staff overall friendly, but not well managed initially booking an executive room, I was friendly offered an upgrading to a suite but very disappointed by suite which is located on 11th floor, a non executive floor the carpet at this floor is old, mouldy and smelly my breakfast experience at lounge on 25th floor was awful even insulting, although staff are friendly but overloaded by situation; the food quality is just worse than street food qualtiy: breakfats tea not hot, steam meat buns very dry (seems to be warmed by micro-wave, and sit there for hours before customers serving), I asked for smoked salmon refilling, but not done I was waiting for one hour sitting there and chasing waiter to fulfill.... paying the price at 1360RMB/night, I just have feeling being cheated. with this price, I have so many other choices for high standard hotel in the area..... I will not stay at hotel any more and I will discourage my friend and colleague to go there. Besides I need to understand why waiters and cooks (japanses restaurant on 25rd floor) do not take service elevator while transporting food and ustensils, but customer elevation with bulky cart. and they are not trained to let customers go out of elevator first.... no courtesy toward customers.

We started happily check in ourselves with Susan Li at front desk. As we will be leaving the hotel at 5:30am the next day, we asked for takeaway breakfast. At 5:30am sharp, we were checking out and there were 6 packets of breakfast ready for takeaway. When we politely told the front desk lady that we have ordered breakfast but were told these 6 packets were reserved for guests checking out at 6:00am. We explained that our flight leaving at 7am and have to leave for the airport. We were told to either go to the restaurant to pick it up ourselves or wait for 10 minutes. When we asked if we could take from the 6 packets as it was now 5:45...by 10 minutes she could have replace the 2 packets for the 6:00am check out guest....she was unhappy & called someone on the line. After hanging up, she told us "you can take" ! What an attitude !

Room was excellent. Very clean. Front desk staff very polite. But except restaurant at 1/F. I was the first comer to enjoy buffet but was allocated the worst seat. The waiter told me all other seats were reserved and allocated to other clients. No other seat can be available.

The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. My room is upgraded to a sea view room. I've offered a late check out too. The lobby is newly renovated. Nice coffee shop at the lobby.

Thank you for asking for my feedback. Particularly for this trip to Shenzhen, I am happy with my accommodation in Grand Mercure hotel. I want to specially mentioned about one of your front desk officer Miss Susan Wang Zhi Hui, she has made my stay feel homely. She is presentable, professional, warmth and exceptionally helpful. During my 5 night’s accommodation, due to some personal reason, I have to split payment for my room charges into 5 separate times, which required daily settlement. Coincidentally, Zhi Hui was the officer who has served me for all my payments, she behaved in a very patient manner, and offered alternative plans when my credit card was having issues during the transaction and it works well. I am impressed with her services and I believe if she is given opportunity to lead the front desk, the overall services and customer satisfaction level with the hotel will be elevated to next higher level.

Property is rather dated and run-down for Grand Mercure standard, the toilet has a foul smell on the second day, bedsheet was stained and sound-proofing needs to be improved.

Step in the hotel lobby, the new check-in counter and the lobby cafe give me a good impression. Not only the decoration but also the staff, seems to be changed. Quicker and faster check-in. As usual, room was upgraded to next category, the suite. The executive lounge service is also improved, both the food and furniture. The Chinese Restaurant is still keeping the good standard. I have my dinner and lunch there.

« Excellent , but some minor disappointment with the buffet service and food availability »

This was my fourth time staying at the Grand Mecure. I have nothing but praise for the service from Reception and especially the Concierge service. I use your limo service from HK airport to the hotel and the organisation of that service is excellent. I felt that the service and food in the Buffet Restaurant has dropped off significantly. I had dinner there ion the Saturday evening and at 8.00pm the availability of choice of food was nil - very poor. 8.00pm is not too late to expect that the full range of food in the buffet will still be available, but it wasn't and it was indicated that it would not be available. The other issue is that in the past when you walked in to the buffet area, advised your room number and sat down you would be asked if you would like coffee. That service has gone and that is disappointing! Notwithstanding the above, the hotel staff are very helpful and friendly and that actually offsets some other minor deficiencies.! I think the restyling of the Reception area is to be complemented, as it gives the hotel a fresh modern impression when entering the hotel.

This was a regular hotel for me, however 3 years ago, I said would be my last visit. This time as an Accor member, location this trip was more convenient than Novotel.... I arrived at midnight, Check-in was quick, however no offer to help with my bag to the 22nd floor, the first bad point. When I stepped into the room, Suite, I was so taken back with first impressions of the condition, I was ready to go down and ask for a room change, just too tired. The suite has a kitchen, the best thing that could be done, would be to remove it...attempts have been made to fix it, nothing is straight, upper doors have water damage and have been painted, stainless panels have been glued with silicone, the silicone has not been removed. The timber furniture in the room is badly scratched. The room smelt damp.....though I presume I got used to that as I didn’t notice it 2nd and 3rd day. I opened the red wine from the mini bar........umh, no wine glasses,!!, I had to use a glass from the bathroom. The first day the room was cleaned, there was only one pillow on the bed!..I searched the room and finally found the other 3 in the cupboard under the television?????!...I searched because I didn’t want to just call reception. The bathroom appears that it had been renovated and was nice, a couple of points tough, the bench is too low. A tile came off the shower floor, and I note tiles were already missing around the sink taps. Good things, executive lounge was as comfortable and as pleasant as ever, I felt sorry for the lady serving me though the 3rd day, I was first in and the coffee machine broke, she had one bought up for me from downstairs. I’m positive the lobby has been redone, particularly the check in counter since I last stayed and it looks very nice. The lifts and hallways are tired, the woodwork again is marked and showing a lack of maintenance, it is a shame for what could be a very nice hotel.

I was only there for one night, I had an early morning near by. It was easy to get to the hotel from the airport, ferry terminal or even boarder from Hong Kong. The room was clean updated and nice, service was excellent.
