The hotel was disgusting - we got into the room and found food wrappers under the bed from the previous guest. There were marks and stains all over the walls and holes in the wall of the toilet cubicle. The room felt generally unclean and the kind of place that you wouldn't want to walk barefoot on the floor. The blind was half hanging off and we spent ten minutes fixing it before we were able to sleep that night. The room smelt so strongly of drains we coughed when we breathed in - we opened the window and sprayed deodorant and settled down in our stained but just about clean sheets. We were woken in the early hours when flights resumed at Heathrow Airport. I got up to shut the window to block out the noise and discovered the window was also broken and now we'd opened it it refused to shut, so I couldn't go back to sleep. We found the source of the drain smell when I went to get in the shower and the smell was so strong I felt physically sick. I know it's Ibis Budget but I do still expect the hotel room to be clean and functional. For £65 it definitely wasn't worth it - next time I'll pay the extra £20-£30 and stay in a hotel where we can actually sleep.

I assure you that the shortfalls in cleanliness you have described are not at all typical. In view of your comments, expected standards have been reiterated to all housekeeping staff also regarding the window blind my maintenance engineer had a look and the blinds are fine so i am sorry if you experience any difficulty. I normally do my booking via booking.com and had never had a problem. I believe the confirmation or reservation of my booking sent to me and the hotel was a mistake My booking was a room for one person for 17 nights starting from the 10th to 27th for one person , for wifi and breakfast which came to a total 813.00 pounds sterling . On the day of my arrival at the hotel I explained to the young woman at the reception that there was a problem with the confirmation or part of it was missing. I believe only part of my reservation was emailed to me and at the hotel . It did not correspond with my booking . It was impossible to make her understand the problem and was told that I was only going to get was on the confirmation sent to the hotel and with no breakfast and I could shout all I want.? And that really hurt because I am not in the habit of shouting and I am used to being respected. At that point some man appeared, not sure who he was , I guess he was some one in charge. He was wearing glasses. And I got no where with him either and the conversation ended up with him telling me that since because I was staying 17 nights he could not give me breakfast. And I told him then he would. At point I had all the intention of sorting this problem there and then. But on reflection I did not do anything because I had come to England all the way from Mauritius for a purpose and I did not want to waste my precious and limited time on begging for food or waste my time on the phone. I have worked very hard all my life in the UK . I am a person of integrity and I have my self respect. I could not believe that I would actually be fighting food. So I left it that . Thank God that I amblessed enough to have had enough money to have been able afford to go outside to have my breakfast. After what happened on my day of arrival I I did feel like having much to do with these two people and nor did they ever talk to me again during my stay. On my way in and out I always saw the man on his computer. Others on their mobile phones,etc. As a matter of fact I observe and see but did not have much to do with the staff. Still I believe that if some one of the staff of the hotel had wanted to help , I could have been done with one phone call away. As I had arrived from Mauritius I had no access to a phone. The only reason I booked for breakfast is that I am a diabetic , I have to have that my medication and food at a certain time every morning. What is one to do, blame myself, the staff of the hotel, the digital system.? All I know is that if it was some one else in my place without enough money to go out and eat. That person would have been left hungry. And no one but no one would has cared. I know the hotel is not a charity. The other problem with my stay at the hotel was the problem was the shower. The shower itself sprouts from wall and the tap for the shower is located in line with the shower on the wall. This means when one gets underneath the shower the tap gets knocked close. Also TO shower it Is impossible to get the water to run at a constant temperature, the water becomes to hot or too cold. Now I resent having to spent my time answering to this survey.

The room was not what was advertised, I checked in at the hotel to be told that only 1 room had been ‘upgraded’ to the room which was presented when booking. I went up to the room where it was filthy, cold and the room resembled more of a prison cell. The receptionist was unhelpful, unprofessional and unempathetic. I checked out immediately.

The hotel and staff were friendly and the reception area was nice. The location is good and accessible - albeit a journey to Central London but this was known beforehand and for the price difference in hotels, worth it. The actual rooms really are basic and I think it should be made clear that the toilet is separate, the shower is literally a door with a shower inside and the basin is within the room - ie. if staying with other guests, you either have to a. get undressed and dressed in the room and hop into shower, b. get undressed and dressed in the shower which presents difficulty or c. get undressed in shower and hop into toilet (which is tiny but dryer than the shower) to get dressed. If there was an actual bathroom I would give a higher rating but this awkward element made the stay more uncomfortable when sharing a room and was unexpected as I have never come across a room like this before.

A pleasant stay at a reasonable price but for three adults it would be preferable to have an extra bed (bunk bed or otherwise) alongside or close by the double bed. Having a bunk bed above the main bed may be fine for a couple with a young child but our daughter is already 40 years plus! Breakfast was adequate and the front desk staff were very helpful.

Very friendly welcome and supportive of needs as customer. Room was clean and a decent size though window was awkward to close. TV was good with range of channels. Wish there were rooms with baths! Bed must’ve been comfy even with one above where I slept as sleep was a sound one. Would’ve had breakfast seeing the range available and people using it if it was a tad cheaper.

The best I have found yet for budget traveling in London. A drawback is that it is quite a Tube ride outside of the center of London, but happily quite near to Heathrow airport for easy access. The minimal airplane noise wasn't a problem
