The staff is great, very friendly. We booked two rooms, in one of them 1608 the closet doors did not work well, they were stuck. Our room was not cleaned in the morning and we had to request for cleannig, waht was done afterwards. Othe than that the hotel is very good.

« Old hotel with poor management »

The hotel was totally out of the standards I imagined for a mercure hotel. Old rooms with odd decoration and stained floors and bathroom. The first room given to me had a very strong smell of smoke. Management took a very long time to be helpful in this case.

We had a great stay. Being American it would be nice to have a converter for electricity. The only problem the maid left our door open one day but luckily nothing was missing.

« OK Hotel close to Beach »

The stay at the hotel was ok, opposite the beach with a good size room. On the down side the lifts are a joke as there is not enough and too small, also I checked in early as I had arrived on an overnight flight from London and the guy on reception was not Mr helpful saying that I should be paying extra, bearing in mind the client I was working for was picking up the bill, all I wanted was a freshen up and breakfast which I did not have as it was an early check in. I'm not being funny but I stayed for almost three weeks, also eating in the restaurant is one breakfast going to break the Mecure ?

« Serious problems with elevators, mediocre breakfast, expensive parking »

For an expensive hotel, by Brazilian standards, the Mercure Santos has an insufficient lift service (elevators) for the large number of rooms. The breakfast is unimaginative, with no Brazilian dishes available. Car parking should not be charged.

« Good so far with small mistakes which not damage our relationship. »

Bad and or lack of goodwill from reception attendees, due not efficient check in system keeping the people too long time in queuing. Beside that the micro wave was very dirty, doesn't match the Mercure standard. Hope that somebody might to take a look and revise the housekeeping qualification. Best Caio M.

« Room almost as warm as outside temperature »

We tried three rooms in total and the temperature was never below 27 degrees C. (80 F.). I don't know what they changed as I had the opportunity to stay in this hotel twice before and it was fine.The rooms with two areas only have one single air conditioner - the other room has only an extractor fan only - the hotel employee didn't help when she classified it as "almost an air conditioner".I've been in other hotels from Accor in Brazil and they were all very good - I guess this one is the exception.

Rooms were quite comfortable. There was some delay when checking in but they offered us a temporary room. The landscape around is nice, the restaurant offers very good meals. Price is Ok for such type of accomodation.

« Rooms are very warm (and I tried three of them) »

This is not the first time I stayed in this hotel but something has definitely changed. I've tried three different rooms and in all of them the air conditioner was not able to lower the temperature below 26 to 26 degrees Celsius (80 degrees F.). My conclusion is that this is not a simple fault with a specific air conditioner but that they were setup this was by design. A second issue I had is with the double rooms in which there is an air-conditioner only in one of the rooms while the other has a simple exhaust. In spite of what the employee told me at the front desk, an exhaus is not "almost the same as an air conditioner". This made my stay very uncomfortable, sweating in my room all the time. Just as a comparison, the temperature outside the hotel was only one or two degrees above the room temperature. I will definitely not return to this hotel. (PS: I've also been in other hotels in Brazil from Mercure and Ibis and they were all fantastic - I think the problem is only this particular one)

It is always a pleasure to stay in this hotel when I'm traveling for work near Santos. At the bar service is awesome! and of course it is possible to get the opportunity to enjoy a good view! Something that need to be addressed is the preventive and corrective maintenance, there is a huge room for improvement.

My overall experience was good. We hosted an event at the hotel. But the check in took a long time and breakfast was delayed, we had to leave really early and the info was it was served at 6pm but just opened around 6:15

« Good surprise »

Overall we were very satisfied. The balcony had a view to the beach (not expected), the apartment was clean and with a frigobar always being replenished. It just missed an iron (we had to request to the front desk). The hotel is walking distance to many places, a great view on top with a small pool and restaurant. Great breakfast and view of the beach. The door card stopped working but the staff restarted the system quickly. Thank you.

« Hotel has great location and fabulous views of the water. However, it desperately needs an upgrade. The furniture and fixtures are down right shabby. »

Our experience was good thanks to the great location of the hotel and panoramic views from our room and the upstairs restaurant. But the faded cover on the couch, broken fixtures, stained ceiling, and inept if friendly service by hotel staff kept our expert at the hotel from being first rate.
