Very personalised - staff could not have been nicer, Manager - best I've ever met. It was my birthday celebration and felt very spoilt by them. Hotel was lovely and very clean. only one negative - cooked breakfast on offer was not that great. Will definately stay again. Thank you IBIS brighton xx

Arrived in hotel located very close to train station on a busy street. Stepped into a small 'lobby area' with lifts to rooms & bag store. No immediately discernable reception desk and initial impression was of walking into a busy cafe. Not greeted by any staff and when I asked a member of bar staff where check-in was, a person sitting at the bar on a laptop talking on the phone was indicated. When the 'check-in' person had concluded their phone call they were able to attend to us. They were polite, efficient and helpful. The reception area seemed quite busy which may have been exaggerated by the narrow layout of the entrance area. The room was clean, well laid out and had all required facilities. Check out was slightly delayed by how busy the reception was and some confusion who was attending to check-in/out.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good but the menu was somewhat limited. Was surprised that there are no USB charging points in the rooms for I.phones or the like. this meant trying to get charge into 3 devices using just the one international adaptor we had. Television worked very briefly and then lost signal making watching any program almost impossible. Also noted that there are no phones in the rooms and therefore no room service which would make this more of a glorified B&B rather than a hotel. I suppose, for the price, it was reasonable but it could be better.

The room was clean enough and it was nice having a large wet room. The bed was very firm which was not to our liking and there were not any sockets next to the bed for phone charging. I found the breakfast experience very poor. The coffee machine kept blocking - didn't dispense any milk until a staff member intervened (both times) There were only side plates for the food. The tables were left uncleared for ages and on both days we had to ask for cutlery. Not sure if I would stay again to be honest.

Check in was quick and painless, was told where the lift was but no details about breakfast in the morning like you would usually get when pre booking. Room was decent, clean and tidy. Odd design with the bathroom feeling like you’re in a caravan but other than that, was very reasonable. Only thing I would say was bad was the breakfast in the morning. Me and my boyfriend were at the restaurant by 9am and there was absolutely nothing available apart from a few old pieces of bacon, sausages and odd ends of scrambled eggs and beans. I feel this could’ve been a lot better seen as I paid quite a bit extra for something I could’ve gone out and got for a lot cheaper and a lot greater quality. I feel the food should be replenished more often so there is more available for people arriving at different times in the morning. Other than that, was a good stay, comfortable and clean. Can’t say fairer than that.

Room was good

Good location, not the best service

Location is superb. Next to the station and very close to the centre. Room was clean and nice enough. Staff were not so great, service was ok but rushed and didn't feel particularly welcoming. A number of times staff were stood around talking rather than serving customers and just generally acting unprofessionally.
