We had a great time at the hotel - bar and gym/pool were the highlights. The room was nice, but could do with being updated as could the bathroom. Easy to walk into Cardiff City center as well.

Only one pair of slippers in executive room ,one dressing gown soiled. Second day nespresso pods not replaced or mineral water ,and not enough milk. On a personal preference note did not appreciate loo being separate from bathroom even though sanitizer provided. Would choose a standard room next time but only if loo was in the bathroom . If not would not stay, sorry .

The hotel is conveniently located and the car park is very handy. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms are perhaps a little dated especially the blue bathrooms which look a bit Travelodge. Breakfast was fine and I appreciated the effort of providing a “gluten free corner” . It would be good if basic allergen info could be added to the hot buffet eg sausages etc to save having to ask. Also the room service menu whilst it has gf options they are limited to chips and salad. All in all however my stay was satisfactory.

Unfortunately my experience was spoilt slightly by a mistake made when I booked my room via Tesco as for some reason 6 separate bookings had been made and I had not noticed !! The way I was made to feel by when I checked in was unacceptable - even being told that I would have had to pay for the five bookings, which I hadn't made !!! Not once did I receive an apology or given any form of reassurance but rather made to feel that I had done something wrong !! Thankfully I am a positive and assertive person, and realised that the mistake was not one I had made and therefore wasn't too worried about having to find the money , but this unfortunately did tarnish my experience. Another guest could have been very upset about this implication that they would have to pay £1,000 for bookings they had not made !!!! The remaining stay was lovely - the room was satisfactory and the hotel itself is superb !

Love this hotel it’s always my 1st choice when going to Cardiff. This time however I felt a little let down by the room (everything else perfect) 1st room I was given was little dirty and grubby wood chipped off around bathroom door and carpet full of stains. 2nd room still very tired looking but better than first.

Have used this hotel many times. Great facilities and pleasant bar. Nice pool and steam rooms. Nice location only a short walk to town center. We normally only stay for one night. At £12.00 a night parking adds up.

As I stay in this hotel around 5 times a year. There was no surprise from me firstly how well mannered and helpful the checkin staff were. Also how clean and tidy both rooms I booked were. In the morning the breakfast was second to none, plenty of verity and plenty to choose from. We went to use the pool steam room and jacuzzi which all 3 were working fantastic and incredibly clean. My running friend who stayed with me in the other room has also stayed in a number of hotels in Cardiff and agreed with me this is the best one he’s stayed in. Overall 10/10

We stay @ hotel every 6-8 weeks for an evening and its like being at home ! Staff are absolutely brilliant and can't do enough for you. Definatly the best hotel we have stayed in! Great atmosphere and very relaxing. Spa is relaxing and always peacefull.Bar staff and food is brilliant and I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cardiff. Last visit our friends from London stayed and they enjoyed the whole stay! They commented that it was the best spa hotel they stayed in ! As our guests visiting Cardiff for the first time the hotel made their stay extra special

All very good except for our experience in the restaurant

We found the service in the restaurant very slow and inattentive the restaurant wasn't busy so there was no reason for the service to be so poor, we were at the restaurant to celebrate my 60th birthday with my son and his fiance but they had to leave to catch their train and weren't able to have their sweet even though we were in the restaurant at 6pm and at 8 pm some two hours later we were still waiting for our sweet order to be taken this really spoilt the occasion The staff on duty 3 men seemed more interested in standing chatting at the bar amongst themselves than attending to your customers, they were talking and laughing loudly several times one looked over at us to see we weren't eating and had clearly finished our main but just ignored us I was very disappointed and upset. The member of staff on reception the day we arrived and left was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely we also enjoyed using the spa /pool facilities Thank you again for the little birthday touch which was left in our room It was such a shame that your restaurant service fell sort of our expectations however I would like to stress that the quality of the food was very good when it came. Usual Novotel standard of accommodation but disappointed with the frustrating problems. Upon arrival the safe in the room was locked. It took two telephone calls and visits from two members of staff over a period of over an hour to correct the problem. Why are these things not checked by the housekeeping staff before the room is issued. I feel as though I'm being used as the hotels quality checker. On our second day both our door keys stopped working and even after having them re-programmed by the reception staff we still only had one working. Since we just about to check out we didn't pursue this second failure but it's still a frustration.

We only stayed one night but have stayed a few times before. As always, the room was clean and warm and the staff very pleasant. On this occasion the hotel was very busy due to a sports event and there were a few areas in reception and the corridors that needed clearing, however this was all done by the next morning. The breakfast was great and the young man working on the desk for the leisure centre checked us out and was exceptionally pleasant, polite and helpful.
