« Nice hotel »

This is a nice hotel based in the more financial / embassy area and it's pretty safe as it's quieter at night. We stayed there for 6 nights to celebrate New Year in Rio. The location is good if you want to visit many of the different sites, it's close to the metro and it doesn't take too long to get to Copacabana etc. The front staff are excellent, extremely friendly and very helpful, kudos to Rafael & Tiago. The breakfast was nice and the omlette chef is great. The room is an ok size and the cleaning staff are thorough. My only comnment would be that our covers and pillows smelled of sweat. We spoke to the front-room and cleaning staff and they responded immediately by changing them; the only thing was that the newer ones also smelled, just less so. Apart from that everything was great, so all in all I'd recommend it.

I am used to the room lay-out as I have stayed several times in this hotel. The whole facility is always clean and organized. The crew is kind and the services, when you ask, are quickly delivered. I missed a few things in this unit. - Better internet connection - the surroundings are very dark and desert at night. - the gym is nice but the treadmills are not working properly (speed meter is completely wrong on two of the treadmills) Other then that, everything was fine.

It was a quiet room and very clean. The only problem was that the wifi was not working well. A lot of interruptions and could not use the vpn connection of the company due to that.

the lady in front deck was inpatient when I asking question. she gave me a poke face during the time of waiting, they even chatting in Portuguese with her colleague front of us, loud and laughing. in certain way people may interpret it different way.

Good like always, but huge issues with the Internet, for which reason th efollowing mail was send to the Manager: Dear Vitor, my name is Eric Z. and I have been your guest since the Novotel Santos Dumont had been launched. In total I believe I have stayed in the hotel between 30 to 40 times over the last years. I always enjoy, the perfect comfort and the good service. It is well located. However, over the last 2 years I am facing a major issue: It looks like some changes in the Internet set-up has been done. I am using a common standard security program, that is called VPN, which is provided by my company. This system is also common Brasil for business purposes. Once I am connected to the internet (which is working without any problem), I always have to connect additionally with VPN in order to work. Since 2 years, this is not possible anymore in your hotel, and I am not able to work. I spent hours over the phone with your technical service provider. They are trying to help me and ask for my IP addressee to unblock it in your system. However that did not work. They asked me to check with the IT department of my company. I did that a lot of times and the answer is always the same: the problem is the internet set-up of the hotel. The IT provider of the hotel is saying: The problem is the set-up of your Laptop. Like this I am running between the two parties for 2 years now, without any improvement. I tend to believe, that the IT department of my company is correct. Why? I do not have this special issue in none of the Accor hotels (not at the Novotel Santiago de Chile / Novotel Botafogo/ Ibis Lima / Ibis Buenos Aires, Mercure Sao Paulo Jardins, ….). So it is working all around the world, except in the Novotel Santos Dumont. I kindly would like to ask you to look into that matter and confirm, if this problem can be resolved? I am planning to stay Saturday to Monday next week in your hotel again, but would need your confirmation before executing the booking. I look forward to hear from you. Best regards, Eric Z.

« Short presentation of latest software - very successful »

Very good. The Novotel staff were very efficient, esecially the people who deal with events. The room size was perfect and they had optional items like a very big projector screen which made things much easier for me to organize. It was also very easy to finalize the room layout, seating arrangements, etc.

We had 3 rooms at Novotel. All 3 rooms had problems with the AC. All 3 rooms had to be changed making it highly inconvenient for us. also there were plumbing issues in the WC. Cannot agree to such incompetence in service from Novotel

The stay was just as expected. [There is a possibility that my credit card was somehow cloned here. An attempted fraud took place at midnight at an ATM in Rio within half an hour of checking in.]

« Not worth to be a 4 Star Novotel. No value for price »

In General the stay was ok. But price much to high for the overall services. Staff did not speak proper English. In the restaurant they did not speak English at all. The room was clean, but would need some renovation. The shower was not working properly.

My Accor membership is 30…8974 I booked the hotel for the wrong date (for 28/10/2017 to 29/10/2017) when it should have been 28/11/2017 to 29/11/2017. We were wondering if you all would be kind enough to change the booking to 28/11/2017 to 29/11/2017 at no additional charges? Looking forward to hearing back.

« Repeat Stay at The Novotel Dumont in Rio de Janeiro »

This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel and will plan to stay again on my next trip to Rio. It is a wonderful place and close to the business headquarters that I visit. The restaurant is excellent for all meals with buffets available for both breakfast and lunch. The housekeeping staff keep the rooms immaculately clean and well maintained.
