« Not as good as expected. For a hotel of these standards and rates I would have expected more. »

My experience was very poor. People are nice but luck of customer focus. Rooms were reasonable but with luck of maintenance. The overall experience was certainly not as expected, specially around food. This simply terrible... For a hotel of this category and the prices you manage I would have expected much more and higher standards. Including the customer experience. When I complaint at the front desk the employee was not able to articulate an appropriate answer and apologized himself. I would have expected an empowerment to allow him make a decision and apply some discount for the unacceptable experience. Next time we would not think of Sofitel as our first option to stay.

« Beautiful place »

Check in went smooth, room was very comfortable though hot. A/C not working properly and despite calling maintenance, the room never was cool. The hotel is lovely, great place for relaxing, many activities available. The only thing I consider needs serious improvement is the amount of staff at pool bar and restaurant. Extremely slow service. We waited 1 Hour for our lunch which seemed 2 because our hungry kids kept claiming their meal! Then we went to the restaurant for tea time and after waiting 45 min for our order to come, we were missing a tea with milk. We had to claim it twice and it finally arrived 1,30 hour after we first sat down! It’s a pity for these gaps in staffing and customer service devalue the hotel.

« Bad Experience »

Despite the fact that installations are quite gorgeous, time is impacting in facilities not well maintained. Room smells smooky and dirty floor. Tennis courts in very bad conditions. Outside pool extemely cold and inside/outside heated pool extremely dirty (there was now one mapping floors nor besides the pool nor in men’s room). Special mention was the hour that we had to wait to complete a couple ofbar poolside orders and disrepectful manners of bartenders when I asked for those orders. Quite bad experience!

« Great 2 day escape in beautiful environment »

It was my 40th birthday, a very special day to celebrate. I chose the best hotel for a 2 day vacation. My overall experience was definitley good, I had a lovely time, however I strongly suggest the hotel works on some perception issues, which are not a throwback at all but would definitley cause greater positive impact if addressed. As an architect and specialist in neuromarketing I might have my senses a sharper than most, and cannot get out of my proffesional mindset. My suggestions? Have a Scene set person arrange the room minimizing its flaws: -Turn around the lamp with the damaged side so that it is not the side you see when entering the room. It is not an object one would manipulate so turning it aronun makes the job to not seeing the damaged side. -Get a black marker and go over worn out edges on wood doors (you see the light wood underneath and having it exposed gives the sense that mainenance could be better than it is) -The backbed had a hole where you could see the orange foam underneath. Either painting it with white paint, covering it with a room guide or anything else would have avoided the eye to settle in the colour contrast the itched bedhead had. -SMELL!!! On thursday morning the smell in the restrooms at lobby was hideous, and seemed to be because of pipings, not because of someone not feeling well there :) The products with which floors are cleaned, leave a bad smell in the room (conference room nest to the pool) I understand the surface to clean is huge, but there should be another product that doesnt leave that smell. Smell is a memory shortcut (smell for example hawaiian tropic and you will be instantly transported to a sunny beach, try it, seriously. Or even with food) Having a bad smell associated with a brand or places is definitley NOT a good thing to happen. You dont want your brand to smell bad. -In this sense you should actually try to bring a nice smell in rooms and lobby to get the exact opposite effect as described above, associating the brand with relaxed good sensations. A cheap and effective trick? You have eucaliptus outside the hotel, put some leaves in boiling water and you´ll have a natural scented wooden aroma. -A good one? It was a GREAT somatic marker to have a cake in my room with a candle the day of my brithday. It was actually the only cake I had this year and that definitley made a positive statement. -Another good one? Late check out was unavailable because hotel was fully booked. Even though I din´t buy the acting of checking the system to see available rooms (you don need to do that if fully booked, you already know that even before I ask) I did appreciate you giving me the option of leaving my bags and using the pool for a few more couple of hours. -One more thing: Coffe shoul be of better brand at breakfast. I didnt know I had the option of an expresso till I heard the guy next to me. El bohio is a conference room coffee, not a 5 star hotel coffee. Lavazza, Illy, Nespresso, Cabrales top line, or even single origin colombian coffee would do a great job. Any other thing I can help with I can help kindly re…

« Nice hotel with a very poor service »

Service is very poor; ej restaurant orders come late and wrong, low quality food; tennis courts are in very bad conditions; kids playroom not opening at 4pm as indicated, and also in poor conditions (ping pong table broken). At check out I was charged IVA when I shouldn't have been charged since I am not an argentine resident, it took 45 min to reimburse me. This hotel will end up in very poor conditions unless investment in made in maintenance and personal training,

The hotel grounds are in great shape, but the rooms are not very well maintained and don't even have tea or coffee for guest. The couches that are in the balcony area are very uncomfortable and don't even have pillows to seat

The only thing i would offset the great experience is that the water taken from the minibar was charged when later a free one was delivered. so it was a question of timing... maybe next time, during the check-in, this should be informed in order to avoid feeling to paid for something unnecessary. or at least if the person only took a water from the minibar, this should not be charged as this is part of a primary need then, it was our 11th Wedding anniversary and we choose this hotel. We received a bottle of campaign as part of courtesy of the hotel. Highly appreciated.

With my family I have indulged us all staying a few nights at the hotel at least once a year for the last 4 years. Our only observation is that through the years we noticed a decline in the quality and variety of the food offering in the dinner buffet.
