Dear Sir / Madam I am writing you to give you my feedback about the very contrasted stay I had in the Sofitel Cardalas la Reserva with check in the Monday 14th of January 2019 and check out the Saturday 19th of January 2019. The location was great, the overall accommodation was good and staff was nice. However, we had a couple of bad experiences as well. The first bad experience happened to my wife. She booked a spa treatment the Tuesday afternoon, and planned her routine so she could use the facilities after, in the evening as it is more beneficial. But as she was about to go the sauna at 18h15, she has been denied its use because of the whole bunch of soccer players using all the facilities from 18h30 onwards. The problem is that NO ONE of the staff told her that she would not be able to use the facilities after a certain time, despite she spoke to a couple of people for spa information and spa booking, etc. So her spa beauty routine has been shorten by half without warning. And she did not want to go back, trying to fit her routine with half of the facilities not available due to the soccer players around in the spa and gym area during the week of our stay. She especially joined me as I was in business trip to enjoy some pampering. To be honest, this part is a failure and a costly failure for me (a plane ticket direct Paris - Buenos Aires is expensive !) The second bad experience is quite disgusting as the Wednesday night, coming back in the room after dinner, we found a whole colony of cockroaches in the bathroom with some massive ones. We actually already found one big cockroach on the pillow of the bed the night before (picture upon request). After I informed the desk the first time, I have been told that it is just one and it was because of the humidity. The manager on duty should have moved us in a different room then. It would have saved us from the disgusting encounter the following night. Fortunately, the manager on duty the second night we found the bunch of bugs was quick to react and moved us immediately in an other room, at 1am ! Far from ideal to rest between 2 days of work for me. Unfortunately this room was really not up to the standard of our initial room, and not up to the standard of a Sofitel : phone out of order, TV broken, bathroom blind blocked open so no privacy... After complaining we have eventually been moved to a junior suite, which we really appreciated, until we realized that the AC was broke jammed on ultra cool air which was may too much incofortable, and again phone wire broken. Fortunately the technician managed to fix the AC quickly. Meanwhile I am try to work during days, in business meetings, while my wife is texting all those issues with the rooms and the move out and in and broken amenities. I could not focus on my job, and my wife could not rest and enjoy her stay, trying to explain what is going on to some staffs who barely speak english. I have been quite disappointed to see that good english speaking staff was the exception. Finally, on a positive we would like to mention Franco and Tomas who have been extremelly helpfull during our stay. They made sure that my wife had the special food that her gluten free dairy free diet requires. They have been very patient and so kind with us. They are clearly among your top employees and deserve a special attention. Unfortunately, the day they were not working, or we could not ask them to help us, my wife has been contaminated at breakfast (a tiny crumb of bread is enough) and her usual symptoms of being glutened kept her down most of the day. So, for my wife, despite the very enjoyable environment of the hotel, and the good comfort of the room and bathroom, she had her spa day ruined, another day ruined by food contamination and a third day has been occupied by moving out and moving in due to bugs in initial rooms. As you can understand, I am not happy at all that I had spent a lot money for my wife's plane ticket for her to rest and relax and eventually having half of her stay completely spoiled. Our stay was certainly not at the level of our expectation for a 5 star hotel Sofitel. Therefore, I am sure that you will have a kind commercial gesture to compensate those very poor experiences. Overall, the hotel was fantastic, but service was lacking everywhere. - There is no online booking, which made the process a multi-day, frustrating experience. The staff wasn't able to provide rates and availability over the phone when calling the reservation number, took hours to email them (with incomplete information) and was then unresponsive. By the time someone provided the information during the hours they were able to book rooms, some of them weren't available anymore. Not having online booking and requesting credit card numbers via email in 2019 is pretty embarrassing :) - The hotel's main restaurant at the lobby was poorly managed. It took them 45+ minutes to serve us a cup of coffee and a sandwich, there were only 4 tables on a Friday afternoon. - Breakfast was fairly basic for a 5-star hotel, coffee isn't self-serve and it takes quite a bit of effort to get the staff's attention for them to serve you coffee. We had finished eating both times by the time we managed to get the staff's attention. - The room was only partially cleaned, the bed was made but cups and glasses were all left dirty and coffee and tea wasn't replenished. There were details everywhere that were unexpected for a hotel of this category. The stay, however, was mostly enjoyable and relaxing, the poor service just made it feel like it was overpriced for what it delivered.

Reservations were made accordingly to what we asked for. The reception at the check in was very friendly and with no delays. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Our tanks for the Champagne Bottle because of our 50. Marriage Anniversary. Very good attention at the Bar and in the Dinning Room. The pools, the Kid Club, Kayaks and all the services we found at the Hotel, were simply superb!!

It was amazing. The only weird thing was the shower regulator, that was difficult to understand (and I have been in many hotels). I ended up having a not pleasant shower because i couldn't regulate the temprature.

We were @ the Sofitel Los Cardales 3 days and 2 nights starting last friday nov 30th with 2 rooms to celebrate my parents anniversary. We've previously stayed there and several other Sofitels and have a pretty good idea of what the experience should be. There were many elements that were outstanding (several of the meals we had, some interactions with the staff, the overall setting/property) but there were also several that stood out as tremendously underwhelming and those I'll describe below. 1. Upon entering our room we were shocked at the completely lackluster level of cleanliness, lack of maintenance and just overall sloppiness. Spider webs, hairs visible in bathroom, large dead bug next to toilet, bed skirt uneven, dust everywhere, tremendously marked floor with shoe prints, USB plugs not working and a 32" LCD from literally 10 years ago (when the hotel opened). When we called the front desk and asked if housekeeping could clean the room, 2 employees promptly but had a very dismissive attidude and seemed to imply we were being difficult and nit-picky. 2. Lunch friday 30th was a horrible experience. We were seated and it took 13 minutes to get a menu and 70 minutes to get our order consisting of salads, pasta and sandwiches. Every rule of restaurant service was broken - dishes came out one at a time, had to ask for ice literally 4 times and it took 20 minutes, the servings were VERY lacklusted in taste and quite small portions. It appeared you were understaffed and many people were complaining. 3. On sat. we got stuck in an elevator and the alarm button didn't work. The elevator door wasn't opening at the floor we choose and we were inside of 3 minutes and as the alarm button didn't work we had to wait until a staff member walked by and noticed us banging as the elevator is glass. She went to get another staff member who arrived just as the doors magically opened. My wife was quite shook up and as we got off the elevator there was not even so much as a "We're very sorry that happened" comment. 4. On Sat Dec 1st there was a candel lighting ceremony that was scheduled to start at 7pm, but didn't start til 7:36pm. We planned out evening to attend and found it very disrespectful of guests time to be so delayed and again, not a word of appology. 5. One evening it was raining quite hard and walking to our room after dinner there were 2 large puddles in the hallway where the roof was leaking. One of them a leak that was touching a light fixture. Again, we had a few very nice meals in the restaurant (we had 5 or 6 people on the property) which were at the level we'd expect. The property is beautiful overall, but seems to have a general lack of maintenance as its showing its age at 10 years. The staff at the kids club was exceptional and our 6 year old son really enjoyed himself there. Kuddos with that.

We had a wonderful weekend, the staff was extremely gentle, food was excellent at Le Lac but in suite 521 the bathroom needs refurbishment as well as the curtains .When we mentioned this to the concierge we were offered either another room or a late check out on Sunday.We had a great stay!!

It has the physical structure and decoration of a 5 star hotel, with prices that match it, 1000 EUR for 2 nights. But that's where the similarities end. The service is awful, comparable to that of an extended stay or motel 6. It is the kingdom of made up rules and policies that frustrates guests little by little. It starts at the entrance: the short staffed guard post takes 15 to 20 minutes to handle a couple of cars waiting to get in. At the reception and check in, despite having done everything online, following the link sent, still had to queue and go through their substantial red tape again. They still charge VAT from foreigners, unless you comply to their made rules that involve showing passports with appropriate stamps for the children staying with their parents. Despite having made a reservation for 2 adults and 1 kid, there was no 3rd bed in the room and they had to be called 3 times to bring us one. They never brought a set of towels for the 3rd guest during the 2 nights stay, despite numerous requests. The swimming pool is great, but the bar service is the worst I experienced so far. The hotel was less than 50% occupied, but it would take them 45 to 90 minutes to bring you a beer or soda can. I saw other guests arguing at the bar and refusing to leave until they set their drinks on a tray, which the guest had carried herself. They would stop serving the very limited food menu at 5PM, despite dinner only starting at 8PM. The towels available were insufficient for the number of guests and most were stained. Service at the restaurant la butaca was good and professional and the food was good, but not exceptional. The hotel claims to have bikes available, but it is only to take part in guided tours, as if guests were a bunch of 5 years old kids. Room service left the bottles of soda with the caps on and there was no bottle opener in the room. We had to call them back to explain that we were planning to actually drink the beverages we ordered with the food. I strongly advise the senior managers of this hotel to take an internship in the four seasons or Intercontinental, maybe they will learn something about hospitality and professional services. It is a disgrace that the Accor Group allows this property to use the name Sofitel.

Very nice hotel with an accommodating staff. Check-in was OK; however, our rooms were not available at the promised time. We had just arrived from the US and were interested in getting into our rooms and freshening up. It worked out as we waited in the bar and enjoyed ourselves. Check out was very slow. I know this is sometimes true for international guests, but this seemed slower than necessary.

Excellent service but I was in a bungalow number 2 and when I took a shower all bathroom was with water into floor as the shower cabin was not good

« I felt very welcome but some hotel amenties were below my expectations. »

As a whole I can say it was a good experience, I did not have the change to use all the services except my room, the restaurant and the Louis Pasteur meeting room. During 2 of my 4 days stay the breakfast was not ready when our 5 member group arrived at 7:15 am (Maybe it was too early for the hotel). At lunch time I ask for a lemonade and it never arrived, another day I was offered to have a coffee and again it did not arrive. Our meeting was scheduled at 8:00 am sharp and the video beam was not properly set. I really think there are some areas for your improvement.
