We had a good time celebrating two birthday celebrations in Sofitel. Our breakfast nook for two days for a group of 9 people was cozy, well attended and well serviced. We got adjacent and connecting rooms so we were able to move about not too far from each other. The pool was wonderful for the kids, the picture areas by the bay was great for the adults. Very relaxing experience.

« The stay could have been better. »

Our previous stays in Sofitel, even before I was a member, was much better than the last one. We (all three rooms) were placed in a low floor (3rd) and all with the view of the parking area. The concierge said there were no available pool view, but after a few request to another attendant, she was able to give us one room with a pool view. Thus, we just felt that the first attendant was not that accommodating and didn't try her best to find us a room with a better view. With regards the breakfast buffet, the food was not as good as before, which were all previously exceptional. Also, when we requested for a bucket of ice, the same arrived but only after about an hour. Service during our last stay was really not as it was before. Otherwise, our stay was okay, but like i said in the title, it could have been better.

I have travelled around the world twice now staying in 5 Star Properties and writing reviews on each. I'm very honest and straight to the point sharing my individual experience on every property I stay at. Some reviews I have given what I would deem as a less than positive review because there was some part of my stay that did not meet up to my expectations regarding the cost or standards that property should have met. So here is my honest review on Sofitel Philippine Plaza. I base my reviews on properties that I stay at using two key words, those being: Location and Experience. Lets start with Location. Sofitel Philippine Plaza get's a 10 out of 10 score for the location. In my opinion and i'm sure in many others the location would have to be the best in Manila when comparing hotels. Let's begin with Sofitel being located on the bay which brings into mind the amazing sunsets looking over the the water to the West. I can't imagine seeing anything better anywhere in Manila. Sofitel is only a short distance from the airport so that's a positive knowing what the traffic can be like in Metro Manila. The Mall of Asia (MOA) is within sight making it easy and accessible to get to in minimal time if necessary by the hotel bus which I should mention as an additional service the hotel offers which I take advantage of. Well done Sofitel Philippine Plaza on "Location" Let's look at my other key word "Experience" Question: What brings me back to Manila and Sofitel Philippine Plaza each time? This I say Experience. Not once have I been let down in service by your wonderful staff. Like I mentioned above I have seen all types around the world some being very below average so I have seen it all. From the very minute when my driver drops me off to when I depart I'm treated in the most respectful way I could imagine during my stay which on average is always 4 nights. The concierge to Reception, Room service to Restaurant and Bar staff need to be recognised for their outstanding service there at Sofitel Philippine Plaza. I would like to mention individual staff and my sincere apologies must go to any one that I do not mention here because my memory is overloaded with names. John Russel and team on concierge. The outstanding staff in the lobby upon checkin in and out. Mark Sydney, Paul and Kim and others in the Sports Bar. Eric, Jess, Paul Arnold, Kath, Carlo, Fernando, Alma, Ross, Ella, Bon, Danica and Grace and Elijah in Spiral. Francoise, Ronel, Johanne, King, Karl, Regie, Rocel Hannah, Henry, Jobert, Michael, Samuel, Alvin, Christella, Ruvie, Laarne, Clarisse, Jovince, Tricia, Jay Lou, Darren and Randel at the Sunset Bar. Richard Branson once quoted: Take care of your employees and they will take care of your business. I think that is very accurate as to what goes on at Sofitel Philippine Plaza. Well done because that ticks Experience. I yet again departed your property with a great experience. For that reason I will be back. I don't need to go to any super casino's which seem to be popping up everywhere in Manila now...Sofitel is the place for me. I have one regret, that being I was saddened to see that Adam Laker had moved on to Canada. Hats off to Adam for being such a great General Manager and a massive loss to Sofitel. I can only congratulate him and wish him all the best in his new venture. Maybe one little feedback I would like to give and that being maybe make Snaps Sports Bar a smoke free bar. All in all well done to everyone at Sofitel Philippine Plaza see you all soon. Mark N.

The new check-in area/lounge for Accor members is much appreciated and the staff were very accommodating. The pre-booked extended stay is a very good offer so we could plan our activities beforehand and not rely on the unsure availability on check out day. « We had a delightful stay there for our anniversary. »

We had an overnight stay there last October. We got to enjoy the pool area. The room is huge and clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. We really had a great stay overall. All staff that we get to talk to are very nice and accommodating. My only not so good comments are: Rain shower in the room's bath is not working We can hear crying baby from the other room which is a bit disturbing during the wee hours. The smell from the sea at the pool area is really bad when we went there in the morning.

We are unhappy to know that such inconveniences occurred during your stay here in Sofitel Manila. The crying is already beyond the hotel's control however, we can provide earplugs for guests. As for the smell of the bay, we do regular projects to keep the water in the vicinity of the hotel clean as we wanted to be more environmental responsible.
