« Room was way too hot »

The air conditioning in the room was not working. I contacted the front desk who sent over maintenance guys, who determined that the A/C was fine. The room was extremely hot and the A/C unit was blowing warm air all night, making for a very unpleasant stay.

Hotel is just next to the Airport, you do not to worry if you could not catch your early flight in the next morning. However, this is a huge hotel and I was lost my way. The room is clean and cozy and staff are well trained. Only few stops to the down town, you could actually stay there for few days.

Your right we are conveniently located across Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport it takes you 30-seconds walk from the main terminal Exit 12-13 walk through the covered walkway towards the hotel and don’t forget to look out for our white golf buggy which help with your luggage. All our Guest Rooms are European standard and have the Pullman bed which is huge for one person The air conditioning system is up to standard and the shower room has separate tub and rain shower. All Guest Rooms give you enough space to do your business or leisure Activities. Don’t forget our Touch Spa at the third floor West wing with our amazing Swimming pool and Fitness lounge which is open from 6:00am in the morning till 22:00pm at night.. Hotel is just located next to the Baiyan Airport. However, this is the great hotel I have ever stay for "Airport Hotel". This is a big hotel and you might get lost for your first visit. The room is clean and cozy. Services are professional, honestly, you won't mind staying for days even you are not catching a flight.

I always stay at the Pullman going in and out of Guangzhou as well as putting my USA and Asian staff that travels with me there. It is super convenient and I enjoy my stays. That said, I have been rather disappointed that the men in my group get upgraded to the executive level even though they work for me and travel on my company account whilst I get a regular room in the other tower as does my female assistant. This is so wrong...but I have experienced this many times in Asia where it seems men get preferential treatment over women. Still, I expect better from an international hotel chain. Thank you.

I decided to book a room for my 13hrs layover from 12hrs flight out of Paris, didn't want to rely on police accommodation, when I arrived (not easiest to find but ask airport security/attendants but if remember correctly, departures area K exit 13) I was so tired and just want to have a shower - think it was just before 11am. I was able to check-in with ease, within minutes and was given assistance to my room and everyone was very friendly. Room was nice and well presented as you'd expect from any Pullman hotel and after a wash and sleep, I went downstairs where I got assistance with booking a taxi to take me to Guangzhou Towers. The guys at the hotel arrived for the driver to come back for me (think he was a friend) and was reasonably priced. The driver made so much effort, even done a translator app so we could talk and took me around stopped in places so I could see and take pictures, really nice man. Got back to the hotel and again able to checkout with ease to catch connection to Denpasar, greeted and waved goodbye to smiling faces which is not exactly plentiful in the country. An overall great stay!

So my second time staying at the Guangzhou Pullman hotel, I had a 17 hours layover and as before, didn't want to rely on Chinese police for accommodation. I arrived after a 5hrs flight out of Denpasar, it was a completely different set of hotel crew and at first everything was OK, although there were certain looks but was able to check-in with ease as well as got assistance to my room after asking. Again after shower and sleep, in again a perfectly presented room as you'd expect from a Pullman hotel, I went for sightseeing to Six Banyan Tree temple and Chen Clan Academy. Getting taxi was not as easy this time but guys at the front desk were good enough in getting addresses and speaking with driver but he was able to wait for me and long story short, not easiest place for me to get taxi. When I did get back to the hotel, I was so famished decided to go to the restaurant. The guy and girl at the entrance on 3rd floor where you can walk in from departures were abrasive when asked what floor restaurant was on and everyone, except the on girl who said she spoke English the best and that's why everyone seems so rude, was awful to interact with. Turning their noses up and staring at me and telling me I have to wait for them to confirm that I'm a guest, even after showing room key and signing bill. Every wine asked for was apparently out except some 300 € bottle not even glass and when as for water instead tried getting me to buy overpriced beer! The water literally brought to me in a bottle and throughout my meal I had to ask for glass, napkins etc. as they cleared when I sat down... I found the whole experience strange and for the first time in a long time, felt my colour was an issue. I'm black. I do feel like the people in the restaurant level need to work on being more hospitable. Rose

Check in was quick and nice, and as I'm an accord member Hotel prepared fruit plate in my room and at check in desk confirmed to me that it was already there. However, when I arrived to the room the fruit plate wasn't there and when I called the guest service they replied that I had DND light on. I told her that was impossible as I just walked in the room and I did not turn on the DND. That's a disappointment experience!

The driver of the Pullman Hotel trolley spotted us crossing the road from the airport. After loading all of our luggage into the back, he picked us up and took us to the lobby. Checking in was seamless and efficient. We were welcomed with fruit while our luggage was delivered to the room. Deluxe suites seem to come in two types. The first night we stayed in a room facing the airport but with only a barrier separating the bed from the lounge area. The next day we moved to an older style room but with proper doors delineating the separate functions of such a large suite. The older style room had two toilets but no airport view. Nevertheless, we were not disappointed. The Executive Lounge is on another planet - absolutely outstanding food and impeccable service from 6.00am to Midnight. The staff offer service at it's finest. The swimming pool is decent but it's shallow end of 1.3m is hardly shallow for little children. It is little wonder that the Pullman Guangzhou is listed in the top five airport hotels in the world. It really is a fantastic place to stay and remains good value.

« very dissappointed, not up to international hotel standards, staff not well trained, poor service, poor food outlets, and a few not friendly staff »

front desk staff not well trained, Christy was not friendly. the Chinese restaurant, food was horrible. even a simple fried rice not done well, soup was really bad ( CNY 100 per bowl ! ) , western restaurant : one cook during breakfast( to cook noodles and fry eggs ) was really rude, he did not wear a name tag, I asked for his name, he dared not give it to me. A bell boy was not helpful when I saw a delivery boy outside and asked him to help me. he gave me a very nice smile and walked away. by the way, I spoke good mandarin and Cantonese. However, one of the housekeeping staff was excellent, her name is Lesley 刘碧华, quite to my surprise that they have such a professional, well trained and mannered staff after a few days of bad experiences ( this is my second stay )
