Room and breakfast was very nice. At least one of the staff at the front desk spoke English which was a big plus. Pool was disappointing since it was only half full and cold. Exercise area needs to be updated.

I request to renovate and better equip the gym. To improve academy. Needs mats and a treadmill at least. It takes some pesos. Just as a detail, not mandatory, an original television or stereo surround sound.

« Well located hotel »

I liked staying at Mercure Santos. The hotel is very well located and staff is friendly and professional. One of the rooms we used was a wheelchair adapted room which was very well adapted. There were a few items in the room that could be updated to bring the room to perfect conditions.

hotel was good. check in and check out were slow. when checking in, room was not available at 1PM. service around the pool area was poor.

« Great Hotel, Poor Experience »

I recently stayed in room 2006 at this hotel and mostly enjoyed the stay with the exception of the terrible sound emitted by the a/c units every 5-10 minutes. I called the front desk about the issue and they said they'd send someone right up. After about an hour, I called back asking where the guy was and he showed up 10 minutes later. He seemed to know what might be causing the issue as he got in the ceiling and got the noise to stop for about 1-2 hours. It started again around 1100 and I decided to just deal with it as best I could. Good hotel, great staff, awesome location. Needs an update though and the a/c issue definitely needs to be addressed.

« Nice Location, Needs Update and Maintenance »

The hotel's location is perfect, the food at the restaurant is delicious, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. The hotel is also badly in need of an update though and the a/c units in the room I had (2206) made incredibly loud banging sounds as if someone were slamming a door about every 5-10 minutes. There were three of these a/c units in room 2006 and the sounds alternated among them every five minutes throughout my stay, so sleeping was difficult (turning them off was not an option for me as the humidity and sweating was worse than the noise). I called the front desk about the issue and they said they'd have someone come up. After about an hour, I called back and they sent someone right away. The maintenance worker was very friendly and seemed to be aware of what was causing the issue as he messed around a bit and got it to stop for an hour or two. Then it started all over again. It was almost 2300 by then so I just dealt with it. Great hotel, somewhat rough experience.

I WAS OK, BUT THE SHOWER WAS NOT HOT, BUT ONLY WARM. THERE WERE A COUPLE AT THE POOL LISTENING BAD MUSIC LOUD AND THE STAFF SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT, EVEN WHEN WE ASKED THEM TO DO SOMETHING.

« Room for improvement »

We asked for an early check-in and were given a room with the smell of sewage coming from the en suite bathroom. The staff were very helpful and promptly gave us another room, which was in desperate need of renovation with a washbasin blocked with previous guests' hair. As we had an early start to go scuba diving the following day, we asked to have breakfast 30 mins early. This information was not forwarded to the person responsible, who took a lot of convincing to let us in, despite everything having already been laid for breakfast.

The Merkure is a great hotel in Santos. The rooms are nice. It seems like every room with a view of the beach. The restaurant serves good food. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

« Friendly staff make this excellent hotel even better »

The whole experience was excellent thanks to the friendly and professional staff. Room was comfortable, with a wonderful view, the hotel is in an excellent location on the sea front, there's a good variety of food and drink at breakfast and overall it was excellent value for money. The only negative comment is that the air conditioning in the restaurant was way too high... I had to go back to my room to get a jacket, and its summer!

« Great views »

I’ve been staying in the Mercure since it opened. Needless to say the hotel is in the perfect location which is a huge plus but don’t fall asleep with your standards and service. Some of your staff still very arrogant. Just a genuine welcome smile can make a lot of difference. I enjoy having the morning breakfast specially the “pão de queijo”, but please leave them in the basket instead of having one or two in individual paper bag. (Help to save the planet) Note: I am coming again this weekend with 2 / 3 other friends. All of us with different rooms.

« Good, but could be better. »

The room was great, also the service. However, the hotel should take more care of the plumbing - I had a "flood" in my bathroom due to a leak in the tap, but the tap was only replaced after a second "flood". It should have been replaced right after the first one. Also, the water in the shower take too much time to heat, so if the hotel wants to be seen as "ecofriendly" the heat should come faster. And the shower had several spots jammed, so no uniform water stream.

Very good on check-in. But during the check-out some surprises appeared. I've checked-in already paying the entire stay and including the parking lot. No other information was giving about the parking lot. When checking-out, the parking assistant told me I have to pay extra ours due to the expiration of hotel parking stay. No one told me about that and when asking the Mercure staff about this they said it's not related to Marcure anymore ("This It's not my problem" attitude). At the end, I've to pay the parking lot twice, and Mercure is out of my list of hotel preferences.
