As a Gold client, I was given an upgrade room. Unfortunately, the air conditioning system was not functional. Despite all my reminders, nothing has been done. In addition, I noticed that he installations are becoming out of date.

« Great location and neighborhood, nice hotel, poor room service and reception »

Novotel Hivernage is strategically located in the center of Marrakesh within the safe and clean neighborhood. The hotel itself is nice and our room was spacious enough. However the Air Conditioning didn't really work, even when we turned down the temperature into 10 degree C, we can only feel the fan. We booked the room for 3 pax, 4 nights, but we only allowed to get 1 mineral water per day, 2 individually wrapped instant coffee, sugar, and paper cups for each, daily. There was 1 day when we didn't even get our mineral bottle at all. Rather than keep asking everyday to the unfriendly reception, we decided to buy our mineral water ourselves. I mean, why do we have to fight for 1 bottle of mineral water per day....? As for the bathroom floor mat,towel, shampoo and shower gel... the housekeeping kept forgetting to provide us with one of those bathroom amenities everyday. It was troublesome since no one picked up the phone when we call the housekeeping, and again we have to go down to the reception lobby to get those.... I hope that Novotel HIvernage will improve their service soon, it's such a pity a hotel with such a great location is not supported with great service.

Good hotel.. But the breakfast should include more varieties. Also why there should be a Chargeable omelette and few smaller things, when eggs are free. All other Novotel serves the same and they are non-chargeable. Service in breakfast area needs improvement. Overall , I may not repeat this hotel. Waiting lobby small and bar is inappropriately stocked.

My first impression of the hotel was not great, as the person who checked me in was not at all friendly. I was also asked to pay at check in and had issues with the card I was trying to pay with, I ended up paying in cash but had to ask for an invoice as one was not provided. The room was fine and the bar staff very friendly. I would also commend the staff member who helped me when I was departing from the hotel as she was helpful, as was the porter who helped with my luggage.

« I was expecting a far better service for a hotel part of the Accord group. D »

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and it was a bad experience. We requested twice for a baby cot, we never got it. No remote control for the tv in the room, we had to ask three times. Just next to our room facing the pool, there was an old and extremely dirty couch. Furniture was dirty (table outside the room on the terrace). No real mug in the room, we had to drink tea in a carton cup.

« The hotel's location made it easy to reach most major tourist sites. »

The front desk was helpful and the rooms was efficient. I believe, however, that the general areas catered to a much younger audience. I did not appreciate listening to rap music while in the restaurant and didn't like the small "bar" filled guest smoking water pipes while watching TV. It would have been helpful if the patio door had been opened in order to enable some guests to get away from the smoke and to be able to enjoy their drink in peace and quiet.

Hotel is located in a great place, very close to La Mamounia, Royal Mansour and restaurants & clubs. Easy to walk almost every place, even 15-20 mins to main square! The breakfast was good enough. The rooms can be improved

« Disappointing experience, terrible, not 4 star hotel »

This Hotel was a complete disappointment, certainly not 4 stars, it completely failed the standard we expected from a Novotel. We had an excellent experience in Beijing and Athens, Marrakesh was a disaster. We had to negotiate for a new room as the balcony door was half broken and all the street noise came inside (impossible to sleep) and the carpet was in a terrible condition. The lady at reception was rude, claiming the hotel was fully booked for the night, then finally gave us a ground floor room after we complained about the standard of this hotel compared to other Novotel's. We experienced truly shocking customer service. Anything you ask for in this hotel 30min-1 hour waiting time, it's as if though no staff work in the hotel except at reception. Further disappointments: Pillows flat/uncomfortable /no spare pillows No cupboard in room No proper bed side table terribly hard mattress Bathroom floor tiles are disgusting and old Toilet has no room to move (smaller than aeroplane toilet) no complimentary water in room tea/coffee not refilled daily ( 1 hour wait after asking 3x times) no bathrobe/slippers Bathroom doesn't have a proper door (doors only push inwards/outwards and with holes inside) Lastly no complimentary welcome drink offered for Accor silver club member, had to show membership email to reception on next day. We paid for a 4 star hotel, we did not receive this standard, if we knew all of the above we would never have stayed here, very disappointing of Novotel, a waste of money to stay here, have never been treated so shockingly to simply change a room or wait one hour for a tea bag or bottle of water.

Curtains and lamps broken in bedroom. Bathroom can not close. Pool very dirty. Pool furniture damaged. Bathroom dirty. Dirty shady lounge downstairs with rubbish. Unbelievable that Accor has given a franchise to this hotel. Herewith they damage the reputation of Novotel.

Furniture is broken, the bathroom door can not close. Curtains are half hanging from the ceiling, swimming pool is dirty, pool furniture is damaged. Novotel totally unworthy. Do not understand that Novotel accepts this. Probably just for a franchise fee. Novotel's reputation is seriously damaged by this hotel.

« Nice Staff, Nice Location: Could Use a Renovation »

The experience was very good. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The location is very good. The breakfast was nice and the room was also nice. Also, the artwork that is displayed in the hotel is outstanding (overall, the skull & bones at the entry of the bar should be removed). The only suggestion I have is that the hotel spend the money to do some renovation and upgrading of facilities. It's time. It seems the last time money was spent on renovation was probably 5-10 years ago.
