Did not spend too much time in the hotel but the time spent there was great. The room was as described and nicely presented, the booking in process was painless and all staff were really pleasant and helpful. We really enjoyed our two nights. However booked a room with river view at no point did you make it clear that the view was obscured by trees. Hot water tap leaked every time you turned it on. We did report but no action. Great breakfast and cocktails.

Nice, friendly welcome upon arrival and quick, easy check in. Room was comfortable with riverside view. Complementary items in fridge were a nice touch. Some areas of cleaning could be better but generally good.

We have stayed here a few times and have always found it very comfortable. The rooms are pleasant and well laid-out and the staff are helpful. The hotel is brilliantly located, close to the restaurants and pubs of the old part of the city and everything is within easy walking distance. It would be good for the hotel if they could get the council to crown-lift the plane trees along the riverside as this once sunny spot has become very shaded as the trees have grown. Only one very minor complaint - some elements of the buffet breakfast were not as hot as I would like, the bacon and sausages particularly. But this is a minor thing, the breakfast on the whole was excellent.

For the most part it was very pleasant, room was satisfactory although no efforts were made to make sure we had everything we needed. On speaking to a few cleaners in the lift, I have nothing bad to say - very pleasant!! However the staff at the desk were incredibly rude, they accused my partner (who in fact chose this particular hotel and paid for it) of not having a room there when he walked in at night with the key. Secondly whilst booking the hotel the price increased significantly on the spot and no help was offered to help us pay the original price we saw. It was in fact not the special birthday get away we had hoped for.

Very noisy. Door bang loudly; wooden chairs scrape on floors and make a lot of noise even from remote rooms. Building works at the back of the hotel started very early - 6:00 am - with machinery and scaffolding being clanked about. Terrible night's sleep

Hotel staff at check in were friendly, the room was clean, and comfortable, the staff at the hotels own restaurant were excellent in the evening, and really customer service orientated, the area outside the hotel is very busy with lots of outdoor drinking areas but all ok, although we were woken at approx 7am on a Saturday morning by the construction work at the back of the hotel, very loud noise of rubble being emptied into a skip, and machinery going, this continued until we left at 10am, no indication on the hotels website when booking that there is any construction work going on at the back of the hotel

Arrived early and we were able to leave our luggage until check in time. We were upgraded to a riverside view room so no idea what our original room would have been like. The room we were allocated was really nicely set out. It was large with a bathroom that had a bath and separate shower. Everything was clean and fresh. There were trees outside our room which afforded us not only a leafy view but privacy from buildings across the river also. Even though it was on the road/ river side and it was August Bank Holiday with lots going on in close proximity, the room was very quiet. We used the adjoining bar downstairs and found it to be a lovely place to relax with a drink. Overall our experience was fantastic.

not what i was expecting for a 4 star hotel

This was the worst premier room in any 4 star hotel that I have been to in 61 countries.. The room was very small . 6th floor room with no air conditioning , Floor boards that creaked and woke my wife up when I went to toilet in the night. you could also hear floor boards creaking at night from next room. only one of the smallest bars of soap in Bathroom. only 1 small lift and waiting times of up to 15 minutes because room maids were using it for bed linen trollies etc. Breakfast ,food over cooked and poor standard. we left after only 1 day because of poor standard instead of staying for 3 days

Whilst the Hotel itself appears to be very nice, I booked a Superior Room, which I had expected to be more superior than it actually was. There was no remote control for the TV. The surfaces in the room were sticky with cup rings and smears still visible. There was no water in the the fridge/room, only cartons of UHT Milk! We had to go to a nearby shop to purchase water at 6am!
