hotel. We would visit again.

« Very satisifed, clean room, excellent bathroom facilities and friendly staff »

Very helpful and friendly receptionist. Room was really clean and the air con had been left on to keep it cool, staff informed us of the free wifi. Bathroom was lovely and clean and the shower was good and hot. Just some tiny, fussy things to stop it being a 10. The tablet to put your car details in could do with updating as it was very difficult to push some buttons, took me a few attempts, would have been nice to be issued with 2 keys on arrival for a twin room. Very happy with the stay overall

« We often stay here due to it being so quiet & clean. »

We often stay here due to it being so quiet & clean. Still lovely & clean but my word there were children/teenagers making a lot of noise until 23.00 hrs. Also noise (raised voices) from reception at around 04.00 hrs.

« It was pleasant and good value for money. »

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but it would be advisable to clean and replenish coffee and fruit juice machines before breakfast starts rather than holding people up during breakfast. The room was bright and cheerful, but I missed tea and coffee making facilities. There was no decaff coffee in the coffee machine downstairs either.
