« Not quite... »

Whilst the location and price are extremely appealing the overall cleanliness was terrible. Room size was as expected and service was good for budget accommodation, would have had no issues if the room was clean. Mould found in bathroom and woke up to a few cockroaches in the cutlery draw... not as desired.

« Value for money but tiny tiny tiny! »

It was just for one night, there were two of us in twin beds, but even the beds were tiny, not your normal 36inch single bed but a narrow 30 inches, however mattress was comfortable. Reasonably clean, but as mentioned by others the bathroom was suffering from water damage to the door, and when showering, despite the curtain. water went absolutely everywhere. A few cockroaches were evident in the kitchenette when I turned on the light in the night. Location was absolutely central to everything, and we weren't disturbed by noise after 10pm. Probably wouldn't stay again. There are much better hotels a little further away for slightly more money.

« Ibis auckland central »

Rooms quiet small but does the job. Need to work on air conditioning as they very stuffy trying to sleep. Bit noisey in mornings. When first got there lady stuffed up room number was pretty embarrassing knocking on another guests room. Felt as though she was blaming us abit otherwise good. Good location good for small budget

« Like being in a nightclub »

The room was very small but adequate. We were situated in a room that backed onto a bar/night club, the music and especially the bass was so so loud, even ear plugs didn’t help. To make matters worse, at 2am, the bar decides to empty boxes of empty bottles into bottle banks, which was really noisy. Bathroom was also tiny. Great if you’re there for a night out and coming in late. If it’s an early night you’re after, with an early start, book somewhere else.

« Hotel stay on 1st and 2nd March 2018 »

Hotel location, cleanliness of room and professional attitude of staff are good. Rooms are small but manage to cram in most facilities required by a guest, but lack of air conitioning especially in a high rise hotel made the stay uncomfortable. Opening a window lets in much noise from external streets - henche hotel providing ear plugs in hotel room. Night of 02nd March very uncomfortable due to external very loud music noise. Even with all windows closed - ear plugs in and blanket over head could not get to sleep. Noise was so loud that resonant vibrations, were being set up in Hotel room until well past 02.00 am on 3rd March.

« A hotel in the heart of the city »

the hotel is located in the heart of the city providing access to almost anything within walking distance. Some road works going on nearby making access a bit difficult by car but this is temporary. Rooms are compact and breakfast is basic - perfect for the budget traveler.

« Unable to Sleep »

No Air Conditioning - had to sleep with Balcony door open to get some air flow and cool the place down because room was very hot. Bed was too short. Had to try and sleep with legs hanging over the end of the bed. Very expensive for room type.

« 2 nights in auckland »

Small rooms!! No AC or ceiling fan. Had to leave patio door open for air. Back alley backs on to bars and garbage collections. Very noisy. Smallest 2 twin room I have ever stayed in. Great beds and linens though! Great location. Budget best describes this hotel.

« Noisy and shabby »

I spent 2 nights there and was glad to leave. The hotel is opposite a noisy building site, and my room was close to the noise of a late night bar. My room was small and there was a cockroach in the kitchen area. Disinterested staff and a poor hotel. On the plus side, the hotel is located centrally.

« Ibis Budget Auckland »

The bathroom was run down and unpleasant, the linoleum was peeling from the wall and there was a smell of damp The toilet got soaked by the shower and the water pooled under the toilet after the shower was used. The TV in the room did not work, it appeared that it was not connected to anything. The pillows extremely uncomfortable.

« Good spot »

The hotel was in an excellent location. The first few days the second elevator was not working so that was a pain. Staff was very good with any needs. Did not realize- no air conditioning in the room. This may not usually be needed in Auckland but as one woman I met said, ''This has been the hottest January on record.'' The staff did provide me with a fan and that was perfect for me. I normally do not care for air conditioning, but it does help provide 'white noise' when in the city. Would try again if ever in town.

« Central City on a Budget »

Spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and beautiful linen. Perfect location just off Queen St. Would stay there again - smallish room but great value. Quite warm but as we were on 17th floor got a lovely through breeze leaving our balcony door ooen

« Uncomfortable Stay »

Positive: People working the front desk were nice and helpful Negative: Rooms were not clean. Blanket had stains, the carpeted floor was dirty (despite the room service), the space to hang things was too high on the wall (had to request chair to reach it), too much noise, had to change rooms - the room I got changed into didn't have functioning wifi so had to change rooms again, one of the elevators wasn't working If you stay here ask for the rooms that are higher up. The lower ones look nothing like the picture and are not very nice, the ones higher in the building actually look like the picture. Personally, I would not stay there again.

« Convenient and Clean »

i would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Auckland. The rooms are super small so you wouldn't want to be spending too much time in one. We were there in a heat wave and would have loved air conditioning. We had to keep the door slightly open for air and the noise from outside was quite loud. But the location is excellent and the desk staff were very polite, helpful and informative. The discounted parking and breakfast nearby certainly helped make our stay hassle free.

« Great lodging »

Gréât location, very obliging reception, friendly staff. Everyone who works at this facility is there to serve you and does it well. Luggage storage was a great service. A continental breakfast is available and moderately priced. Great value for the cost.

« Disappointing »

Whilst this is clearly called a budget hotel, $200 a night is at the top end of budget. The room was smaller than I recall Ibis being normally, and there was no cooling provided in the room. In many cases leaving a window or ranch slider open is suitable, but in the middle of Auckland the noise made that a non event. We sweltered instead. Parking was suggested at Wilson's behind the hotel and we had to get our ticket validated. This inferred at the least a discount, but at $45 for overnight I was convinced I had taken out a share in the place. However, the place was clean and tidy and the staff very helpful. The suggested café just up the road offered a discount for guests so some of the disappointment was lightened.

« a nice stay »

The hotel is tiny but the level is the same as in France if you use the same type of hotel. I'm used more to Novotel and Mercure style but for one night is more than sufficient It was clean and located near the city center

« It's budget alright »

This budget hotel was in a good central spot. We were shocked that our $209 room was absolutely tiny and the only thing that saved it was the tiny balcony. It had a funny smell, the shower went everywhere, it had a small stovetop with no pots, cutlery or crockery. They provided one set of earplugs for a couple - is that one each? For what we paid and got in return, it was a top off! WiFi password was provided, but never hooked up. Will never stay again!

Dear M6592GTlisar, Thank you for your review following your stay with us. I am sorry to read that you didn't feel that you received value for money, and that you had some frustrations. Thank you for bringing these to our attention and providing us with the opportunity to be better in various ways. We certainly have all the pots, pans and cutlery that you require. We are also always most pleased to provide any extra amenities that we already provide in the room such as the ear plugs. I am sorry that both pairs were not there for your arrival. We wish you all the best finding comfort in your travels. Kind regards, Simon

« Good Value for Money »

My son and I stayed for 2 nights while in Auckland for a conference. Small room but adequate and I was aware of that. It was not as noisy as I expected being in the centre of the city. Clean and tidy and staff were very helpful. Thank you

« Shockingly poor service »

I booked a night online and managed to get the wrong ibis. I was flying into Auckland at mid nite and needed a bed close to the airport. I booked and paid online, and within a few hours realised my error. I emailed the ibis Auckland central and explained my mistake, asking them to transfer my booking to the ibis Auckland airport. I received nothing. Not even an acknowledgement. I emailed them a number of times from my holiday destination to try and get this sorted and ended up getting hold of my daughter in NZ who rung up. She was told they could not transfer the booking and that she should book again with the airport ibis, and that it would take a few days to reimburse my credit card. They did say that they were not obligated to give me a refund but they would do it. yeah right! The only correspondence I have got from Auckland central ibis is asking me to stay xthere again. Not likely. If this is the service I get without even staying there....definitely not my kind of place
