The best part of my stay was helpful service from the manager, Thomas. The rest was not good. I was in 309. The hotel is old and the rooms are very cramped. The single lift is tiny, the corridors are narrow and the fittings and carpets old. I have stayed in Mercure and other Accor hotels many times; this was more like an Ibis Budget than a Mercure, particularly the tiny bathroom, but it was older than any Ibis. The area suited me because of its proximity to Gare du Nord but was a bit scary after dark with a lot of homeless in the area. The lack of sport channels on the TV was very annoying when I wanted to watch a World Cup match but it was not available. Nor were there any channels in English, not even CNN or BBC. I would not stay again.

Dear LORAL, You've been our guest at the hotel Mercure Paris Gare de L'est et we want to thank you for your choice. Regarding your review, i wished that you'll have a better stay. The location is in the last real old Paris quarter, where the mixity is the key, differents culture arabic, french, indou and more are all together and i can understand that sometime it could surprise, but this is really loved usually from our guest since you can pass from India to Morocco in few meters, and have a stop for a typical french or libanees meal and this is something that personally i really appreciate. And then, you discover a little street out of this area, where our hotel is located and where no noise came in. Our hotel have been refurbished 2 years ago, and has you can see and the other comments, this operation had great review on Tripadvisor and other websites, but i can understand that it is not your type. Rooms are well sized for Paris, even if our hotel have been built in an Paris hold fashion style,with the convenience that it may cause, since we wanted to keep the natural specificity of the building. For your next trip, i highly recommend to book a PRIVILEGE ROOM, which offer more space and extra services as mini bar,Coffee machine and more. BBC world is available in our hotel, and i'm sorry that you were not able to find it, note that team is here 24 hours a day to answer o your questions. And for the football game, my colleagues are here aswell to recommande the best spots around the hotel to watch the game, most of the game have been proposed by the local channel, and on some of the spots chanel we've got, but for the other this is something that unfortunately we cannot handle. Indeed we are able to ask you for a bank guarantee even if you have a member card status, in fact it does not provide a guarantee of payment and this is well mentioned in the terms and conditions of your member card. We sent you an email in a concern to avoid you all inconvenience because we were full this date, and especially to avoid you find yourself without room in Paris. Unfortunately we had a lift failure during your stay, which as you can imagine, was beyond our control and we really apologize about it. We take into account your comments on the layout of our rooms and its services such as tea and milk that will help us improve in the future. It was quite hard to find the hotel from Garde du Nord. Quite small room, the wifi was not so strong for telecons if close the door, for email was OK. Breakfast was nice. Staff was pleasant and helful.

Staff very pleasant and friendly on arrival and at breakfast as well.its a shame the streets outside are full of beggars and down and outs, we saw one fight and a man knocked out just across the road I had to ask for my silver card benefit drink and we wanted two red wines, there was no red wine so I asked for two white wines but there was no white wine either. In the end we had to have a Rose wine.

I can't say anything negative about my stay, quite the contrary. The room was larger than expected, the location less busy and noisy than expected, everything worked out fine. The main reason for choosing this hotel was of course the access to the Gare de l'Est and the Metro. So I was prepared to accept any neighbourhood issues coming with the location. However, what I found was more colourful than unpleasant. A very small issue: I sort of rely on being able to have two cups of decaffeinated coffee in my room in the evening, and one day, the stock of room coffee had not been replenished. I am aware that my selective use of instant coffee may have been overlooked quite easily. I went down to the reception and was instantly given what was missing, so really no harm done.

Hotel is very well located in a quiet area close to the Gare de l'Est and the Gare du Nord. Good value for money. Some good restaurants close by. Very helpful staff. I recommend this hotel especially to those travelling to or from these two railway stations.

My fife and I spent 5 days in this Hotel. Location is good for tourists; 2 min walk from Gare de l'est and 8 min walk from Gare du Nord. it's close to a Marche, MonoPrix, MC Donald's, restaurants and bars. there is a mini fridge in the room so you can buy everything from Monoprix and keep it in your room. Excellent breakfast, Dining hall looks like a cute Cave/Tavern (with Modern interior design). Friendly staff.

This is a great, modern hotel. The rooms are smallish, as you would expect in Paris, but the plus side is they are extremely modern - including the bathroom. The property also has a lift, which is a bonus. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is very close to Gare de l'Est and Gare de Nord.

The location is good and staff are friendly. I was disappointed with the housekeeping staff. She lost one of my Tom shoe while cleaning the room. I talked to.the reception.staff and he said he will find out for me before I leave but he told me he doesn't know why the shoe is missing. He gave me a email address to write in to the manager but the email wasn't working. I want the housekeeping staff to buy a new pair of Tom shoes for me or return my old one. Please contact me as soon as possible.
