« Not like the other Novotels in the world! »

It was my first time in Hotel Novotel Tunis. Before I have stayed in Novotel Istanbul and Paris. When I compare Novotel Tunis with the other ones and the other accor club hotels, I can say that Novotel Tunis is not in the general standards of Novotels! First of all, room was not clean when I first arrived. The bed sheet absolutely was not changed after the previous guest. There were hairs and the shape of body in the bed sheet! It was really terrible! I immediately called the reception and asked for the new sheets! The bathroom is not super clean either! Besides, the service in the breakfast was so slow. I had to wait quite long time for just hot water for having my tea. The attitude of the staff was not friendly as well. I was really dissapointed during my experience in Novotel Tunis.

Room service is pretty slow. Ordering eggs takes more than a half an hour. Things like salt and pepper are never included on the room service trays which makes the experience of eating in your room sub-par. The food in the restaurant is also lacking in flavor. It appears the chef is not a fan of using any salt in anything! In addition, many times, the staff is not paying close attention to what you ordered and orders come not so good. Getting more English speaking staff for the restaurant is a good idea. Restaurant staff should not interrupt individuals who are having business meetings to ask them to leave the restaurant in order so that they can rearrange seating for lunch. This is very basic courtesy for a business hotel. A waiter insisted twice that I leave so that he can rearrange the seating. I was shocked given that the entire restaurant was empty and I was in an important meeting at the edge of the restaurant. He could have begun at any other section, but he wanted us to leave, and interrupted me when we had limited time to finish our business. I could not understand why he would think something like that is appropriate.

I use to stay in Novotel - Mohamed V in Tunise because is close to my business and the stay is always Perfect!! also at night the terrace is beautiful and funny.

« I could not sleep. Loud music until 1 AM from the rooftop. Minibar check at 8:00 AM. Bad Dinner Buffet. »

View that I am a owner of a silver "Accor Hotel" card, I had my room at 6th floor, that is the "preferred" floor, That's been a very bad experience. On the roof top, at the pool, the bar keeps on playing music until 1 AM and that's not lounge and/or soft music but DISCO music, and the vibrations were very clear by the bed pillow, therefore even earplugs didn't work. I asked many times to turn it off, to be able to sleep but the receptionist teased me for 1 hour, telling me "just 10 minutes" and music stopped just at 1 AM. And I had to get up at 7 to catch my fligth back. I understand that music is a good way to entertain guests, but in the right measure and in the right time. In a hotel I'd like to rest and sleep first. I think that's should be the priority. To underline even that at 8 AM a waiter knocked at all doors to check minibars. At 8 AM isn't too early? Dinner Buffet is very very scarce in variety of food, expecially for hot dishes.

Hi - Very nice hotel and restaurant - Roof was also nice. One problem: We paid the hotel for a taxi to the airport and when we got to the airport the taxi driver also required us to pay so we were charged double - the taxi registration was 158 5032 taxi 9764 if it matters.

Housekeeping knocked on my door and instead of waiting for me to open it pushed it open so hard that the safety door chain BROKE! The reception desk was not helpful or particularly polite. Room service delivered food COLD. At breakfast the staff is not interested in helping at all.

When I arrived in my room (very tired from a long journey) y found that the matress was upside down. I don't know what type of matress it was buy once it is upside down it is full of holes so I had to turn over the matress and redo the bed...this is not 4 star.

« Good hotel, nice service but awkward experience with regard to payment »

Hotel rooms are nice and people are very polite and provide a valuable service. Only one severe problem with regard to the booking and advance payment system. Indeed, as customary in my business, my office had arranged for an online reservation with full advance payment, with credit card through the website. The confirmation email specified very clearly that the balance to pay to the hotel for two nights and breakfast was zero. Unfortunately, the reception clerk informed me that the hotel decided not to debit the amount because it was fully booked (?) and that I had to pay at checkout... what I did on the insistence of the personnel, even though I could show the email confirmation stating that it all had been paid for. I am still not sure that we won't be charged twice... Anyway, this is the first time in all my business travels experience that this issue occurs. Even if we might not suffer financially (hopefully) of the experience, it is very awkward, not professional and unpleasant.
