« Very comfortable with highly competent and friendly staff »

Lovely well-equipped, spacious room with superb view. Remarkably quiet; no noise from adjoining rooms, corridor or outside. Excellent breakfast buffet with wide choice although found the bacon rather leathery.

I always try and stay at Novotel hanover street as it's a very nice hotel with swimming pool, friendly and helpful staff and centrally located as well. My preference at staying at you hotels is a near to top floor of hotel. On this occasion I was given a 4th floor room, but the hotel has 11 floors.

Our third stay at hotel, we obviously enjoy the place, but it's the staff, in every area of the hotel, they are all fabulous, always smiling, with time to speak, even on a busy Sunday morning ! We like the food, so much choice at breakfast and during the day, special attention is always given to our daughter, which she loves, It's a great place to meet up with friends,the pool is a great bonus. Congratulations to all the staff for a job well done

We had a great leisure break in this fab city centre hotel. Great pool, superbly friendly and helpful staff (particularly the bar) - perfect location, great breakfast and loved playing some afternoon pool with my son while we watched the rugby.

Haven’t stayed at the hotel for a couple of years and the refurbishment was very impressive. Bereakfast was to a high standard as usual. Staff very helpful. Left a bag in the room - reception staff were extremely helpful when I telephoned regatding this on my return home

« Mixed, lots of positive, but quite a few negatives as well »

The positives were that the bedrooms were all fit for purpose and a pleasant surprise, much better than other similar priced ones I have seen (apart from the hairdryer not working and it taking a day for this to be rectified), it was comfortable and a good size and modern. The other positives were the breakfast itself and the breakfast and bar area, these were modern, smart and in-keeping with a trendy city hotel. The gym was also pretty good, it was functional and clean, though the phone in there didn't work, which was a problem as the lockers were broke and it said contact reception through that phone. The negatives were that at times some of the staff could have been a little more useful and helpful, there were a few issues such as the hair dryer incident which took awhile to resolve. The lockers in the pool area were very bad, we got our stuff locked in there and couldn't unlock it, about four other people had this problem and it took quite awhile for someone to sort this. The pool was also quite disappointing as it was unclean with pieces of rubbish everywhere, this didn't create a good impression for me and my girlfriend.

Great city centre location and a lot of effort into decorating the public areas. Free small toy for my daughter on arrival was a nice gesture. Front desk staff helpful and well trained but lacking in number - queues for the desk were a frequent feature of our stay, the foyer often being crowded with many guests waiting for the desk. Bedroom was clean and beds comfortable but design was very functional and is typical of novotel - corporate and devoid of character. Bathroom design was bizzare and not really functional. Basement pool was nice but changing rooms flooded and not big enough at peak times (half term holiday). Breakfast offering satisfactory for choice and quality but nothing special for a chain hotel. Great price but overall a mediocre experience.

Excellent breakfast, lovely room but the sofa bed that was provided for 2 children to sleep in was inadequate. I complained about this as soon as we got there and was told that unfortunately that’s all they had. If I had been told on the website that this was a small sofa bed then I would have chosen to stay elsewhere.

We received a free upgrade due to our last stay not being great. During our stay this time we were more than happy with our room. The usual standard we are used to at the Novotel. Breakfast was lovely and staff were helpful.

« The hotel was ok. But was disapointed with the new industrial decco, the breakfast and comfort of bed. »

We had stayed in the hotel before, and happy with the service. This time we were happy with the service, but the new decco was a big disapointment. Cold solid metal seats, grey furniture and rough tables. The beds was not as comfortable as we expected. And at that price we would question if we would stay again.

Found sleeping on Eleventh floor very warm. The air conditioning was set to 10 and the fan at 3 all day but still overly warm. Have stayed on the Fifth floor frequently and this did not happen!
