« Good location, bad internet »

The reason for choosing this hotel is the location, convenient shuttle bus. But the room is just average, and kind of outdated. Internet is terrible. We stayed for 3 nights, every day you have to log in the account repeatedly. This is the worst internet experience in the whole year.

Thankful for the great team at Citygate. We loved our room and the breakfast buffet. Somehow we won a free room upgrade and the view was marvellous. We will stay at this property again in the future. We didn’t realize there was an airport shuttle until we had taken the bus to the hotel - oops

No complaints regarding service. However, I paid for a 5 pm checkout as my ongoing flight was late evening. I was looking forward to spending time in the outside pool, and relaxing on the sun loungers. Imagine my annoyance to find the pool was empty with no loungers available. Arrived at the hotel at about 9pm was picked up at the Airport by the complimentary shuttle bus. Check in was quick and very efficient. We were on the 8th floor in a lovely spacious room. We were only at the hotel for an overnight stay as we were travelling back to the UK night day .

Overnight stay to connect with a long haul flight. Shuttle to and from HK airport was easy. Checkin staff friendly and efficient as were all staff I met. Seems a popular hotel for Airline crews and I can see why.

Loved the hotel very, very much. Staff are outstanding. However I realized too late that I got hit with a bill for $136 CDN for ONE bowl of soup and TWO glasses of wine. I should’ve noticed when I paid but I was so enjoying my meal, after arriving late from Bangkok. This was my first trip as a widow and was just not on my game. I don’t know if the soup was really that outrageously overpriced or it was my own stupidity in missing an error of the service staff. It coloured my experience, sadly. But despite that, if I put it out if my mind, I loved the Novotel experience both in Hong Kong where I stayed with a family member for 3 nights, but I especially was impressed with Citigate. Such a lovely room!

Smooth and quick check-in and out. Quiet hotel, rooms are nice and comfortable. Only thing is that I could only find 2 outlets, one in the hallway, and one in the bathroom.

I upgraded my room to one on the Executive in order to be able to check out at 17.00. The room was fine and quiet. The service in the Executive Lounge was fantastic, thanks to Kero, who is stellar. The breakfast was disappointing and the worst I've had in similarly priced hotels in HK. The selection was relatively meagre and much of the food (the shrimp siu mai, for example) was clearly from frozen packages and then thawed out. The noodle soup contained tasteless broth and noodles, and almost nothing else. The pastries looked pre-packaged, the cereal selection was tiny. There was no Earl Grey tea.
