After a bit of a farce around being booked into the unfinished airport Novotel, we were transferred to the cathedral location. Apart from a slight delay due to needing to change bedding configuration, everything else was perfect.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the rooms nice. I feel that the fact that you charge for internet is ridiculous, i travel a lot for work and 99% of hotels have free wifi.. also a coffee machine in the rooms would be a positive addition. Most heels these days also provide a free water each day ( that is a value added at a cost to you of maybe 30cents.

We found the hotel to have an excellent central location - literally facing the (ruined) cathedral. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed. We never used the bar or restaurant so cannot comment on these. We arrived by hire car and had trouble finding the hotel - better directions would be useful. Once we found the hotel, our next issue was finding the entrance to the hotel car park - again instructions were not clear.

Room was fine. breakfast was pretty ordinary. They didn’t have our Expedia booking and then tried to charge us again when I paid through Expedia

Great location directly overlooking cathedral. and close to all tourist attractions. some great restaurants nearby too. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic with an large range of options available

Terrific location, high quality accommodation, friendly helpful staff and excellent food. Our second visit did not disappoint. Very comfortable beds and pillows, spacious rooms and well appointed bathroom. Easy access to the CBD. As an Accor member we were treated like royalty.

Not the customer service I would expect from the Novotel. Upon checking in we were told there was no room booked in our name, there was however the young lady at reception misunderstood our surname, which is R. and not that difficult. I later discovered she looked up RENG and decided we were not booked as opposed to checking the spelling or asking for identification, like a passport. The first attempt to check in was made by my wife, when I went to another counter we were checked in straight away. Overall the rest of the experience was fine however your breakfast effort is a bit lack lustre.

I had 2 nights at the hotel. This included 2 breakfast and 1 dinner at the hotel. Room was clean and tidy. Great bed. The basic level of glasses, cutlery made it difficult to host someone in my room eg 1 teaspoon for hot drinks, 1 one glass. The fact that internet data was not included in the price is enough to put me off returning. With the high price of rooms this is a basic service to provide.

This is a nice & well-located hotel but with odd day & night character staffs. From my observations, there is the day helpful ones & the night not-so helpful cold ones. We check-in late towards evening without any hassle until I enquire for an upgrade under my Gold membership status. Upon the front desk reception referencing my upgrade enquiry with this “Big Bearded Bi-Spectacle Guy”, his response perplexed me. I quote – “if you had stayed for just one or two nights, we could upgrade you”. In my entire travel stay with Accor Hotels and I mean I am a very frequent guest of Accor chain of hotels almost all over the world except US & Middle-East since 2008, I suddenly became confused by his response. Did he mean that I do not need to be too loyal or was it loyalty does not pay? Whenever I got out for my night finale puff around 9-10+pm, I observed that the Hotel did not seem to be on heavy occupancy for that period judging from the lighted rooms. The hotel did not seem busy with little guest movements around. So, I am not sure what his response meant, either he did not acknowledge my loyalty or because I am an Asian traveller. However, the day front desk staffs were helpful & friendlier especially Allie…..Thank You for your hospitality, it was a consolation for my duration of stay. One last comment about the room bath area – 1) I strongly suggest to renovate the bath-tub into a glass panel open shower area, it’s a lot more safer & practical & 2) your current shower faucet hose is way too SHORT & restrictive – I recommend to have it another feet or two longer.

Nice & well-located hotel but kinda of cold hospitality

This is a nice & well-located hotel but with odd day & night character staffs. From my observations, there is the friendly group & the kinda cold hostile group. So your check-in experience depends on their group shifts (test of your luck which group you encounter when you check-in). Don’t get your hopes too high on privileges if you are an Accor member cos they can give you odd reject responses. Its either they do not acknowledge your loyalty or because you are an Asian traveller. However, Allie of their front desk had been my consolation for the duration of my stay with her helpful & friendly hospitality. One last thing you need to note about their room bath area – 1) they shld renovate & change the bath-tub into a glass panel open shower area, it’s a lot more safer & practical & 2) their current shower faucet hose is way too SHORT & restrictive – shld be a feet or two longer. If you are staying there, just don’t expect too much of welcoming feeling, it feels kinda cold & empty with just a handful of exceptional staffs.

This is incredibly disappointing feedback to receive for a guest and a even more disappointing from an accor member. It sounds like you formed a great relationship with Allie during your stay but unfortunately not all the team. We have investigated the reason we were unable to give you a upgrade this stay and regrettably it was because we didn't have a room available for all four nights of your stay, only the first two. We didn't want you to have to change rooms during your stay but should have offered you the option rather that making that choice for you. I thank you for the positive comments in the review and we will continue to work on our weaknesses so we can provide the best service and experience possible. I hope one day you give us a chance to earn back your trust
