Liked the room. Breakfast was good. The leisure pool and gym were excellent, small but well kept and nicely laid out. There was a fault with the door keys when we arrived but staff did their very best to ensure we got in our room without delays. The only issue we had was not necessarily with the hotel but the booking options. I booked dinner bed and breakfast for one of the nights we stayed as we travelled down on Sunday and didn't know what time we would arrive. However the dinner option was simply to spend up the amount paid in their dinning room - if I'd known this I wouldn't have bothered. This didn't spoil our visit however and I'd use Novotel again.

Overall stay was good. Only negatives were very noisy room due to external hotel signage banging against the outside wall (I was in room 608) and housekeeping didn’t tidy our room properly on the Saturday (dirty cups left and no replacement toilet roll!) but everything else was as good as always as I think this is our 5th or 6th stay in this hotel.

We really enjoyed the hotel was my son birthday and I was happy with all the surprise especially the first day I arrived I met the lady next to the room with a cake and the was another one for my son birthday which happened when I and son we went together out and when we returned we found a surprise for the birthday on the ta tables. Also the staff all are very kind and friendly .

My wife booked this for a suprise 40th birthday treat for me. On arrival there was a fault with the key card system so had to wait for a member of staff to take us to the room which at times took awhile. At no point were we given anything to show what room we were in and anyone could have been let into the room if they came in from off the street and gave a random number. With this my wife and young daughter felt very uneasy about leaving anything in the room or in fact staying incase anyone came in. Also we went down to the pool and both showers were out of order so we had to get all dressed to go back to the room to shower. What was suppost to be a nice relaxing weekend away turned into a bit of a nightmare to be honest. We have stayed in Novotels in the past and always had really good experiences. Bathroom floor tiles broke and sharp mouldy shower and when we went back to the room at night it smelt of poo and the noise from outside was horendous. Staff excellent in every way. The only letdown was two issues with the room 300. A. the bathroom does not have heating so it is much colder than the rest of the room. B. We could not find out how to turn of the lights other than get out of bed, walk all the way to the door and turn of all lights and crawl in the dark all the way back. We could not figure it out! The overall experience was completely spoiled by not being able to get into our room for the whole stay. The hotel is lovely, the bar is great, the staff are amazing. So normally a nailed on 8 or 9. Unfortunately for the whole of our stay the key machine was out of order meaning that we needed an escort from a staff member to get into the lift and or room. That could only be done when ther were 2 members of staff at the reception, so sometime there was a lot of hanging round outside lifts waiting for staff members to get back to reception. For the money we paid and the standard expected from Novotel, not being able to offer a guest a key is disgraceful. I can understand the key machine being out for an hour or two, or at a push a whole evening, but come on, two days ? For this inconvenience we were not even offered a free drink at the bar.

Was greeted with finding out that non of the keys for the room are working, however they had plenty of staff on hand to let you in your room, we was never left waiting round and it became a nice thing as the staff were very friendly.

It was very comfortable and a lovely room .Nice attentive staff. The key card system wasn't working during our stay although staff took us to our room each time. Breakfast was good. There was a coffee machine in the room . Was disappointed as there was no coffee pods. I asked housekeeping but unfortunately there was none. There was also no robes either. This didn't bother us. But it was advertised as an executive room and cost a lot more.

Arrived before check in time so left luggage however on return luggage wasn’t in the luggage room. Took staff over 10 mins to locate in a back office. No reception. I would prefer a traditional reception as this is much more professional and doesn’t look like your staff are just hanging around chatting which they were at times or no one available at all. What made it even more frustrating was no key card facility working so all guests had to be escorted to rooms every time they left. Must of been a nightmare for the staff on duty. Next to the swimming pool. Very nice facility and towels provided but unfortunately all the showers were out of order. The bedroom was very spacious and apart from the stained spare pillows was clean. It was however very hot (no heating on) and only 2 teabags milk and coffee provided. Luckily chambermaid was on our floor and happy to give us more. Breakfast was excellent and service by staff was very good. Overall very happy and would stay again. Next time I hope the keys are working! Thanks
