Hotel overall good, clean condition. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast quality and choice. Family room quality poor- room for 2 adults and 2 children too small. Sofa bed only big enough for 2 very small children to share. Mine are 8 and 11 and was not big enough. Also room was not prepared for 4 people- only towels for 3, cups and refreshments for 2. Toiletries missing. Staff helpful in providing a fold out bed which improved sleeping arrangements but room so small left no floor space to fit it in. Also restocked up with towels etc. Prefer hand washing sink in toilet- having to use toilet then open 2 doors to access sink in bathroom area not hygienic.

After a small hiccup at reception we asked another receptionist some questions and were able to check in early before we left for the festival we were attending. This was so much more relaxing. We really appreciated the upgrade and I had the best nights sleep I can remember in a long time. I've since ordered 2 of your smart pillows. Breakfast times allowed us to relax and take our time, as did the 12noon check out. Some hotels have an earlier checkout which is not so relaxing. Easy check in, staff very pleasant and helpful, bar staff very pleasant. Would have liked a bin in toilet, although there was one in bathroom, also a toilet brush. The toiletries were a bit sparse and a shower cap would have been appreciated. Very good breakfast selection , overall an enjoyable stay, hope to return. Good location

Myself and my partner stayed at Novotel Liverpool for their 40th Birthday. The whole trip was perfect! The staff were lovely and friendly, the room very spacious and extremely clean and the food and cocktails in the bar were to die for!

The hotel is in a great location. Staff are friendly and very efficient. We were disappointed with the evening meals. We had pre-booked and pre-paid for an evening meal for the three nights of our stay. However the choice was limited and not changed during our stay, we were given an allowance towards the main menu but if we had been told the choice was going to be so limited we would not have taken the option of including dinner. We were also disappointed with the quality of the meals.

I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel, I was given a really nice room, an upgrade, which I thought was amazing. The ambience of the dining area / bar was perfect. The breakfast was excellent, good quality and a very good range to choose from. The reception staff were very helpful and polite, I don't know her name, but a lady with long dark hair tied back on reception was particularly helpful to us all, even spotting that I had left my poster for conference at reception and she retrieved it and returned it to me. Please can you thank her for me and the excellence service we had.

« An apparent shortage of staff led to some issues both in our room and in the restaurant. »

On check in we were originally allocated to a room that was obviously meant for someone else as there were balloons, a birthday card and a voucher for a free drink in the bar. Brought this to the attention of reception who allocated us a new room. New room had a broken floor tile in bathroom and several floor tiles were loose, probably as a result a constant leak from the shower screen. This was reported and seen by someone from maintenance but didn’t solve problem . Our room was missed by chambermaid on the first day. Reported to reception and room made up when we returned after dinner. On the second morning there was obviously some staffing issues in the restaurant as tables hadn’t been cleared, coffee machine not working (no water in tank and pod tray full) buffet not topped up. Thee overall impression was that there was a shortage of staff and that there were some staff training issues.

« Fine, except ROCK-HARD beds. »

Booking in and out was very easy; room was in a satisfactory location; staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed dinner and breakfast, not cheap - but food was good with plenty of choice. Only disappointment was the beds, after a tiring day sight-seeing, all we wanted was a good nights restful sleep. However the beds in room 612 (Liverpool central) were harder than sleeping on the floor - we are not used to complaining, but I wouldn't book here again if this is what is offered as I do not think my hip bones have recovered yet! Sadly not the best experience on this occasion.

With regards to the product (mattresses), which is standardised for all the Novotels, we are taking a note of guests preferences and updating our product accordingly, however pretty much of our guests love our beds and we have mostly positive feedback about those. I completely understand that you are not fond of our beds and I wish you to find a chain of hotels that would meet your wishes, alternatively we are happy to place duvets under the sheets to make it soft for your next visit should you chose to stay with us again and let us serve you better in the near future.
