This was my sixth stay at this hotel in 3.5 years that I tend to use as a base whilst in China. I stay in Accor hotels when ever I can. This is my favorite hotel in China, because of its value for money and the service provided by Allen Zhou, Chief Concierge and his staff. This is an excellent service within the hotel, nothing is a problem and the service for non-Chinese speaking guests is exceptional. Allen and his staff provide a service that is comparable with any other 5 star hotel in China, or in fact anywhere in the world. Areas that need improvement are: - The Palm Court evening buffet in not inexpensive, but the variety of western dishes in the past 2 years has decreased to the detriment of guests and locals alike. - The credit card deposit amount when a guest books into the hotel needs a complete review as to the quantum and implementation of that deposit where services used within the hotel exceed the initial deposit. It is not the responsibility for the guest to monitor when the deposit will be exceeded. It is absolutely unacceptable to be challenged in the main hotel restaurant having finished a meal and then to be told you can't book the cost to your room because you have exceeded the deposit. I paid the restaurant with the same card as I paid the deposit. I was very taken a back when I was told by Reception staff that it was my responsibility to monitor the use of services that would exceed the original deposit! Seriously!!!! I t is easy to complain. but when an administrative service is excellent it needs to be acknowledged. After my problem with paying the restaurant I went directly to Reception and asked to pay my account to date in full. That freed up the full original deposit! As things happen, the staff member who took the credit card payment unfortunately calculated the payment against the wrong room number and my card was charged appropriately. 5 minutes later the young lady found me and apologised to me for the mistake. We did a credit for the mistake and that should have been the end of the matter. The next day I checked my bank and the debit was recorded but not the following credit. I phoned the bank in Australia and Eric Xiao, Guest Experience Manager checked with the hotel's bank. This went on through the day and Eric was exceptional in dealing with the bank in China to resolve the problem. It was agreed that as I was leaving China the next day i would contact Eric the following Monday to inform if the credit had been actioned. That was confirmed and I must thank Eric for his diligence and support in resolving the problem with the transaction. Both Allen Zhou and Eric Xiao are the reasons, notwithstanding the other problems in the hotel, that I will return to the Oriental Ginza in the future Paul N

I had a great stay at one of your suites. Was impressed with the cleanliness and responsive service of the housekeeping staff. Dining at the Chinese restaurant was superb. Breakfast was well laid out and presented great choices. I need to make special mention of extremely pleasant, attentive and personalised service of the front office staff where Ms Serena Li was outstanding in her customer care. Her service with a smile was exceptional.

It is really a 4-star hotel, but not a so-called 4-star one. It is my second time to stay in this hotel. The first time I came with my wife and daughter. The family room was big and good. This time I just came with my wife for leisure time. The double room is comfortable, silent, clean and spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. I did not take the breakfast in the hotel, but you can reach some nice traditional Chinese restaurants and rice roll stall/shop within three minutes walk. The hotel is located next to an underground station, but there is nothing to see around the hotel. You had better take an underground train to other places for dinner, shopping and sight-seeing. Fortunately, the train ticket is not expensive.

We were very happy with the soft gesture by the AM Allen who has prepared a birthday surprise for my wife. Thank you Allen. Location of the hotel is perfect with around 20-30 mins metro ride to Laojie and Luohu shopping area. I’ll skip the Chinese restaurant in the hotel as it doesn’t serve food of my personal taste, perhaps others may find it good. KFC is round the corner to the left of the hotel. Water and drinks at small convenience stall nearby. Walking around is kind of a little “localised” with local residential. Hotel’s check in is good. They have tried to speak English to me and appreciated. Property needs to be refurbish already especially the rooms although it’s clean and tidy. No fault at cleanliness. I have experienced a great service in your hotel, especially at the front desk, the service provide by Nikki. But there are two things that I have to mention. First, the lock of bathroom is broken down in the room 1720. The second one is the bellman. The bellmen are not help in your hotel. Each time I would like to take taxi to other places. I ask the bellmen to help for getting a taxi. But they never worked. They would just to help you to call taxi online by App even they saw the number of taxi have been passed outside of the hotel. No matter there is raining or not, they would never help. It is not the first time I come for accommodation. I hope you can mention my comments and improve it.

I enjoyed my stay at the Grand Mercure Shenzhen Oriental Ginza very much. As a ACCOR PLUS member, I get priority check in and upgrade (of course , subject to availability). Ms YEUNG/YANG at the front desk who assisted us was super nice. She has upgraded us and put the 5 of us in 2 very nice rooms. Thank you very much. The food at the Chinese restaurant restaurant was excellent. Generous portion and the quality of food was great. The hotel is located very close to the subway station. It's near the commercial area. I enjoyed it a lot because the area is quieter and less busy. They have a very nice gym (it's spacious and nice equipment) , decent swimming pool and spa where you can get massages. So you don't have to leave the hotel to get massages We had a pleasant stay and will return if we travel to SZ again!
