« Uncomfortable beds »

The bed was very uncomfortable which lead to poor sleep. I informed reception and they said they’d been told before and that the hotel was having a refurbishment next year. That information didn’t make the bed any comfier or make me sleep better. When housekeeping tidied my room one morning ... they removed my shampoo and conditioner. Reception were informed but not offer of reimbursement was provided.

we have stayed here previously and enjoyed the experience. Recent changes to the hotel have made the experience even nicer. The staff were lovely. The breakfast was good. We had an evening meal which was good value for money. We were visiting Bristol to go to a theatre performance and this was the perfect place to stay. When we arrived we were upgraded to the suite at the top of the hotel and that was a great added bonus. Thank you so much for a great stay.

« Nice rooms as always. Nothing spectacular but decent enough »

Overall good. I requested extra milk when booking the room and we had plenty provided on both the first and second nights. Even had a late brunch at the onsite restaurant after checking out, which was lovely. A great location and a nice long weekend.

« Absolutely Amazing Stay! »

We were so incredibly impressed with our stay! When I’d booked through the telephone booking service I’d mentioned that we were going to be celebrating my husbands birthday... We got to the hotel before check in time to leave our bag and went for lunch. When we got back we’ll after 2pm, unfortunately the room wasn’t ready so unbeknownst to us, the receptionist upgraded us from the superior I’d booked to a privilege room! We were so happy with the room, it was immaculate and like a luxurious home from home! We also found on the desk a birthday card and chocolates for my husband - such a lovely touch! We loved the room so much that we had to force ourselves to leave for the gig we’d travelled to Bristol for!! We went down and had a lovely cocktail in the bar which had a really nice atmosphere! The next morning we went down for breakfast and the choice of food was really good and it was all delicious!! We will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and will endeavour to stay there every time we visit Bristol! Thanks to all of the staff for making our stay so special!!

« Decent, but not quite as good as it used to be. »

Our Executive Room with river view felt pleadant and familiar. There were a few signs of deterioration (some cracked tiles unnthe bathroom and chipped paintwork), but nothing of great concern. Everything worked, and the housekeeping was good. Dining options gave been dramatically reduced since our previous visits. The dinner menu was extremely limited (we therefore went elswhere, but heard grumbles from fellow guests who didn’t), and the buffet breakfast was frankly poor. The tiny cold selection was crammed onto a very small section of the bar (it used to be a well laid out buffet), the hot dishes were too greasy, and tea and coffee is now from a self-service machine. The Marriott and Radisson Blu are currenlly well ahead. A pity, as we like to stick with the Accor group when we can, but I would have to think very carefully about our nxt visit to Bristol.

Reception staff lovely. Reception and bar area very nice. Room is good, don’t like wooden floors in a hotel room, too noisy. Bathroom well cleaned but tatty in places, black mould in places.

Booked a privilege room with river view. Nice large room with complimentary soft drinks and toiletries. We were supposed to have complimentary newspapers but those didn't materialise. Not much of a river view due to trees. Everywhere was clean and tidy and staff were polite and efficient. Location was central to everything and a nice, stroll from the railway station. We would return if the price was right.

Bedroom: Furnishings starting to look dated. Provision of USB plugs for charging next to bedhead needs to be urgently considered. Bathroom: Please supply a toilet brush. Shower OK but hardly exhilarating. Breakfast comments: The bar and bar level lighting dominated. It felt like the breakfast buffet was shoved in a corner on a few spare tables. The choice of cold items was very poor. Depressing rather than uplifting start to the day. Redesign the bar so that it can be used as a breakfast buffet and install better day time lighting

The room was good, however there were small issues had we been staying longer than one night I would have raised - cracked tiles on the bathroom floor and the bedlinen was stained/marked with black dots.

We like us at The Hotel and brigstow are our favourite Hotel. 2 things You must do something about. 1. The tiles in The shower is Very dirty. I have a picture if You want IT. 2. The hotel is in a great position for walking into the city centre or along the river, Nice friendly and helpful staff we had a nice room that overlooked the river but was a bit noisy in the early hours with people walking past talking loud , But we did enjoy our visit and will be returning soon.

Nice modern hotel, fab location for all bars, restaurants and shops and perfect for weekend break. My only negative point would be the cleanliness of room, lots of grime/dust between bed and bedside table and rim of toilet (noticed while sat in bath so not that easy to see) was quite horrid.

It is in a lovely spot and within walking distance of most of the central locations. Our room was fantastic and the hotel itself is well thought out. Our daughter is attending university in Bristol and her halls are only 30 seconds walk from the Mercure so we will be staying may times over the next three years.
