Great location - easing parking next door to the hotel. Great staff at reception and easy check out, nice clean modern large room, great breakfast and room service. The settee bed was not made up when we arrived and it took 4 calls and 4 hours to have it made up.

We spent two nights at the Novotel with our two young grandchildren. They enjoyed the swimming pool and the interactive game which was in view of the dining area where we could watch them play safely. The hotel is very central for both shops and restaurants. Hotel room spacious and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Given the wrong type of room. Paid for a better room (upfront) than was given and still waiting my refund. The room was too hot even with air conditioning on. The fire alarm went off 1 night for about t seconds don't know why , then couldn't sleep. Then a full hotel evacuation the following night so again no sleep. Very good location though.

Pretty negative. Staff a bit disinterested. Whole stay affected by fire alarm which showed a complete lack of operational process. If there had been a fire it would have been complete turmoil.

Hotel, facilities, service and location all good. Breakfast area could do with being a little bigger as it's a bit cramped when busy. Stayed for 2 nights and woken both nights fire alarm going off, one of which everyone had to leave hotel. Aside from fire alarm would recommend

« Good price, but not worth the inconveniences. »

Stayed for two nights with the family. Room was fine. Decor reasonable. Breakfast very good. Pool & gym a worthwhile addition. It would have been worth the price had it not been for: - sofa bed had no bedding even though the room was booked as 2+1 (called reception who apologised and said it would be dropped off straight away, it arrived 3 1/2 hours later) starters not arriving before the main meals (staff very apologetic and were cancelled, rest of meal was fine) - room door did not lock on leaving the room meaning that we had to get reception to investigate (you need to slam it, we will get maintenance to look at it in the morning, still needed slamming when we left 2 days later - fire alarm at 22:30 on first night (staff apologised to everyone gathered in reception, explaining someone had been smoking in a room on the 9th floor) - fire alarm at 23:40 on second night (staff apologised to everyone gathered in reception, explaining someone had been smoking in a room on the 9th floor) The staff on the 2nd night knew nothing of the fire alarm on the 1st night, so I can only assume that nothing was done to challenge the occupants of the 9th floor room OR deal with a fire alarm fault on the system on the 9th floor. No offer of compensation was made for the troubles we experienced. We won't be coming back and will avoid Novotel in future.

« Noisy and lacking organisation expected of such a well.established chain »

Noisy room despite staying on 6th floor I could hear the late evening shenanigans outside. Fire alarm was dealt with very poorly. Understaffed and lacking direction in this scenario. The guests were having to make suggestions to your staff of how to react. Swimming pool had very high chlorine level which created a chest problem for my 4 yr old. Breakfast was too busy...massive queues.

Our stay was very pleasant. I had booked 11 February for 1 night and prepaid on 24 January. Yesterday I received an email invoice for £288 saying ! had stayed until Friday 16 February. I rang the hotel and was told at first I must have stayed there as it was on there system. Only after getting very upset did they decide to look into it. I rang back with the booking reference and was told it was a Glitch in the system. I have now received an email with an apology and an explanation which makes no sense! Not a pleasant experience.

Great stay. Friendly staff, child friendly, great breakfast. However, family room was far too small. We could barely move with 2 children 13-15yrs. Also separate toilet to shower room was difficult! Free parking should be offered...

a very early wakeup from a lorry outside with engine constantly runing and a very loud pumping for a prolonged period. Came to relax from a busy work/home life, not the case! Breakfast experience was appaling! We were immediately taken to our table which not cleared after previous occupants and filthy dirty! We were standing in the middle of a busy area watching and waiting for what felt like a very long time. Why not ask us to wait at service desk until a table was ready? This would save our and other diners embarrassment. What really annoyed me was that there was a clean, serviced table few seats away and another by reception, why we were not taken there is beyond me. We did ask if we could have one of those tables but the rude, stern looking “lady” that took us to the dirty unmade table said “no, no this is yours”!!! Have stayed with you a number of times, will think long and hard before returning. A really disappointing visit.

Room was comfortable and clean but was not set up as a family room as we had booked. We had to ask twice for the bed to be made up - eventually sorted at 8pm (first asked reception at 4 pm).

« Wonderful stay. Couldn't have asked for more »

Reception was clean and welcoming, the check in desk was busy and they were struggling training new staff and trying to allocate rooms but did their best to get things sorted as quickly as possible. That's life. Room was clean and large. Breakfast was delicious and surprisingly hot for a buffet, freshly topped up. Perfect.

« Central Location Very pleasant staff »

The hotel was clean and ideal for our stay in central Liverpool the staff were extremely helpful however seemed to be understaffed in reception at times had to queue for 10 minutes some people more. Breakfast I didnt book but the queues waiting in reception were rather long so maybe people should be given a slot not ideal coming down to reception and have crowds waiting to eat. Also key cards were a issue had to go and get them re-done several times which is quite annoying when you get up to the 5th floor and the key card fails again and you have to go back down. The swimming pool says heated pool the pool was cold on day 1 and it was freezing on day 2 of our stay and I booked this hotel for the heated pool but couldnt use it as I have a condition and cannot get in cold water and staff need to inform visitors that if you dont use the swimming pool card to gain access within 10 minutes it stops working and you have to go and queue again at reception for another one. I know it sounds like im complaining but it was still a pleasant stay and as I said all staff reception, cleaning etc were very nice and did there very best.

Fantastic location for shops, restaurants and bars. Short walk to Lime Street station too. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and regularly refreshed. The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable.

« A lovely stay in the heart of Liverpool. »

As a family of 4 with 2 young children we had a lovely very stay. It was my daughters birthday and we had balloons and some birthday banners in our room as well as drinks vouchers for a welcome drink for her birthday, which was a lovely touch. All staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good and plentiful. Lovely pool which was open all day for children too, which suited us well. Spacious rooms, with everything you need including a nice coffee machine. There was only one thing that disturbed us was during our second night stay there was a type of knocking/banging noise that seemed to go on and off all night, which disturbed us a little and it wasn’t there the first night. Otherwise, a lovely stay in a great location. Thank you.
