Very happy with staff and hotel from start to finish and we will return. Only issue was on checkout we were charged for our room, and a hold for almost the same amount as the stay was put on hold on our card. this took over 1 week to sort with 3 emails and a phone call. Not sure why after the payment was made in full a hold was placed on our card as well for the stay.

We came to Brisbane for four days, to attend the Commonwealth Games and to catch up with friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The facilities were good and the restaurants catered to our needs well. Even being able to entertain some our friends for coffee in the cafe before we started our day was an added bonus. Best of all the accommodating, caring staff. We were very happy with the above average, fantastic attention from the Sofitel staff. A cut above the norm. We will definitely be back and also stay at other Sofitels when we travel. Thank you

We won our stay at Le French Festival last year and were greatly looking forward to our stay as we had stayed at the Sofitel in Paris on our wedding day many years ago. It did not disappoint from the spacious, elegantly decorated room to the enjoyable, relaxing buffet breakfast. The view from our room was an added delight!

The Sofitel Brisbane is a great hotel with excellent staff. As a Platinum Member the lounge access is brilliant and the breakfast is super. I have stayed here a number of times and will be back again in August.

« Great service, but a little disappointing. »

The front desk check in person was excellent, despite denying points due to purchasing the accommodation via a third party. I received no amenities that member ship should provide. Consequently I arranged an after hours work meeting elsewhere, when I would have loved to have it on the top floor members lounge. A work around was described upon check out by the Manager. My issue is that I was sold this membership direct by Accor. A week after purchase one of your third parties, Velocity, that I am also a member of was offering a much better membership deal. I called the Accor consultant who of course really couldn't care less because the sale was already done. My colleague booked this current trip on my behalf, and I provided her my membership numbers. She booked it through Expedia and when I arrived was immediately told that because I purchased through a third party, that I would not receive points. You seem to have it both ways - sell through TPs but not provide points through them. Seems I have to suffer disadvantage by your club membership before I am told I must price-check with the hotel direct to get the points. My God. The desk surface in the room was a little dusty, so presumably the room had not been used in a while. The room service food was terrible - Quiche and salad - the quiche was half burnt and inedible, the salad mediocre, and it came with THREE bread rolls. Maybe the kitchen could have recommended something else than trying to make up for it with bread. I was not charged for this, so all good. There is a continual problem with programming of room cards. I am not talking about holding them next to other magnetized cards or items. It is the luck of the draw whether they mysteriously deprogram between being handed at the desk to being slotted in the lift. It didn't happen to me this time, but it happened to two other people in the lift with me, who as someone else did for me once, I politely advised it was not their fault but they would need to go back to the front desk. That is all. I like your hotel and will stay there again, so I mention these things in the hope of improvement.

On arrival the lobby was brilliant, the bar, the atmoshpere, the decor was spectacular. The check in/out was smooth and no complaints. Upon arriving to my room I realised how dated the hotel was and there was a stench from the carpet/curtains. The bathroom had a lot of mould around the shower and taps. I went to the bar to meet a friend and enjoy a drink. I approached the bar and was greeted by a female host who suggested I take a seat and she would offer table service. None arrived. My friend then arrived, she approached the bar to order a drink, she too was asked to take a seat and table service would be happy to help. We had to make quite some effort to get the attention to order a drink. Drinks finally arrived and soon after we ordered another round of the same wine. We were given another glass but we could clearly tell this wasn't the same wine. When we ased, we were told the wine we were drinking had run out and this was close. It wasn't. We then asked for some nibbles/peanuts, were told no problem, they would bring them out. Waited, waited and then eventually had to ask again. You asked, I told... I'm dissapointed and would not be keen to return quickly to your hotel. First world problems I know, but if you want honest feedback, here it is. I'm sure not all of your staff operate at this level.

« Average with a small piece of delight »

The room was dated and unlike the other Sofitel’s in Melbourne or even the Gold Coast. There was poor lighting in the room with the lamps which made it difficult to do work. I did order room service and the food was spectacular which was a real treat. However once it came time to retire for the evening the room was freezing so I turned the air con off but couldn’t find any blankets. I was very cold by this stage and tried to sleep but could not get comfortable. I even tried sleeping in my robe and was still cold. Then I called concierge and waited...nothing happened. So I called again and finally got blankets but at this stage it was very late and made my quality of sleep poor.

« WONDERFUL »

We love the Sofitel, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the executive lounge is very relaxing and the canapes are yummy and a good selection for breakfast. The rooms are a good size and comfy beautiful beds. Just a couple of minor things...the breakfast was cold on the Saturday morning and the shower is quite out dated but we still love it.
